I originally got these figures thinking they were something else...part of another line. However, that's to a fluke search on eBay at the right time, I discovered the carded versions! Turns out they were based off of a short-lived sci-fi drama called MANIMAL. It was about some guy who basically fought crime by, uh, turning...into animals?! Eh, whatever...it apparently lasted only eight episodes. I do actually remember hearing about it in an old magazine article on failed sci-fi TV series. Who knew it got toys?! Apparently only three figures got made. I sadly have no example of a carded figure, nor did I save a pic of one (darnit!!!). Basically the card art showed all three figures in the foreground with a darkened, nighttime cityscape in the background with a small eagle flying across a full moon. Eh, they're really just figurines...no articulation. Made of solid vinyl, about 4 inches tall. Each captures the guy (whatever his name was in the show) in partial transformation. If you didn't know what these were, then you'd never, uh, really KNOW what they were (I guess). The lion barely has any stand-out human characteristics. Very subtle human details. I really like his distinctive sculpt. Too bad the artist sculpted it in a dramatic pose since he tends to tip forward a bit! The panther just looks odd. I thought he was worn, but he's made to look "unfurred" in spots. The snake guy is awesome. Could easily pass for some generic monster.
