you are welcome...
yeah, they overprinted the hell out of the marvel comics, they are in quarter bins across the country...that's where i got most of mine, i got some doubles in better shape down the road...deffinately a good place to start...
yeah, i used to be a regular poster on sectaurs.org...and don't tell anybody but it is supposed to be coming back under new managment here fairly shortly...
i'm not sure i'm supposed to announce it officially, BUT a buddy and mine are purchasing the domain name from the original operator and i am gonna be the new webmaster...it has been a long time in coming to get the deal finalized and completed, but it looks like it is happening finally...
i'm not sure if we are getting the old content and forums(as i'm not personally handling the deal), BUT it'll be back up here sooner or later...
i'll be sure to let ya'll know when exactly...

Hey, that's great news!!!! Sectaurs.org was the only decent site on the web about Sectaurs, and I was very dissappointed when it closes. I just can't wait to see the new site!!!

Sectaurs is an awsome line! I have a complete set, and can't wait to open up my Hyve once I move. I have all the figures and insects complete, but all opened. I find it is more fun to collect things when you can play with them!!

I've been wondering what was going on with that. Please tell me your buddy is TG...he's the biggest Sectaurs fan out there so there's no better person to have it. Also who were you on the boards? My sn is basically the same, just lacking the Toy Bay part. Lastly make sure to post when it's up and running so I don't have to keep checking on a currently dead domain That and I'll need to scan the style guide for you guys, I promised it to Martin about 1000 times but just never got a chance to do it. I wasn't single back then though, now I've kicked her out and I'm back to having all kinds of free time

ya, i'll deffinately let ya'll know when something is back up...
YUP, deffinately need the scans of the style guide STILL...so feel free to PM me if ya get it done, like i said i don't know if we are gonna get the previous content or not, but the style guide needs to be there either way...
i was Battlebug or BattleBug999 on the boards, good to see a few people are still around and there is still some interest in Sectaurs...

I thought I was the only Sectaurs fan until the site showed up and then TG just blew me out of the water. He's actually helped me stop spending some money on Sectaurs items though. Before I used to go all out on anything odd and strange, now if I see he's bidding I just look the other way I need to get that style guide scanned and eventually figure out the different printings of the mini comics as well. I have a few other random things I'll need to get you guys pics of once you're up and running. Odds are TG has picked up some of the same stuff since the last time I talked to him. Anyway glad to see the deal worked out with TG and not one of the commercial interests

Well, I received my dvd from skeletoncrew the other day. I have watched half of the dvd. Let me say that I feel that this show is very original. It is not made up of one different episodes that have nothing to do with each other. It is made up of one storyline that is broken up into different episodes. The dvds make me want to pursue this line as much as I do with Thundercats (and I might since Thundercats prices on Ebay are crazy). This is a very unique show, sort of like a TMNT except with bugs (as the planet was mutated). The show needless to say rocks. The characters are very unique and toys sink right up with the show. If I was any good at animation I would love to take the figs and make a Sectaurs episode. I especially love the puppets/riding bugs. Not so big on Dargons paraflyer. I wish he rode Spidrax's giant spider. Any way its awesome that there vechiles are giant bugs. The only other show I can think of where the characters either walk or move around on there friends/companions/body guards/ is Xiaolin Showdown (one of my new recommend shows I love it). Well good reviews all around for Sectaurs here. Hopefully this will create some more discussion of a good show.

Damn this site.
I've been fighting the urge to start collecting these but the above picture just forced my hand. I had almost the complete line back in the day and sold them in a garage sale. That unreleased series 2 photo just drove home how cool this line was and I couldn't stop myself from an impulse purchase. I just bought a loose complete lot of thye whole line on ebay.
I know I should have savored the hunt and picked them up one at a time but I work for a living and can't be trolling ebay all day. I got all 9 figs with their insect buddies or mounts. The winged mounts even have all four wings with extra wings included in case they break. The figs have all their weapons and gear and the seller says he is throwing in doubles, sometimes triples of most of the weapons. I just couldn't pass this up.
Damn this site.

I just got the lot of Sectaurs figs from the ebay auction I won. They are in pretty good shape overall - just need some dusting. I am missing more accessories than the seller originally stated so I'll be following up with him on that. But on the flip side there are many duplicate weapons as well. Anybody interested in trading - the one piece I know I need for sure is Dargon's sword. Anyone have an extra?

I'm just like you, I started collecting Sectaurs only a month ago or so. It all started back when I fell back on three I still had since I was a kid, and since I liked Coleco stuff on the Rambo line so much it didn't take more for me to start!

Yeah I caught the "bug" bigtime last month. I'm awed by how cool these things are and mad at myself for ever selling the ones I had as a kid. I just won a Hyve playset that is about 99% complete (just needs the base for the Skalibur gun and the base for the fense) along with all 9 figs, 5 small insectoids and the 4 steed insectoids. Once the Hyve arrives, I'll take some cool pics of the collection. In the meantime, has anyone seen these?
A nice re-imagining/update on the characters.

yup, those were "commissioned" by a former sectaurs.org board member...he logged on and posted, pressed the fan community to envision their version of a sectaurs remake...of course we all through in our various story points and ideas...then he deleted all his posts and disappeared...apparently he was going to use that art(there are also classical dargon and spidrax in that "series") to pitch a comic book series...the artist got wind of it/and or the guy didn't pay up and the artist ended up selling the art off on his website...a buddy of mine has at least one(maybe two) of the original art from this "series"...

I'm really sad I missed the boat on the sectaurs.org thing. I've been scowering the net looking for info on them and it sounds like this site was a treatuse trove. I read in the above that it may make a comeback - here's hoping. Too bad about the art and ideas getting swiped.

Nice re-design indeed, I would have seen some character differently, but that's the fun with such thing. The old Mantor had more personality, is a bit more generic D&D Cleric guy in here, and Spidrax look too Monsterish as the leader. Pinsor, Zak and Waspax are really right on, do. Pinsor being my favorite. The bare chest, wrestler / barbarian edge work real fine! As for the whole comic project, maybe it's best it disapeared at this stage if it had too, that way the artist didn't get drained too much on a dead end project. Still, a viable comic mini-series could be pretty nice.

JONBOY! Meyers is AWESOME!!!!!!! He's a fantastic artist and a good friend of mine. If he got screwed over on these commisions it's really terrible, but he did some really great work. i don't think the hype ever went away on complete, sealed MIB Hyves...i tracked them for YEARS before i got tired of it and picked up an incomplete one for a decent price...
couple of factors that keep the interest up, it's a playset, always popular in the secondary market(and it's huge)...it does tend to loose pieces, the finger puppet, the skalibur gun, and the external railings being the MOST commonly lost...you add in the use of cardboard and alot of people want a nice "new" one for THEIR collection...
also, i don't think we ever got 100% confirmation, but an early sealed Hyve MAY contain the EXTREMELY rare Hyve specific mini-comic...i have seen a few pages of the original art for it, but that is all...i think the original investigation led us to the notion that the first Hyves probably came with their own comic, in later Hyves it was replaced with the over used World of Symbion mini-comic...

Hey, welcome to the boards! I was watching the auction you won as well just in case I lost the other.
You might find this amusing - or infuriating. The winner of the MISB Hyve also recently won a Grayskull/Snake Mountain lot - being sold by the guy who sold me the Hyve. I noticed that he had mistakingly included a couple Hyve parts and Sectaurs weapons/gear in the MOTU auction - yep , you guessed it, the parts that are missing from the lot of figures you are looking to buy. I contacted him about the error to see if he could pull the Sectaurs stuff and add it to the Hyve/figure auction - but he wouldn't because the MOTU auction already had a bid on it. Fortunately, I already had the Hyve peices but getting ahold of the extra weapons and gear for the figs would have been nice.

Wow, small world. I have been checking out these boards for a few weeks now. It is fantastic. All the toy lines featured in the archives, the great conversation, its great.
I am still interested in the lot of sectaurs, even if it is missing some accessories. I am sure someone on the board can help me out, if need be.

My Hyve finally arrived. I'm in love. I know it has been said before but... it's freakin' huge. My kids who aren't easily impressed by yesteryear's toys, were blown away by the size.
We've been having a blast battling on it and trying out all the gimics. Naurr is probably our favorite feature - its great to have him pop out, snatch a Sectaur and pull him back into his cave.
My 8 year old whipped out Marvel's Sectaurs issue one and used the Sectaurs alphabet decoder to decode the writing on the barricage - he was tickled that the message wasn't what you'd expect.
I was also impressed with how accurate the cardboard backdrop of the Hyve is to the one shown in the cartoon. In episode 5, Dargon busts in to the Hyve to face Spidrax and Skulk and the scene takes place on the top floor of the Hyve. If you pause this scene and compare the background in the scene to the playset (like we did - cause were geeks), you'll see that the animators were definately true to the source.
My only critique would be Vypex. He's cool and all but compared to Naurr who is huge and creepy, he seems too small to pose a threat. I'm thinking of ways to customize a bigger version that would still fit through the hole but will be a more equal tag-team partner for Naurr.

Here are two shots of the Hyve - but technically mine isn't complete because it is missing one part (the stem on the Skalibur gun is a custom reproduction I fashioned). I emailed you a list of parts as well.
