I started collecting just figures and vehicles and play sets and then somehow my collecting went into puzzles, games, etc where do you draw the line? what does your collecting involve??

I pretty much stick with three "branded" things - Super Powers, 1980s GI Joe, and g1 TF. That's the line - I don't need anything else.

I don't have much line for vintage Star Wars and MOTU stuff. I'll get toys, books, merchandise, about anything. Toys do I aim more for the loose one, carded if availlable for a decent price.
Ado I'll soon get rid of any of my Star Wars stuff pass the 1980's, since they're just too much of them.
As for the other line, it all depend. I mostly aim only at the loose figure (Thundecats, Super Naturals, Jurassic Park, Star Trek stuff), loose and carded in some case (Rambo, Dick Tracy, Conan the Adventurer, T2, X-Files, most horror figure). I try myself to refrain on starting new line, that's mostly were I put the line now. I try to concrentrate on old line that existed when I was a kid, and hwne I start new one I try to aim at smaller line.

I started collecting SW as a child with the early bird set. I bought everything pretty much new and kept it all . Over the years I would buy anything with SW on it ( vintage 1970-1985) magazines, books, anything. but had to stop to buy foreign items because there is just too much out there.

I don't get anything that I feel is overpriced, that's about 90% of the stuff out there. other than that I get whatever I can.

Normally I draw the line to a few different boardgames., lunch kits or collector glasses for non action figure stuff. I just keep the ones I think are cool related to figure lines I collect or cartoons I like. Anything else I get thats action figure related, I fire off on Ebay to make $$ for more figures.

I don`t know when to say no. I do draw the line at anything not action figure though, don`t go for annuals or lunch boxes

My line is simple -- am I going to play with this? If it's going to sit there, looking pretty, I could just as easily take a picture. Probably my only exceptions to this rule are my Voltron robots which, for some reason, I never play with. However, the nostalgia level is so absurdly high and they are so hard to come by again if I let them go, so they stay.

I'm actually a pretty basic guy (for the time being). I'm pretty much a Star Wars figures only kind of collector, preferably MOC.

I collect toys, not anything with the *insert favourite line here* logo stuck all over it.
I don't care if there's two different types of lunchboxes with He-Man's face on it or a set of 4 PEZ dispensers with Ninja Turtle heads. THAT stuff is for the ACTUAL kids IMO. Me, I'm a collector, not a sucker for mass market rubbish.
(No offence intended to those who DO collect such things, it's just something I've tried to drum into my Mum for years - Transformers pillowcases are not my idea of a good birthday present! lol)

The line is pretty fluid. I'd say it's mostly, in fact almost exclusively based on finances.
15 years ago, it was pretty much just Action Figures. But it was ALL action figures. If it was a good deal, I got it. Didn't matter what it was: Star Wars, DC, G.I. Joe, Star Trek, Marvel, pretty much didn't matter.
Eventually it settled down to almost exclusively G.I. Joe.
While money wasn't an issue, about 2 to 6 years ago, it was ANYTHING and everything that said G.I. Joe: posters, comics, games, Halloween costumes, books, video tapes, watches, prototypes, international items, etc. etc. etc.
Now, money is an issue again. But my interest has waned a lot as well. The new figures don't thrill me all that much, and I just have so dam much stuff. Now I collect based mostly on obscurity and rarity. If I'm not likely to ever seen another one, I want it. But I especially like anything that's kid sized. Don't even know why, because I never really had any kid sized G.I. Joe stuff when I was a kid. Halloween costumes, role play toys, sleeping bags, t-shirts, dog tags, these are the things I just love. Though if it's really just a logo, I don't tend to want it. Has to be cool in it's own right, or in some cases the very last one I need to have them all.
I also really go for posters, international comics, and store displays. Especially store displays right now. If you can get them, they are often free, but they are so hard to get.

That's just too damn funny!

I draw the line when I either run out of room or money. Or both.

Man i was so addicted to collecting that i had a ton of toys, such as STAR WARS,G.I.JOE,SIMPSONS,MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE and so much more that i had no room left,so i sold off most of it except my G.I.JOES and THE SIMPSONS.I hated to sell off all that, but i had no choice. If i ever win the lottery i am going to buy a warehouse and fill it with so many collectibles
