I have been lucky lately and found several video games system, all vintage, Atari, Colleco, Sega V1 and today a Canadian made Leisure Sytem...all these were in super shape, complete and came with boxes....
Just wondering what people think these are worth and if anyone collects old style systems.

Is this a cart based system or is it stand alone with lots of cool B&W pong games built in? Seriousily though if they have their boxes and all the inserts and stuff that should increase their value exponentially. I have wanted to get into collecting video games, but lack of space and money have kept me out of it. I have a few I need to sell as well actually.

The only one I ever got into was the Atari 2600. I have the system and the original box with 4 regular joystick controllers, 2 pong controllers, and 35 games. I love it and even with my PS2, Game Cube, PSP, and my DS everyone still loves my original Atari. I do know that a good Atari system with some decent games used to run around 35 to 55 dollars in late 1990s, but everyone had more spending money then.
I did sale the Atari 2600 James Bond game for around 26 US dollars to someone in GB a few years ago, so some of the games can be rare!

I'd like to hook the ol' pong system up to my projector, but there are some compatibility issues. In the olden days sound and vjieoo all came thru one cable. Not so anymore. So until I get an adapter everyone'll have to be satisfied with the infrior newer systems ps3, 360 and wii.

I don't really collect them, I'm just a pack-rat when it comes to them. I have a Genesis with Master System convertor, 3DO I can't get rid of because it's got Wolfenstein, X-Box, N64 (need my Turok fix) and Dreamcast. Just seems like a shame to get rid of them because each one has a few great games.

Commodore 64! Anyone still have their Intellevision with the big telephone controller? My uncle had one, used to love the Skiing game, and D&D.

I'm a huge fan of old console systems and have sought out many, but I'd never consider myself a "collector." I don't attempt to keep them in collectible condition nor display them proudly. I just obtain the games I want to play and...well...play them. I currently have the following systems all hooked up to the living room television: Atari 2600, Sega Genesis, Nintendo64, and the FC Twin (which plays both Nintendo and Super Nintendo cartridges). I also have a Commodore 64 emulator on my PC since the real system is too much of a pain in the ass to have lying around. If you're curious about the FC Twin (which rocks), I have a review of it posted here. Scroll up to the top of the page. Of all the systems, I probably use the N64 most because it has such amazing multi-player games for parties. Beyond that, I'm gradually working my way through old turn-based RPGs, including the Final Fantasies, Phantasy Stars, and the Shining Force series.

I wouldn't call myself a "collector" but I do have quite a few systems and games. The nice thing nowadays is that you can put your Atari 2600 away and keep it nice and still play the games by buying one of those compilation discs for the newer systems. Then there are always roms, too.

Well, I haven't dug many of them outta' the cupboard for ages. I own;
Silverstar Kingsway Fountain Force II Sega Master System II Sega Mega Drive (known as Genesis in U.S.) Philips T.V. Color Game (a pong machine) Reggie Entertainment System (a hilarious NESclone / Famiclone thing) Two Tomy handhelds - Caveman and Space Laser War Atari Flashback Gameboy Advance PS2.
Recently sold two Vic 20s, got some decent coin for them. Also just sold a Legend of Zelda Nelsonic game watch for not so much.
I also own a Chaston upright arcade machine with a Wardner PCB installed. (but that's not exactly a console is it?)

I see these old systems and old games at garage sales often but I don't know one from another (I was one of the poor kids who didn't have a game system). I've considered picking up an old Atari and collecting the games. My buddy had the 2600 which I got to play. How affordable are those games?
