youre stepping into a rough collection situation. awa stuff is real expansive but youll have better luck outside of ebay. and no luck on ebay. but figures like warlord and shawn micheals will cost an arm and a leg. even a good scott hall is pricey. and i wish hbk looked more like him and less like so meathead from a 70's gym.
I have the Fabulous Ones,Ric Flare,The High Flyers,& 2 of the Freebirds (Rose &Gordy).I had a few more when I was a kid...Had the Road Warriors but they just up & vanished from storage...funny how toys can do that.(
I was in a toy store in Orlando 3 years ago that had a bunch of these guys. Not sure if they were complete or not but they were NOT cheap. Well neither was any of the other stuff they were selling. I think the store was called Acme Toys. The place was huge with tons of vintage figures from every line imaginable.

thats the problem with vintage toy and collectible shops they over charge bigtime. i hate that . the fact is that theyre scared that you know something they dont and they dnt want to lose out. and its that fear that makes them overcharge. bastards
Found a good site with info on the line and a list of all the figures released with pics. I didn't realize there were so many in the series. It is kinda weird how their head sculpts look alot like the wrestler with very little detail.
I sold a Ric Flair complete with the belt for $75U.S. about 8 months ago!! I never collected them but have ran into a few at garage sales and flea markets. There was a place in West Edmonton Mall last year called Collectors Edge that had a few.
Yeah it used to be upstairs above Fantasyland in the Market palce, now it`s located near the HMV in phase 3, right across from the elevator going up to silver city. that`s overpriced vintage figure palce. I talk to the owner on a regular basis and he`s trying to move away from the over priced vintage to the over priced newer stuff. You should see his his prices for Marvel Legends!!!!
I have 16 loose figures, all in good shape except for stan lane, his nose is missing, they are as followed The fabulous ones, ric flair, stan hansen, larry zybysko, ric martel, jimmy garvin, all 3 freebirds the road warriors w/ precious paul, baron von rashke, jerry blackwell, and the long riders. I used to have bockwinkel, gagne and henningand a ring but they were destroyed in a fire.
Got in my lot I won on Ebay for $140.00. Had a ring, ring with cage(missing lock) and Rockers with glasses and some commons. The best thing was I took a gamble and bid then mailed him to ask if he had any of the clothes. I then received the sexiest e-mail ever. It said yes there are 8-10 outfits, I didnt know who they went to so I didnt bother putting in picture. Then I bit my lower lip and asked ," Do you have 2 zebra stripped shirts ?". He continued to talk dirty, " yes they are there along with a plastic bag full of other robes and stuff? " COMPLETE ROCKERS, so fresh and so clean, clean. And he also had the things that hold the figures when you put them in the cage that he also didnt picture. NICE !!!
the main event rick flair and zybysko on card another flair x2, zybysko,martel,longriders,gagnex2.baron, and and won two of his other auction with secret wars , magneto, spiderman,dr.doom, and a few others plus as a throw in dc steppenwolf figure with access all for $20.00 us

Odd, every AWA wrestler I've found At flea market/yard sale, cause I don't use ebay, has been a dollar or less. Maybe i've just been lucky. I've gotten about 10 so far, in the past 6 months. most with their outfits. I will post a pic of my collection so far.
Yeah, you can always find the common on the cheap. I have a pillow case full of Nick Bockwinkles . I think I may wait for him to come around for an autograph signing and plop them in his lap and tell him and his little red coated plastic turds to go to hell.

Anybody else been watching AWA wrestling on ESPN Classic? Last week, during an interview segment, they had the 1st AWA ring set up with some figures in it. When they went to commercial, they showed Boris Zukhov's figure in all his glory: red cloth singlet, dog collar & chain; I've never seen that figure before.
Even better, Sgt Slaughter wrestled, and came to the ring to his own 'GI Joe' theme, straight from the mail-away figure commercials.
Last night's card had Cactus Jack, Hector, Mondo, and Chavo Guerrero, Rock&Roll express, Sgt Slaughter, Ron Garvin, Greg gagne....
Other nights have had Curt Henning, Scott Hall, Zbysko, Jerry Blackwell, Sherri Martel, Buddy Rose, Nick Bockwinkel, Bruiser Brody, nord the barbarian (wwf's berserker), Stan Hansen, Midnight Rockers (jannety & shawn michaels), Mike Rotundo, Col Debeers.
As far as I know, they never made a Col. Debeers. Anybody able to confirm/deny?
