These figures are very similar to Thundercats & Silverhawks and are pretty hard to find. They pop up on Ebay occassionaly but go for good $$. They were also based of an virtually unknown cartoon from the 80s (I have never seen it before). You can check out the gallery of these figures on the main Website Here.

yeah tigersharks were the last attempt at milking the fantasy cartoon. the company first broke GROUND with thundercats to compete with he-man then that blew up so they took to the SKY with silverhawks but sadly the interest had deminished so much that tigersharks didnt even make a SPLASH . but all the same rules were there. same voices same plots. just as much the same as silverhawks were. but of course that always makes for a great rarity comeback in our years of nostalgia.

I'd never even heard of Tiger Sharks until a few years ago when I started looking into cartoons and toys from the 80's. Looks kinda fun. Personally I like LJN's action figures and toys much better than the vintage He-Man. I think they are much better sculpts.

In the Michael Jackson video clip "Black or White" a figure of T-Ray from the Tigersharks appears in Macaulay Culkin room, the figure has an arm missing... now that's REALLY weird

Was the sharkhammer ever produced? I have never even seen it. I never even heard of it untill browsing the figure guide here. If so does any one have any pics of it and an idea of a price on it.
Thanks

That picture is on the card backs as well. I have a complete carded set of these and each one has this picture on the back, just not as clear since the back is typically "newspaper" quality carboard print.

That Dragonstein could easily be custom made....matter of fact I may even take on that one since it seems like an easy sculpt to do.

So I've been watching the bits and pieces of the Tigersharks cartoon that is available on youtube, and I'm pleasantly suprised at how unique it is. When I was younger I was never into the cartoon really, I think mostly because I could never seem to catch it on tv. Was there a reason the Tigersharks never succeeded? Did they never get a fair shake as far as beginnings go? Or were kids just not interested? I'd love to see some scans of figures if anyone has em in their collection. Ive got some coming soon that I'll put up when i can. Does anyone else really like this series?

Right now it's a beautiful display of cardboard boxes and plastic storage bins. With my spring cleaning I'm including time to get stuff set up in my studio. Hopefully I'll have some pics to share then.

That's a cute line! I especially like the ray-headed green guy! Very original, this one. The flippered-dog is fun also. A marine life toys freak like me has to be pleased with an original line like this.

There was an unproduced "transformation" playset that was essentially the bridge of the Tigersharks ship and its big hatchway that led to the water. There was a scout vehicle but I believe it was actually made in rediculously low numbers and I believe a couple females were protoed too. Does anyone have LJN catalog scans of this line? I'm pretty sure Tomart's ran them in the past but I can't find them online.

Toygiant, so a scout vehicle was made? Are you referring to the Sharkhammer or the Sark vehicle?

There hasn't been any evidence of a second series of regular figures being in development, but they were planning a larger (presumably boxed) figure of Dragonstein. Besides the aforementioned 'Fish Tank' playset, there was a large Sark vehicle planned, as well as a Sawbill cycle and Sharkhammer. I have heard those rumors that the Sharkhammer was produced, but I have seen zero evidence of this, and have been looking for one for ages. I think these rumors persist because it was pictured on the action figure cardbacks.

Dragonstein looks like a creature out of Yellow Submarine. Would've been a great release. The villains from this line are way cool.

Yeah, Captain Bizzarly had a whole crew of neat-looking, funk pirates that would have made for great toys.

They're relatively tough to find, and I think because the line and show did not last long at all. Even finding episodes of the SHOW is difficult. I really liked it, but I like all the rankin bass stuff that came out. It wasn't thundercats, but it had all the familiar voices, so it was fun to watch. T-Ray seems to be the easiest to find, the bad guy, and the rest are a lot harder.

Beauty. I used to watch the toon, never knew they released a toyline. I like the look of these more than Thundercats.

They were definitely unique! I like the toon, but I don't remember it being on t.v. There's a few clips on youtube, but not much in terms of full episodes. I don't even know how many episodes were made total. I wish they had done the female in the group as a figure
