I've been amassing a pile of Secret Wars shield cards for a while now and wanted to start sorting them, figuring what's extra and what I'm missing. First though, I have a couple of questions.....
1) All the Secret Wars guys came with 4 cards for their shields. Is this right?
2) Were there any exclusive shield cards? I know the Tower of Doom came with some, as well as the Decoder set. Were these different cards or just reused cards from old figures? If so were there any other vehicles or accessories that can with exclusive cards that I should be on the lookout for?
3) Is there any websites with pics of the cards and which go to whom? Most are pretty obvious, but I'd like to be sure.
Thanks in advance!!

I have all the Secret Wars figures complete from when I was a kid. I will have to check the shield cards for them (haven't looked at them in over 20 years!).

The Doom Roller, Doom Chopper, and the Freedom Fighter all came with shields and inserts, but I don't know if they were exclusive or not.

what is the answer, how many holograms to a shield from secret wars? I am starting this line soon, and would also like to know.

Four per shield, per figure, plus four for each of the vehicles and playsets that Sanfords mentions above as well as the decoder set. All are original and were not reused twice.

I think I have a shield hologram from the Doom Tower. It shows Captain America walking into the entrance in the first image. The second image shows that the bars have shut behind him, and Doctor Doom is now in the foreground laughing.
Incidentally, while we're on the topic of Doom Tower, what was supposed to be kept inside of the secret compartment?

The Decoder set comes with 16 shield inserts. The two they show are Captain America vs the Doom Roller and Doom climbing into the Doom Roller. I guess they ran out of ideas.

Yeesh, I started this thread almost 2 years ago and totally forgot about it. The funny thing is that I just scored a Hobgob and DD last week. I still need a Falcon and a few of the more common guys. Two years and I'm still working on this line, I really gotta work on this ADD...

Well, I just started this line, and I have a number of holograms and some beat to hell figures. It would really be nice, if there was a site, where you could tell what holos go with what figures. Especially if there were holos that were original to the playsets. For instance, I have the above mentioned cap american and doom holo with the bars, etc. However, I thought that was a doctor doom holo. How can I offically tell?
Anyone out there know of a site?
Also, I'm looking for some holos and weapons, if anyone has extras to sell. PM if you want.

does anyone know bout the foreign south americn secret wars figures...they seem to be originl charcters...I remeber seeing 2 in an ebay auction, one ws a black and white character who almost looked like the daredevil villain bullseye, and then a silver and blue guy who used wolverines body and head mold. A friend of mine also claims he once owned a silver Iron man (the actual secret wars comic line paint scheme) when he was growing up in the netherlands.

There is only three actual unique Secret Wars foreign releases, Electro, Constrictor, and Iceman. There may be many bootlegs and knock-offs, but no other actual Secret Wars characters.

I know they are not official figures, but they were molded by the same company who leased the secret wars molds from mattel (I know this, because one of the figures was in the same secret wars brazilian packaging and was of decent quality...company name i cant seem to remember..glasslite maybe)
I consider them along the lines of like Brazilian GI Joe exclusives or Argentina MOTU Camo Khan. Legitimately produced, just drastically altered for foreign markets.
They are far from bootlegs, thats for sure. They look like they could sit right next to the US released figures and the euro exclusives. the plastic isnt dodgy, its the same secret wars materials, nicely painted by factory macines, no excess plastic hanging off anywhere.....Im going to search my harddrive for the picture now...Hope i didnt delete it...

okay! couldnt find the figures Im talking about, but heres the exclusive doom bike with dull grey doom figure from south america, made by gulliver toys! Anyway the exclusive figures I speak of were in the gulliver packaging, which looks exactly as this doom bikes card art but it has the same dimensions and bubble as the us/euro figures.

The only figs I've ever seen released in the Gulliver packaging are the same as the Mattel counterparts, minus Electro, Constrictor, or Iceman. Another company may have released some other characters, but I've never seen them. There was a batch of figures called "Action Heroes" that used similar molds, but they never made any Marvel characters. Here's some of them (minus the two Wolverines); Here's more of the Guliver versions;

There's four of them. They show up mostly mis-listed, sometimes as Secret Wars prototypes, which people fall for and drive the price up.

Wow that is very cool. I never new about those south america releases. I have a complete set of the US Secret Wars figures. I hate how the red bleeds (no pun intended) on the Daredevil figure. My favorite of the line is till the SPiderman in Black Costume. I have always wanted to complete the collection owth the EU Iceman, Constrictor and Electro but have not been able to pull the trigger to spend the $$$ to purchase. Maybe I'm hoping to buy some ones collection and TA-DA! Have them be a part of the booty! GOOD HUNTING!

The third series figures are definitely rare, but not completely out of reach. I see all three carded on eBay periodically, with prices ranging from $60-130. Obviously worth it if you're a completist, but the figures are honestly nothing special if you're just a casual fan.

The 3 Euro figs are the only ones I don't have, but I just can't bring myself to spend that kind of cash on them. I came close for Iceman, but ultimately there's just too much other good stuff to spend money on.
The Gulliver figures are cool, but I wouldn't bother picking them up unless I saw them in a flea market or something. Once again I can't bring myself to plop down the amount of cash that these guys want for them.

Deos anyone know what shield inserts match up with what characters exactly? (Yes some are very easy to figure out without acutal proof)
Or even better, does anyone know a website that actually shows all the inserts matching with their figures?
Thanks

Which ones in particular? I have a few carded ones I could check for you.
