I am looking for an action figure I had as a kid (around 1977). It was a small green or black figure (it came in two colors) about 3" tall with a triangle logo on the chest. The legs bent but the arms were stiff and ended in tiny grippy-hands. I have a link to a picture that is close to life-sized. www.flickr.com/photos/srlyman/3672838517It came with a jeep and commando action set that had rope slides. Any clues as to its identity would be great. Thanks.

No its not Starcomm its another line. The figures are pretty simple almost would be dismissed as a knock off . Its by a major company and I forget the name of the line.

This figure would predate Starcom by about ten years. But there are similarities in size and configuration.

jesus you guys are on point with identifying that toy line. i never knew that existed. well not to hijack the thread, but have you guys heard of a toyline of small vehicles that i believe had removeable pieces. some of them shiny metallic and colors of green/purple/orange. they had little yellow drivers that were smaller than starcom and only had hip/shoulder articulation. about the size of diaclones. any help would be great, i got two of the drivers and i saw some on ebay latly but didnt get a chance to bid on em!

i had this figure since around 1976. it came with a board and buildings. it was set up like a military or rescue training camp. it also had a rope slide. his hands have slits in the palms for grabbing certain equipment. he has holes in the bottom of his feet. the emblem on his shirt looks kinda like star trek. but i dont think it is. hes 2 7/8 inches tall. if i hear something that might trigger my memory id appreciate it. so think out loud please!!!! thanks, john Attachments:

Greetings all!
I have searched the net, but cannot find any reference to one of the first action figures toys I ever played with. This was in the mid-70s, before Star Wars changed everything. The action figures were smaller than SWs and very "boxy" and thin. The articulation was simple--neck, shoulders, hips and knees. The legs were almost flush together, as were the arms to the body. The hands had a open slot for accessories...very thin.
They had lots of accessories--helmets, harpoon guns, backpacks, and such. Most packs included a vehicle. They where bubble packed. And they were very thin.
Of the two I remember most were a diver and a helicopter. The copter might have been an inch or two wide, and maybe 4 long. I think I remember it having floatation landers and a cockpit canopy that flipped up. It might have had drop line.
The diver had a little tank complete with snorkel mask, flippers and spear gun.
The only other thing I can recall, and this may be a false memory, is that they were made by Matchbox, or hung on pegs near the Matchbox cars.
I know they were not Fisher Price.
Anyone remember anything about this?

Oh FRACK! That is it! I have been trying to figure that out forever. Thank you very, very much.
Everytime I got to thinking about these toys I would start googling and run searchs on Matchbox action figures, 1970 action figures, etc....not one hit. Again, thank you for your help.

Something that may help - put your search terms in quotations, like "matchbox action figures". It keeps the words together.
