The only figure I had from this line was Darkseid but I didn't even know he was from a comic book since I didn't read them (except mini-comics). I probably got him for a gift or either I chose him because he looked "monster-like" but I never really liked him much as he was kind of plain looking, especially after I lost his cape. My cousin had a few too that seemed OK to me (he had Doctor Octagon and I remember his arms were fun but I bored of him quickly. Its kind of neat how a toy can become more cool when you can associate it with something else, comics in this case. I read some comics now and have a lot more appreciation for the line.

I got this from a collector in South America a long time ago. He said it was a prototype, I can't remember what company he said it was from, maybe some of you might know? Untitled by poseablemonster, on Flickr

I saw a car at the thrift store that looked just like the Super Powers Batmobile but was a red/crimson color. I didn't get it because it was missing a wheel, but does anyone know anything about qhat that car was?

If anyone has $4500 lying around, you can be the proud new owner of a Golden Superman cardback mock-up from the unreleased 4th series Super Powers Golden Superman

Although that card is quite cool, how much does it scream end of the line?? "Hey guys, we need a new figure" "Anyone?"....cough "Why don't we just start making the old figures gold and silver or something?" "YEAH, THAT WILL DO, OK THAT'S LUNCH"

Why? Do you just keep finding Penguins or was there a comic or story where there was a bunch of them? It just kinda cool to see this many of any of the same figure for some reason to me.
You need a shit-ton of umbrellas!

Thanks guys. There is a guy in my city who runs a discount/thrift store. He basically buys surplus and overstock items to re-sell. He had made regular trips to Hasbro, Kenner, and a few others back in the day. This lot of Penguins was from a factory case that had not made it to the assembly/packaging line yet and as a result, they were individually bagged with only their coat-tails and missing the umbrellas. I took them off of his hands for short money and opened each one because the baggies were really dusty. The figures were mint. Super Powers Penguin is not rare nor valuable but 52 of them untouched was a super cool find for me.

Yeah, you're probably the only one who has a Penguin army like that. I expected to see a bunch of played with figures with a little paint loss here and there as if you had been slowly gathering them from various places over the years. The real story of how you got them is very cool.

Nice. I've been slowly building my collection from when I was a kid, and pretty much just need all the more expensive figures and vehicles. My favorite toyline of all time.
