I heard that there were 10 second series figures that weren't produced for the Pirates of Darkwater line. Just wondering if anyone has any info or pics. Maybe a Hasbro toy catalog from 1991 or 1992? I did come across some hardcopy pics of two of the figures here: Ren V2StrantI also noticed some smaller pics on the bottom of the pages out of a catalog.

I'm still banging my head on the wall for being the runner-up on those two auctions to Alex :^(. I've got a few hardcopy heads and limbs from POTD, but I think it's all first series stuff. The pieces came from the same source of the hardcopies you linked to 10incher so they may very well be 2nd series. When I pull them out of storage next time I'll have to check . Since we're talking about POTD, check out the figure on the left: It's a hand painted Bloth 2up that weighs nearly 10 pounds. It's definitely one of my favorite pieces. -Timothy

It ended up being 400, but I think it was a steal though. I don't think it's too bad considering how long I've wanted something like this. That's why I more or less had to transform my collection into something smaller and more focused. Although I am kind of glad I did it, as my gf was already not very pleased with the amount of space I was taking up!

Ya it's been a grail of mine since I was a kid. I honestly can't believe that show isn't more popular, it was such a cool mix of pirates and fantasy. I would die peacefully if I ever saw a new series get made or maybe a sequel series. It had so much potential!

Does anyone have an image or two of the 2up Bloth or any other proto's or 2 ups? I remember bidding for that Bloth several years ago but was outbid, lost the ebay photo's on one of my ancient or no longer functioning computers, so photo's would be much appreciated if you could post any. also the 10 pics featured in the toy fair Hasbro catalog in 1992 was recently added here: piratesofdarkwater.net/?p=632the catalog itself had sold on ebay for a pretty penny for what it is.

I think I would probably sacrifice 90% or more of my collection if it meant getting something really special like that. I've made similar, smaller moves before and I find it really liberating. I don't think anyone really likes clutter and I know I personally kind of hate it so when I get a chance to go quality over quantity I never regret it. Nice Score!

Not necessarily an unproduced 2nd series piece, but it's definitely something unique I think. I can get a better picture of this doll soon, but he's roughly 9 inches tall. The seller said he bought them at an auction in the US. He's made of some pretty cheap plastic, but he looks like he's in good condition. I went nuts when I saw this. The only label it has is "korea" and some other technical jargon. It does mention Ohio, so maybe they were shipped to the U.S. into Ohio? No idea. But he's got articulation at the shoulders and waist. I really hope they also made some of the other characters from the show, that would be incredible.
