Such as old action figures that you might see at rummage sales? Stuff like old G.I. Joe figures that someone's had for years or even a random old Batmobile or even a loose old Peter Venkman Ghostbusters action figure?

wow. those are some very specific random rummage sale items. yeah, i always go out on weekends in the spring/summer looking for stuff like this. seems though, for the most part, the generation of the good toys has long past for most rummage sale finds. but i still find the occassional diamond in the rough.

It's what I do on the weekends. I try to take the train every other Sunday to the Flea Market (at 5:30AM in the morning). Last weekend I got a Mego Dracula and a Filmation's Ghostbusters figure. The Mego I paid $35 for...so it's not exactly yard sale price.
One guy sells there every now and then, he has 4 BIG bins of junk figures for $1.00. Blackstar, TMNT, MOTU, Robocop, Silverhawks...all junked, so I stopped buying stuff out of those bins.

I still have my old Peter Venkman Ghostbusters action figure that I've had since I was a little kid. Don't need another one from a rummage sale but that is what I usually find especially during Crazy Days during late August.
Mostly its really baby toys like playschool stuff that's a big no for me but very rarely do I see some good stuff like old G.I. Joes or something. Its either going to family rummage sales to try to find old action figures or go to comic book shops to find action figures still in the cards being sold at insane expensive prices

I have more success at flea markets than I do at yard/garage/rummage sales. However, when I score, I usually score big. Last year, I found a sealed Captain Power Power Base in a garage for ten bucks, and the very next day at a different yard sale, I bought an insane childhood collection of Dino-Riders that included 15 complete dinos (including the T-Rex AND the Brontosaurus) for $60.
The weather has not lent itself to yard sales in my neck of the woods yet, but I did find a MUSCLE men trash can with the 10 original figures inside for a buck.
In other words, KEEP CHECKING THEM OUT!

I very rarely find older action figures at yard sales these days. Usually just loose 90s figure lines and the odd beat-up newer Transformer that you have to dig through a toy box for. I think with the price of figures these days, parents don't get rid of them so easily. The season is just starting up here and this weekend will probably be the first nice weekend of the spring, so their should be a number of sales on.

yeah summertime is almost here and time for people to do rummage sales.
The thing is that for toys at rummage sales here in town it's always baby toys and I'm kind of nervous as to trying to dig through a cardboard box full of stupid baby toy crap and not see anything good like one worn out old G.I. joe figure or at least a 1990s Batman animated show figure or something

Since I live in a big city, yard/garage sales are pretty scarce around here. I also don't have a car (pretty unnecessary where I live,) so I don't get the opportunity to hit the suburbs looking for stuff. I do, however, hit up flea markets when I can, be it the various ones that crop up around Philly, or any of the numerous weekly ones not far from here. I've found lots of great stuff this way, and even when I come back without much I still get enjoyment from hunting around.
That said, flea market season is upon us. I can't wait to get back out there!
