I snagged one of these at a flea market today. It was the rhino-like one with an orange saddle. (bottom of the two w/saddles in sanford's top pic) He's brown on one side and completely green on the other. I know imperial spray ops were kind of slapdash, but this one seems a little extreme.

Does Imperial still make any of these? I picked up a glow-in-the-dark lizard at the Goodwill today. He has a suction cup on him. It has the old Imperial logo on it, but no year.

Yeah, still make summer toys like buckets, shovels , and all that jazz. Also make bubbles and bubble blowing apparatus . They STILL make the imperial steeds but with no saddles to this day . Saw them at a CVS .

WWWOOOWWWOOOOWWWEEEEWWWOOWWWOOOOWW! I love these things! The only 1984 piece I have is a purple-painted sabre-tooth serpent, with hand made saddle and headdress: But, among my collection, I also have this precious 1983 dragon-horse, which has suffered such damage I had to repair it back and forth: I also have the 1983 two-headed dragon, white with purple paint. I would love to have a Rhino Avenger...

Here's my Imperial Monster Collection: and some other monsters I've picked up that I like: How come you have three Rhino Avengers, three Battle Beasts, two purple 1983 hydras and two 1983 blue hydras?

Actually I have a few more of these since I took that picture. I bought a whole box of these and other dinosaurs at a rummage for $10. Some kid loved collecting dinosaurs!

You were right, Drekkus: these ARE from the "Defenders of the Planets" line. But how come they look sooooo Imperial-like? Could it be that one same artist worked for more than one company?

Well, it could be King Kong, since Imperial also made a Godzilla figure, if I remember well.

I don't think the King Kong is from any spesific line. Imperial also just released random beasts not always in boxes or cards, just like the cheap dinosaurs you see on shelves now-days. And yes, let's try and stay on topic people.

Sadly, I remember seeing a lot of those as a kid, but never owning as many as I would like to. Used to have the blue winged dragon...that's it.
If you have a chance, you mind doing a side view of the smaller, browner "Fraudzilla"? I think I remember handling one, but am not sure.

I bought the Winged Dragon thing at a loose figure shop in my hometown a few days ago and a kid remarked upon "How cool toys were back then, and how he feels "screwed". It speaks volumes about the long term market for these babies.

As for the Robots, Lasers, and Galaxies beast with cart sets...I need some confirmation...
I have never seen any of these out of the box, so I'm just wondering how many pivoting guns officially come with the seated battle carts. I recently found a loose one on eBay by some miracle. The seller said it was missing guns, of course. Looking around at old pics...the artwork on the packages show the battle carts with two large handled guns and two smaller ones on the bottom part. Mine came with two large guns up top, and one smaller gun on the bottom. Obviously, only one small gun was gone. As for the top...there are slots for four guns...the toy came with two, but the artwork on the boxes shows two (which may be meaningless). Most packaged samples I've seen have the back of the cart covered so you can't see if guns are supposed to be there or if these two back slots are meant simply for optional placement.

I scored the Mammoth at a 2nd-hand place Friday, sans accessories. How difficult is it to find?
Love this line. If anyone's selling anything (with harnesses) I'd be very interested.

Anyone have advice on how to remove a saddle without ripping any parts? Same with putting one on a mount w/o one.
I'd really appreciate it, thanks.

Hey. anyone ever see these before?! They seem to be mini (well, smaller) versions of various Imperial monsters toys. Sadly, they have no markings other than an indication that they are made in china. They are made of solid, hard, glossy vinyl. The sculpts seem to be sharper than on the larger Imperial ones.

A few years ago...maybe longer...KB Toys sold some weird dragon/pteradon type monster figures. Kind of an odd release for the early 2000s, but hey. Here's one of these babies next to the smaller Imperial Godzilla. It's solid but has articulated limbs. Kind of a Rodan ripoff. There were two sculpts each in two colors that I know of or saw. There's this version and one with a more dragon-like head (which I sadly no longer have). Aside from this blue color, they were both available in tan with red back.

I've seen the smaller Imperial ones, but know nothing about them, besides they're cool as hell. At TRU they have these huge foamy type dinos and dragons. They're really neat, but huge and kinda pricey.

i've got the small 2 headed dragon in solid black, and the small winged dragon, but made of soft rubber.
As for the pterosaur style ones, i bought one at KB around the same time, but it was tan and red, and had an open mouth. they also made the closed mouth version in these colors. the blue one is awesome!

Okay, the Imperial beast mounts...I've got a quick one...the two-headed dragon...did they ever make a single-headed version in the same sculpt? Just asking 'cause a while back I stumbled across one on eBay and inquired with the seller since in the picture you could, strangely enough, only see one head. It was only a side view photo, the seller told me that yes, it only had one head. I mean, the picture was fairly clear, and I could see the sculpt matched the Imperial two-header. Alas, I didn't win it. Almost forgot about it...meant to ask a while ago...so, any input? Was it maybe damaged or altered?

Rest assured it was only the photo angle; they never made 1-headed DKDs. This photo is very old but I had a question. I have the same purple 2-legged dino, he's marked Soma, I believe it was 1987. Anyone know the toyline it goes to?

Does this exist? Yeah, don't have one so had to do a drawing (I guess it might help jog memories). Anyway...I remember being young and in some pharmacy or general store in the 80s with mom...I saw some cool monsters on the shelf and wanted to scope 'em...I remember mom yanking me away and out the door on our way. Got a decent look but never got to hold/clutch one! Was a long time ago and nver saw anything like it again. Basically, I remember some monsters around the size of the Imperial beast mounts in a bin. They were mostly purple and blue, solid vinyl or plastic. Naturally don't know the manufacturer...Imperial? Dor Mei? Chitech? AAA? Maybe just made in Hong Kong or whatever....I remember this purple griffin for sure but hey, I was young. ANyone else remeber seeing this or even have one? Possible proof he might exist: sometimes toy companies made smaller versions of larger vinyl monsters and dragons. I've seen rubber griffin party favors in mixes of bagged monsters before. I know a lot of Imperial monsters and dragons got the little rubber party favor treatment. Any input?
