Over the years I have collected quite a few Transformers... yet would find that they weren't articulate, or would break easily when playing, etc...
What is your favorite Transformer toy and why?
My favorite is Soundwave, but I hate that his knees bend the wrong way.
I really like Unicron for how articulate and for sheer scale, but hate his pointy heels & feet.
I guess the second part would be is there any word if the Masterpiece series will continue? I ve got to get me an Optimus Prime.
Thanks for reading and responding!

Soundwave, he was the one I always wanted and finally got. There have been plenty of others Swoop, Headmasters etc have all been cool, but SW is the man!!!!

I'd agree with Jetfire - both the original and the recent "Classics" release. Of course MP Prime is a work of art that every TF fan should own!
As for the MP series as a whole, the most recent entry Grimlock has been released but there hasn't been much chatter about a new Masterpeice. With the sort of engineering that goes into these sorts of toys it's quite a while between drinks.

It's a tight between all animal cassettes: Steeljaw, Razorbeak, Ravage, Ramhorn and "Condor" (french name of the golden-winged bird cassette). If only I could find a cheap Ramhorn...

Sharctacon. The original from the Movie, I never had him, but he was one mean looking machine, love those shiny teeth!

Bow: Badass... glad you finally got em. Beck: and Sharctacon freaked me out... but that's cool. I used to have em and would always go after the autobots legs like a little dog would to nip, but instead with that big oversized head and freakishly large teeth!

When watching the Transformers: The Movie... they are these nasty robots that chomp on the Autobots... Here you go: Review of the toy Sharktacon: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7FFvDXMOAU

I am really getting back into Transformers... well at least going after specific ones.
I picked up Hound w/ Ravage, Prowl, & Galvatron from Universe Classics Deluxe 2.0 line... and despite some problems with Galvatron I still like him! These are really cool.
Great Transformers that display well, and articulate... I am stoked.

I am really enjoying the remakes of the classics 2.0... These items really seem to capture most of the essence of the cartoon/comic counterparts. I have been downsizing my Transformers, and just going after specific ones... but it feels great to have a good version that is articulated, and rendered much like the character!
Any news if the Classics 2.0 will be continued?

Any news if the Classics 2.0 will be continued? Well with Revenge of the Fallen stuff clogging shelves, the official line from Hasbro is that its "on hiatus" so time will tell. However the Universe 2.0 already marks the second rise from the Ashes for this line. The original line was marked under the "Classics" monkier and suffered the "hiatus" tag with the first TF movie. So if history is to repeat itself, then the future looks bright indeed!

my favorites would have to be... Decepticon = starscream. i know that is pretty cliche, but i love the character, and all the different variations over the years are all good (except that ROTF one, that thing is awful!). plus, with the animated series, he was always my favorite. personality included. he was like the b&w nWo of decepticons. for autobots I like smokescreen and kup. smokescreen looks so cool, and the universe classics 2.0 deluxe figure is amazing! kup is always cool, i'm not that fond of the G1, but the wings of honor botcon is one of the tops on my must have list. his character was an awesome addition to the original animated movie...

I picked up those knock off tapes of ravage and frenzy... they are cool, but slightly larger than the original... so they won't fit into Soundwave. The only other complaint is that Frenzy is backwards... his head is not spring loaded there is a tiny switch to raise it, and his feet face backwards with the the things on the back of his legs now being on the front in this model. Hey, for $1.00 I couldn't complain... was pretty cool.

The Frenzy/Rumble and Ravage were... I got those two. But the Bird was not. I think the Ramhorn (I know that's your fav) and Lion looked just like the original... Once again, the only problem with this line is that these are larger than the originals, so they will not fit inside Soundwave. The other thing was that Frenzy/Rumble has some discrepancies no spring for the head to pop up, etc like stated earlier... I would recommend getting them 1) for good price 2) to customize 3) you cant beat the price!

FoxMor-------, I'm with you on disliking the G1s lack of articulation, and that's why I've become such a fan of the Classics/Universe 2.0 series. Among my faves are: Optimus/Magnus/Nemesis, Jetfire/Treadbolt, Inferno, Cyclonus (love the targetmaster gimmick), and the seekers.

I may be very lonely in these position, but my faves are G1 Jump Starter Twistwist and Topspin. I loved them as a kid, and as an adult I found that toy-wise, in the vintage figure, they're the one closer to the look the robot had in the cartoon in proportion and playability albeit their simple transformation. I just like their bulky frame, big feet and stocky arms with either wings and canons or treads.

My favorite Transformer toy would be firetruck Optimus Prime from Transformers R.I.D. He has great articulation. Comes with lights and sounds. Less than a foot tall in robot mode. Shoots missiles. Doesn't come with a useless trailer or accessories. All of his pieces have a purpose in all of his modes, vehicle, robot, battle station, and super robot mode. That's a lot of features for one toy. I hope I'll get him for christmas.

As a kid I had this nifty transforming hovercraft/spaceship, that would be my favorite Transformer but as an adult I found out it was Go-Bot Pathfinder.
I'm also rather fond of Action Masters, and my favorite sitting in my room is Beast Wars Silverbolt because a half wolf half eagle hybrid is awesome!

I always liked the Headmasters especially the Decepticons- but my favourites are the ones Transformers fans dislike the most:- Action Masters and Pretenders.

Being a robotech fan, I have to go with Jetfire, although G1 Optimus will always be towards the top of ky list. I played with mine forever even after the garbage disposal ate his hands.

Almost certainly G1 Prime. Great transformation, and the trailer was good for hours of imaginary storytelling when I was a kid.
Honorable mentions would include G1 Wheeljack (very satisfying transformation), Diaclone Diattacker (just brilliant in both modes, and so is the transformation), and Power Rangers Astromegazord (brilliant transformation, the two modes look nothing alike!).

This may sound crazy since I don't collect Transformers, but I like the dual-figure that transforms into an ice cream truck. I just wish they made it bigger. I just can't start another line I'm collecting way too much things but that would have been an exception.
