I found out today that they are going to attempt to mine retail gold once again by bringing back He-Man and Co. this fall. I can't say if I'm in or not at this point. I owned almost all the figures from the series that began in 2002 and there is a reason I sold them about a decade ago so it would require some thought. The inner 12 year old that lives inside me would probably be thrilled to see MOTU on store pegs again but a lot of thought and opportunity would have to be there. If I was able to attain them I would only be able to afford them at or near retail price, $15 a pop I assume. The vehicles I don't care about because there is no way I would have room for those. I would like a Battle Cat and Panthor of course but I'll just have to wait and see.

Those 2000x figures were cool looking but didn't really fit the aesthetic for me. The new Mattel ones look pretty much just like their original counterparts but with updated articulation, and much cheaper than the Super 7 MOTUC line. I don't really have that much interest in MOTU but might grab a couple of the sky sleds just for some nifty vehicles.

The figures do look cool but I question if I'm into motu enough to spend the money. I'll wait and see I guess.

These already have started appearing on the pegs. Is this fall yet? Too bad i don't need 4 new tires. And a new roof on my house. And a new mattress for my bed. Those types of things kind of get in the way. I have only seen the he-man figure in the flesh and he does look pretty good as does battle cat.

What we're they askin' for them in store? 15.00 for the figures, 25.00 for battle cat and 29.00 for Prince Adam and vehicle.

Damn. Too bad anything remotely good is always wiped out within seconds of hitting the salesfloor by toy vultures.

Well basically it's all gone already except for one lowly he-man figure.

Wow, seems to be the same everywhere. This is why I prefer online shopping. Unless you get to the store right when the new items go up, you never see anything but the pegwarmers in the wild.

The items were probably going straight to eBay to see if they can make a bundle. If not they will probably try to return the items.

The items were probably going straight to eBay to see if they can make a bundle. If not they will probably try to return the items. This thread; yeah basically that's why I bought a crummy DC Robin kid's toy off the shelf the other week, more or less literally, to play with. And I don't have to care about it, or chase it, or idolize it, put it on my altar, and my kid can play rough with it. And yeah, it was so "just a toy". It was easy. I didn't have to trample anyone or punch a forty year old man in the Doritos to get to it. I mean, I'm straight crazy about MOTU vintage. Whereas I observe modern MOTU with keen interest, but very little desire to acquire. Like the pay off wouldn't deserve the effort ... or something. I just wasn't one of those who could ever, I dunno, feel good about splashing out on a $299 green resin block because it's an 'official' Grayskull super-exclusive lump-of-green-crap-block and fool myself into thinking that it carries any of the same magic as when I received my first He-Man and Skeletor together as a kid on my birthday (that was so insanely lit). Even if I look at my shelves now, in addition to childhood recollections, I can remember where I found my vintage toys as an adult, there's little anecdotes and nostalgic moments, mostly in regards to finding them in the wild (but also online with interesting sellers). Modern toys it's generally, "I threw money at that in a store or online" and that's the whole story. Every time. That is just me, I ain't criticizing another soul. I just know there are so many goodies out there siren singing that it would take nothing for me to become Ahab or Quint, simultaneously hating and respecting Masters of the Universe cos it just won't die. (and it took my leg & ate my platoon) That rant said - this line looks great, I would like Skel & He from it, just won't dragon-chase 'em is all. -- Er, what was my point again? Should I further it? - Probably not. Guess I could just wander into a store, go buy Lego Voltron tomorrow. That would be nice. (Italian Chef's kiss) But the buzz I get from finding a 1980 Dengar for 20c in The Red Cross thrift shop the other day is possibly as good. Dengar just looks like such a dopey figure out of context, especially when he's lying on a mountain of woolen mittens which resemble no human hand ever as knitted by the, almost completely blind, old woman behind the counter. With whom I have a haggling argument because I only have a dollar coin and she doesn't want to charge me that much, initially refusing to give me the figure unless I take it for free. Which makes zero altruistic sense because she's working for a charity store. So I incorporate an Xbox game I don't want into the transaction. And all is well. Transaction experiences I won't get at a commercial toy store which stocks Lego Voltron.

All that above and my take is "He has an altar?".
It must be different where I live. i have never found anything at a charity store. Ever. It is all clothes and dishes, used small appliance and books.

Youve never found a toy at a thrift store 😕

Or did you mean "charity store" specifically?

My "altar" has a computer, 2 monitors, phone, etc. I have seen some with toys, but not often.
I have seen a few toys at charity or thrift stores (same thing to me), but they generally are small children's toys like blocks, puzzles, etc. Definitely nothing I could use in my collection. I have rarely seen anything at yard sales, "boot" sales, flea markets or local auctions for that matter. Probably 90% of my collection was found through Ebay or similar sites and 10% through people I have met on forums with similar interests.

rihia2k do you feel strongly about He-Mans or something? Same for as long as I remember. If I ever see action figures in the wild it’s either like a tote of random beat up modern cheapo kids’ toys buried in Happy Meal toys or they’ll be like some butthorn with a flea market stall full of carded POTF2 figures for $30 a pop. I have scoured the tri-state area and DC for vintage stuff and there’s very few spots worth checking out. Even a loser mummy man like Dengar is nowhere to be found in the Goodwill :<

We have waned going to these type sales in the last 5 years since there is never anything reasonably priced if it is worth bringing home (unrelated to toys). It is like any worthwhile item is covered in gold when found in terms of price.

The one where there's a lemonade stand and vintage action figure yard sale at every third house in suburbia. Sheesh, soon you'll probably try and tell me the Empire State Building isn't made of ice cream and if you try real hard you can eat your way to the top, where there's a chocolate sauce fountain waiting at the 102nd floor. And you sure ain't convincin' me there's no cherry on the lightning rod. I done my geography!

We gotta wait for the black friday deals to hit to get the good toilet from Big Lots! That's from the magical land known as Rural King, the store where you can buy a tractor, some new shoes, a few baby ducks, groceries, a furnace and an AK-47 in the same trip

I know. There’s 3 in a 15 minute radius of us but the nearest McDonald’s is 26 miles away. Kind of foolish of them to sell the AK-47s out in the open like that. They don’t even have the bullets in one of those security doodads like they have on the razor blades. I literally made out like a bandit on my last trip.

I haven’t priced toilets lately. Is $120 a good price? Thing looks a little narrow. Might make a cool candy dish to leave on the porch for Halloween.
