Been watching that one for awhile, wonder what the guys reserve is? I have no clue, but if he bought 10 yrs ago I would imagine he's making a 5 -8 time return on his investment . I have all the un-produced and paid less than $300.00 each . The most I paid was $300.00 for my robed Flair , and technically my buddy that owned a store I used to hunt for paid for it. I'm trying to get an exact number on the legit count on these its tough tracing the sales and changing hands that has happen in the last few yrs.

Well looks like the price went up to $1725 but never hit his reserve

Nobody will use the BIN on that I would think as bidding never even reached half of that the first time around. If he lets it run for a few years though, maybe someone will bite.

The guy that was buying that stuff up actually offered to buy mine but I think the inevitable debt was too daunting . The collector has since looked to sell what he had already bought .

Ah one of the pieces i see as a HOLY GRAIL for my collection. That, Ricky Morton and P.N. News would round out my collection really well but the cherry on top would be the Robed Ric Flair as that seems to be even rarer than Diamond Studd. Wow to have those would make me STOP being a collector as there would be nothing else i needed to get.

Meatybat do you even have the Black Blood prototype, the unpainted one? I have seen a photo of that one as well as the new Lex Luger head sculpt. There was also prototypes (unpainted) of Jimmy Garvin and Michaels hayes in pre match attire to join that line-up. It seemed like there was to be a third series of figures and i would love to see what else was on the prototype table when they lost the contract.

Go here to see pictures of other prototypes. The Diamond Studd prototype on this site has a black border around the green diamond on his trunks so it is slightly different than the one pictured here. members.tripod.com/~bbts/galoobmuseum

That picture is from the auction I won so I guess I have to go look at mine and see if the black line exists or is the lighting. Coincidentally, I own ALL of the un-released ones( yes Flair too) , yeah man .

That's awesome. The WCW Galoob line is my favourite collection and i am always on the lookout for the UK Repaints and any prototypes that come up. Those prototypes would have been great if they were released. I always wonder who else would have been in the newer line-up. I would liked to see a Beautiful Bobby Eaton, Rick Rude, Stunning Steve Austin and Larry Zybzko to make the Dangerous Alliance, Ricky Steamboat, Big Van Vader and a Mr Hughes would have rounded it out nicely. Have you noticed that the Blue Pillman and the Blue Windham are harder to find than the other UK repaints or is it just me?

Yeah, getting the axe handle for Josh, longer belt for Dustin and I'm still on the hunt for a super clean Pillman. I have a good amount yet to get rid of buying auctions to get upgrade sucks. I have about 20 or so Galoob prototypes . I have the Blackblood, alternate Freebird sculpts and big Sting from another line that was never produced. Sooner or later I'll get them out of the box and display tham . Also the Robed Flair, BlackBlood, and Freebirds are limited to one . Studd and others are 2-3(maybe 4) at least of each from what I can tell since getting mine from the same person all the others came from in 99. I think others that bought them have sold them. A guy that live 30 minutes from me has another Morton so thats 2 in Jersey alone.

Last year i saw a photograph of 6 unproduced prototypes, Sting, Luger, Steiner Brothers, Flair and Vicious. They had a talking feature where they were to say lines in their real voices. They looked similar to the Hasbros. Can't find the pic again, it was a seller on Ebay who had it listed with his Galoob figures he was selling. They looked really amazing.

I hac the chance to buy them from the lady originally way back and didnt have $2500.00 to blow . Oh well, they will be mine sooner or later . I can wait it out. They were great the Flair had green tights I believe and looked amazing.

Hey Meatybat i have thought of the ULTIMATE Galoob line-up for a new series. Big Van Vader (in the same pose as PN News) complete with the Mammoth Helmet that is removable. A Rick Steiner (in a similar pose to Barry Windham) Rick Rude in a pose similar to Tom Zenk Bobby Eaton in a pose similar to Jimmy garvin Scott Steiner (in a similar pose to Lex Luger's pre ring attire) Ricky Steamboat (in a Brian Pillman pose) El Gigante (without his Gladiator top in a pose like Big Josh) Nikita Koloff (in a pose similar to Sid Vicious)
Put them in similar poses with slight differences. I think they would be my dream line-up for a new series.
Really am disappointed they never released PN News, Diamond Studd, Ricky Morton, Flair with robe, Freebirds with Robes and Black Blood.

Have had confirmation from my Mum, she bought a UK Exclusive Arn Anderson for me at a market for 50p, thats not even $1. She said it is in good condition so my brother will be bringing it with him when he arrives on Sunday. That's another one off the list.
(p.s. This post marks my 500th post, Yipee for me ;D)

A question I just thought of about the tag-team sets. Are they the exact same figures that were released individually (both for the US & series 2 UK repaints)? Or did any have slight paint variations from the singles?

The Steiners were both paint variants as well as Flair , Anderson . They are also released as tag sets and single . Galoob was pretty lazy as they like to just take existing head sculpts and mod them onto the new bodies. Thats why Lugar never had the hair pulled back on the pre-ring and just had the reg release head. I also have a very crude Freebirds sets that just have the heads from the existing ones on the new robed bodies...lame .

Meaty, What crude Freebirds figures had the heads before the robed ones?
