WHOA HO HO! Check these buggers out! Put yo' hand in the air if you's a true playa! Won these of of eBay recently, and for a song! I had these guys as a kid in the late 80s, maybe very early 90s. I remember seeing them as arcade prizes and once in a drugstore type setting as well. They are about 4 to 4 1/2 inches, solid with a hollow gullet...the perfect novelty pencil holders! The best way to describe these guys is that they are like the classic rubber monster finger puppets given a full body. As you can see I have many...some are made of harder vinly and some of soft rubber. The sculpts on some are sharp and clean while others are rougher. Some are glossy looking while others are more matte finished. Not to brag, but I'm lucky to have won this lot containing variations! I had one blue and one green one beforehand to add to the lot I won...ooh...two of each, all a variation...it's clearly fate!

Because of their "praise the lawwwd" upward-looking sculpt, it's kinda hard to show off a forward view of these guys. Well, here's the backs anyway: I had the yellow and brownish green one with the head knobs and fin combo as a kid...only I remember mine being a more outright green...I called him "Gankelschnarf"...don't know why! I also had the blue and crimson one which I dubbed "Mankubb" and my two brothers each had the pink and yellow spikey bodied guys which we called "Shaw". Now I've got to name the rest...what fun!!! I think we all one these with tickets as arcade prizes. The green one I got at a drugstore or something like that. Can't remember how they came...tagged, maybe in a PDQ tray? If so, did these guys have a name? Hmmm...

Here's a close-up of the six prime sculpts...for all it's worth. I wonder if there are any other types of monsters...as for variations, Lord knows! I'd love to see 'em if you got 'em. As a kid, we lost these to time...I somehow held on to the blue on for years until I sold him years ago on eBay. It took tow relistings before I sold him for like four or five bucks. Years later, I regretted it and tried to track him or any others down. I eventually reobtained a version of the blue guy and lost on a lot of another blue one and a yellow spiker some time after...they went for a hefty sum of almost over forty dollars! God thing I lost. I won a green one by chance in a small lot of plastic monsters. Last month I stumbled across this gold mine and won without competition for four bucks and shipping (six, I think). I've seen versions of the one green and brownish red guy floating around in mixed lots on eBay right now. Oh, and since I know someone'll ask......no, I'd probably die before I resold these guys...never again will I loose these...not now...not ever...for I dub myself...KEEPER OF THE GOOGLE MONSTERRRRRRRRRS!!!! [ cue thunderclap followed by dramatic music ]

between my girlfriend and i we have all of these as well. such an awesome line! i assumed they were vintage but i've seen them in party stores and vending machines as recently as last year, so i think they may be the kind of thing that is endlessly reissued. probably no way to determine what's new and what's vintage, and anyway who cares? they're awesome.
