Ok, when I was a kid I LOVED this one Hulk figure. I have no idea what the name might be, I don't have a memory of the box, but here's the figure description.
It's a large rubber plastic figure. It has no articulation, just one massive thing. It came with a plastic cage. In the middle of his back...or in his lower back, I forget....he had a nozzle.
Since the upper body was rubber, you could fold him and "trap" him into his cage. Then you blow him up through his back and he "burst" free.
I think this happened manually via a straw, or some small included hand pump.
So. Anyone know what the hell I'm talking about? Any pictures or official names is what I'm really after. That way I can have a basis to hunt on eBay. Just doing general searches brings up way to much crap from the 90's & the movie.
Plus, I'm just dying to see this thing once again without having to cross my fingers to spot it on eBay.

Are you thinking of the Remco 12" non-articulated line? That might be the line. In my mind's eye it's huge, but that's the mind's eye of a child, so I was probably dealing w/ a 12" figure. Definitely remember a cage and the inflatable port in the back. Although now I'm thinking that might have not been an inflatable port. It could've worked by squishing the body from the waist up so the air goes out of that port, then plugging it. Put him in the cage, unplug, and as the air rushes back in, he "bursts" out of the cage. My memory is fuzzy the process.

I know Mego made a Elastic version of the Hulk - kind of like Stretch Armstrong. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the one you're looking for.

That was some kick ass detective work Sanfords! I've never seen that figure before. They sure came out with some cool superhero stuff in the 70s.

70`s were the best for superhero stuff, too bad most of it is burried in peoples memories and it`s really non existant to collectors!!

Speaking of being buried - my childhood home was demolished last Fall. My Mom walked through the rubble and found a Mego 4" Joker. All my childhood toys were given to Goodwill when I went on vacation when I was 13, so this would be the only action figure to survive from my youth. She hasn't given it to me yet. For all I know, she's already dropped it off at Goodwill!

For all I know, she's already dropped it off at Goodwill! Yeah you'd think they'd have the thought to maybe let us choose which are the most important things, when things need to go, rather than chucking it all out. I managed to hide away 5 vintage Star Wars figures and my Vader head collector case from my youth. That's it. Although my mom saved most of my stuffed animals. Yeah, great. Thanks ma!

I had some kind of Hulk game when I was a kid.All I remember is this non-articulated hulk that was on some kind of mound (earth or rubble) It had wheels & you could rev it up & it would go crazy ,bumping into stuff & then going another direction.Seems like the reving sounds sounded like the Hulk's roar. The Hulk was about 5 inches tall I think.

If it's the same thing it is indeed about 12" tall. The legs are solid and the upper half is rubber, you inflate him with a small hand pump and a plastic tube. Pretty sure it's boxed and has the cage and ripping shirt (all a bit tatty though). I'll try and get some photo's if anyone wants to see them?

But if you could ever provide more hi-res photos, including the box back, plus a scan of the instructions, that would be awesome! Cause as much as I'd like to have a boxed one, they're going for $50-100 on eBay and that's just more cash than I've got. I just lost an auction for 2 of the loose figures this afternoon that I'm kicking myself over. They only went for $8 and I lost because I'm an idiot and lost track of time! ARGH!!

Ok, I've got it here. The box is a Marx toys version and it says made in Great Britain. I don't know if it was made here under license as I know Marx used to do that with other toy lines. Also the figure has black hair as opposed to the green in the link above. The instructions are still copyright 1978 Funstuf inc. so I'm guessing these are the same.
I'll scan the instructions for you tomorrow. My box is not in great condition (and my photography's not up to much) but I'll try and take some photos as well.

(I'm new here, don't know the way you guys do things yet) There's a Marx toys version on UK ebay at the moment. Curious to see what it goes for, although it's better condition than mine Yeah, like 10Incher said, post a link here if you can. And thank you very much for taking the time to do this!! Yeah I saw that Marx one on eBay. Recently an American one popped up too. I'm glad to see they went overseas with the toy. Hopefully that means there's a larger chance boxed complete ones won't be as rare as I'd hoped. So far I've seen 3 go over the past few months and not for less than $50. It's my fantasy to snag one after the demand dies down for only $20. Although that auction I lost for 2 loose figures like an idiot? Well, I e-mailed the buyer and he didn't want both so I'm getting his extra for $4.

Nice one on the extra figure Hopefully here are the links, instructions are bigger than my scanner bed so the 2nd is the missing top section Sweet man, thanks for the links! Seeing that they put a safety valve in there, plus having the hand pump not capable of damaging the insides, gives me hope that I can possibly re-inflate him for display when I get mine. Although, even if he's not damaged, he's probably like my vintage Darth Vader bop bag. Where he will begin to lose air after a couple days.

Yeah, if he's anything like mine he'll loose air over time (and quite quickly when being played with if I remember right ) He does seem quite robust though, so, as long as no one has used way to big a pump, yours should still inflate ok. Good luck with it. To be honest the effect is not as impressive as the box would have you believe, but he's still a cool toy

I had this toy as a kid too, and it's always been on my "if I can find one at a decent price I'll jump on it" list.
The problem is, I've seen a couple of these sell recently and from what I'm seeing you'll be lucky to get one for less than $100. And I was turning my nose up at them when they were $50 a few years back.....
