In case you haven't heard, the folks behind Mini-Mates are going to be reviving the old Battle Beasts toyline this year...I hope! I was always a fan of the classics. Battle Beasts were some of my personal favorites of all time! Despite this claim, I have yet to truly complete my collection...heh heh...anyway........ Just thought I'd show off these Battle Beats knock offs. I acquired them not too long ago...before I even knew Battle Beasts were "coming back". I've seen knock offs and bootlegs both in real life and on the internet for years. These are the first knock offs I've come to own.

Oh, and here they are from the back... See?! Anyhow...these are just ten examples...I know more are out there. As far as I can tell, at least five styles of arms and legs exist that attach to the core head/body part. In other words, construction-wise they consist of the main body with separate arms and a solid lower body section. This "collection" seems to showcase what I consider colored factions: blue/pink, blue/orange, yellow/brown, and brown/light blue. I've also seen pictures of these molds with different color schemes...more unique and colorful, as opposed to these at least. As you may also be able to see, the arms often don't match. I've got a few versions of these guys, and finding one with both arms matching (mold-wise) is hard...probably due to the cheap-o quality, they were just sorta slapped together.

One of the reasons I got these...Battle Beast infantry! As generic rip-offs, they make for more "basic" troops to be commanded by official Battle Beats, don'tcha think? Despite trying to complete my real BB collection over the years, I stopped to get these......never know if I'll get that chance again! These li'l guys are neat though. The themed colors make for different ranks, factions, or tribes too. Anyone else got any cool knock offs out there?
