Me and Grizzlor have been trying to figure it out. I have a ton of pics to try to get up. I have all the ones pictured except Anobe headed one and a bunch of others not pictured. Just won a lot of really brutal ones with the solid leg and ball joint big hipped ones with some really brutal Street Fighter ones.

I just picked up 8 of these guys for about 3 bucks half have belts, but the stickers have peeled off. I have the stickers, but I have to re-glue them onto the belts. Great little KO line.

Okay, I just touched on this on another thread, but I'll post here too. Trying to get my facts straight! I have a Tomarts that shows the Batoon and Anobe wrestlers above packaged in a 2-pack under the title "Wrestlers Main Event" .......... but it says the producing company is Emson. Are Madison wrestlers the same as Wrestlers Main Event. Is the Tomarts entry just erronous (as they've been known to be sometimes)? Even though the back of the card above says Wrestling Champions; Wrestling Champions is a whole 'nother line shown here www.virtualtoychest.com/c/champwres/champwres.htmlAnyone got some enlightenment???

Emson and Madison aren't the same The emson wrestlers main event share bodytype with the wrestling champions from your link madison wrestlers share bodies with galaxy fighters The name wrestling champions is just so generic that more companies used it, madison added the phrase tag team heroes to it The tomart entry is right

Oye! The world of 5-6 inch KOs grows bigger every day. I've never even seen these types before!
Definitely one of the better looking wrestling knock-off lines.
Appreciate the time & pics, Drekkus.

I haven't been on here in a while and thought I would share what I came up with as far as the Madison figures and other wrestling figures. To spice them up a bit, I have added several different tattoos, even sleeving some of them. Enjoy the pictures, I will post more later. BTW, if anyone has any Madison wrestlers they would like to trade or sell, let me know, I would like the Apollo Creed and the one with the dark hair and beard (I have several of the same guy but he has a headband and gray beard). I also have others not listed on this board in the photos posted, I will try to post those in a bit as well. Attachments:

Madisons are definitely among the finest wrestling knock offs around & a personal favorite. The "Apollo Creed" is one of, if not the toughest to find it would seem. I like those tattoo stickers. They could work on a lot of different figures

Anyone have a picture of one carded or of the card back? Curios to see if they were given name or numbers.

I vaguely remember these, although I don't think I've seen some of these versions before. Did the company make a ring for them as well?

Can someone re-post the picture of the "Apollo Creed" looking figure? I have seen 15 different figures from this line and never saw an African American one. If he is one from this line, then he will be the 16th. Also, there is a ring for these figures. It's blue with "Wrestling Champions" on the middle and sides. The ones I need is the guy with the brown hair & beard, the one in the black mask, a guy in yellow underwear tights & boots with white wrists & a blonde mop top hairstyle, and a guy with light gray or white hair combed back with thick sideburns and pointy ears. I have versions of the last 2 I mentioned from a different line, but not the ones from the Madison Wrestlers.

Is this an original or a custom? It looks like it was made with the Mace Ape, Robic or Walph body with an Apollo Creed head. Looks cool! Would love to find one!

I have never seen the gray masked one, nor have I known of variables with 'staches! I have seen the blonde one in blue trunks with a 'stache on ebay, but I thought the owner did that himself to make him more Hulk Hogan like.

I have only seen the gray mask on the Madison body one when I got him. They use the head on the Combat Wrestlers, Wrestling Champions lines and the long legged Combo style body but I think this was the original they knocked it off from . The brown beard guy and the Anobe came with the ring and the Apollo is the real deal. you name don't have the laces on the boots like this one and its not an exact Apollo head..but close. Its an all lazy production original .

The bald guy with the yellow and white trunks with the blue boots, I have seen, in a photo only, a variant where he had a moustache and ring of hair around the back of his head, sort of like Jean Luc Picard. Has anyone else seen such a variant for that figure? Also, Meaty Bat, in the front row of the photo you posted of the Madison wrestlers, the guy in the gray/red mask and the guy with the gray hair and elf ears, are there any variants to that and how did you get those guys?

Here is a picture of my Madison Wrestling Champions. The Guy with the Grey Hair & Chops with Elf Ears in Red Trunks (Tinja) and the the guy with the Blonde Mop Top & Yellow Trunks (Lemur) aren't technically Madison Wrestling Champions. That includes the guy with the Brown Beard in Long Blue Tights (Mackintosh) and Grey Masked dude in White Tights (Grey Wolf) of Meaty Bat's as well as the Apollo Creed (Black Cyclone) of Sniper-Toys. They are a different brand of Wrestling Champions that use the same card as the ones from this: www.nuevadominion.com/eternia/imagenes/usuarios/19c2c320e135ca1db447739de9eabebbwrestling_champions_black_cyclone_web.jpgwww.nuevadominion.com/eternia/imagenes/usuarios/3077defcb287267a3dd305175337822fwrestling_champions_back.jpgThey have the exact same molds as the Madison Wrestling Champions, from the body, to the trunks, to the wrist bands, but different heads. The only one I have never seen is Killer Joe, who may be the one you referred to as Picard. If you have the picture of the "Picard" one, post it up, so we can see.

I will dig through my files. I saw a picture of it (Jean Luc) on e-bay, contacted the guy, he sent me a photo of it and I need to dig it up. I lost the bid for the figure, so I am always trying to find ones I need, like Tinja, Grey Wolf and Macktintosh.

This was a new discovery as I always thought they were probably a 2nd series of the Madison Wrestling Champions. So, basically I have completed the Madison set (not counting variations), and am now on the look out for the rest of this 2nd set. This is now my new priority goal for my collection to get Mackintosh, Grey Wolf, Black Cyclone & Killer Joe.

I am curious of those molds still exist? Those were such well-made figures and pretty detailed for knockoffs, I wonder with today's technology as far as painting and plastic molding if they were ever fired up again the things they could do with head molding and paint details. I loved these figures as they may have borrowed elements from wrestlers like Hogan and John Studd (Ivan the Snake Man's trunks), but were truly unique and their own characters. I wouldn't even know where to begin to get this second set of figures as most people don't know they exist. I am sure there's a box of them in a factory somewhere that was never shipped or sent back.

These figures seem to be regional. Like the Madison Wrestling Champions seem to be found in the United States, Sungold Wrestlers in Europe, I personally believe that this 2nd group of figures might be found around Latin America. Those pictures from the link of my earlier post, I believe is from a Latin American collector and according to the site, the figure came from Panama. The Tinja figure I have, I got from a seller in Mexico. I got Lemur from an American, but who knows where he got it from.
For those who have some, do you remember where you got yours?

Would this second line have originated from the US and/or Europe and can only be found in Latin America? If the market dried up in the US, those figures could have been shipped to Latin America as a means of unloading them. That second line would have to have been around 86-88, possibly into 1990, does that sound correct? The wrestling 'craze' would have prompted a second line but lack of sales due to the waning of popularity at that time may have pushed it to a secondary market, like Latin America or India. 1) Does this seem rational? 2) How do you tap that market in search of these figures?
