It looks to be a catalog with pictures and names of the figures.

Dopeness! By the way, there was an unpainted ver 2 Kelek prototype (the one they didn't release, with the lizards crawling on him) on Ebay a month or so back, not sure if it sold or not. I think they wanted like $999 opening bid.

So did anyone jump on any of those LJN AD&D prototypes that just went up? That Valkeer looked incredible.

I don't think any of them sold other than the weapons lot. I'm sure we'll see them on Ebay again soon though.

Hopefully that Valkeer goes up again for less next time! That sculpt is so cool, but the painted version is ten times cooler.

Here's a peek at the progress on the Rise of Warduke game: In this video, Strongheart finds himself in trouble in the enemy castle.

Thanks guys! Once it's finished I'll post a link so you can download it (it's free) and try it out. I know that working on it has inspired me to buy more of the toys - funny how that works:) I've got all the series 1 figs here on my desk.

Nice. I'm still chasing Hawkler. lol. Once I have him, all I need is the 2 hardest to find figures, Sheild Shooter Young Male Titan and Shield Shooter Ogre King, and I'll have all the figures. (and I need Tiamat and the Fortress of Fangs eventually, I'll have to find a way to make room for the fortress though, and Tiamat, since my AD&D shelf is completely full now...)

I'm the same way with the Fortress of Fangs. I used to have it maybe 10 years ago but I sold it. It takes up so much space but it's such a cool playset at the same time.

Has the 'Bullette' prototype ever been found? also known as the re-painted 'Lizzor' prototype seen in Thundercats catalogs?

I've never seen one for sale anywhere. Either Bullete or Snake Cave Playset. (I'd LOVE to have either, but I'm sure if one did get out, I couldn't afford it anyway...)
*I did see something cool looking though the advanced search option on AD&D on Ebay, a carded Warduke pencil sharpener. Wish I had seen it when it was listed, but i always search AD&D under action figures, not just Toys, since then you get all the metal mini figures and all the games and thousands of results. Also, saw n AD&D Viewmaster reel/pack, went for around $30 I think. I almost big on it but I bought too much already this month...

The un-produced Fat Kelek and Valkeer were both just up for auction on ebay last month. Would have snagged them but the price was astronomical.

Hi, I just stumbled across this forum and saw the prototypes posted, I never knew they even existed, I heard about the snake pit set before and saw pictures of it, does anyone know if there are any more unreleased figures out there?
I was more Star Wars when I was a kid although never had many figures, I asked for some AD&D figures after seeing some of the ones my friends had (Zarak, strongheart and Warduke), I got some for Christmas but they were mostly the larger shield shooters (Ogre king, Mandoom, Young Titan), I had the Fortress of fangs, Elkhorn BM and Knightmare but no warduke, I remember at the time I was a bit disappointed as the Shield shooters seemed to be much bigger than the figures my friends had and didn't really fit very well in the fortress.
I didn't get into collecting until a couple of years ago when I found Mandoom in my parents attic, unfortunately minus his shield arm, I looked every where but no luck. I have the fortress but of course there are parts missing, like the ladder, I think Beastman must have stolen it in the battle of 86 so he could storm castle grey skull. It's funny though, the box it came in is probably worth more than the playset, wish I had kept it. I always wanted to extend the fortress with a snake body, it was by far the best playset of any toy, trapdoors, moving wall, spring up floor, the ewok village was crap and castle grey skull only had a drawbridge or should I say jaw bridge.
I think Zarak is probably the coolest looking figure of all time with his black leather, bright hood, green face and red spots and of course his stumpy little legs(like Messi). He is a must for any figure collector even if he is virtually worthless, I have several of him. The only thing that let the whole thing down was the lack of articulation in the horses, I mean Nightware looked unbelievably cool but his static pose never really did it for me.

Are you guys familiar with the toy maker Chap Mei? They have a line of amazing fantasy toys that fit right in with LJN D&D. Some of the older one's are hard to find but the fantasy Chap Mei lines are: 1) Legends of Knights 2) Medieval Kingdom 3) True Legends You can find True Legends at Toys R Us right now - there's a great tower with a ridable dragon, ridable griffons and a 2-headed dragon. Just search their site under "True Legends"

Yeah, Chap Mei makes some cool stuff. Never saw those before though, I'm not very well versed in their toys...

The thing with Chap Mei toys is they are distributed differently across the world -- some stuff only comes out in Eastern Europe and Brazil, so it's impossible to find in the United States. Other stuff is easy to find - and remember that it all appears under different 'brand names'. So in the USA, if you go to Toys R Us, there are Animal Planet toys (dinosaurs etc), True Heroes (police, military, firemen etc), and True Legends (pirates, fantasy, ninjas). These are all made by Chap Mei. When Chap Mei discontinues certain lines or toys, they pretty much vanish. By that I mean that they aren't easy to find on ebay or amazon once they're gone. That's why I posted the links to that tower, griffons, 2-headed dragon --- they're really affordable and available right now (probably because of the Hobbit movie that came out), but 6 months from now they might be off the shelves and you won't find them on ebay. So get 'em while you can. That tower is about 40 bucks and it includes a large ridable dragon, a catapult, a battering ram and 4 figures too. These Griffons are great - perfect mount for Peralay! They have movable legs, head, wings, tail - they're very posable. At the risk of sounding unredeemably nerdy, on Peralay's card bio it does say "Count on the elf fighter to come into battle riding a giant griffon or some other magical mount with his magical sword flashing over his head." In the D&D cartoon episode "Valley of the Unicorns", Kelek rode a giant wolf mount. If you're in the UK, you can get the Medieval Kingdom castle still - it's been released under the Chad Valley brand name. Castle PlaysetThis playset is big (you can see the entrance in scale with my D&D figs in the post above), and a great place to display your collection. Lastly, the Chap Mei Cyclops from their Medieval Kingdom line - still available in the UK as the "Early Learning Centre - ELC Cave Troll" and some knights that come with the castle playset, perfect army for Strongheart to lead into battle (and with the same articulation he has)

Really cool AD&D/Chap Mei mash-up there. Works nicely together. I totally love that Chap Mei are out there for kids nowadays, nothing too flashy, just cool sculpts and affordable figures for play. I don't really see any other Independent's out there releasing these kind of playsets or beast mounts either. Oh, and Warduke, I really wouldn't be too worried about being considered "irredeemably nerdy" for knowing Peralay's card back, at least not on this site!
