I started collecting them a few years ago and picked up most of the pieces on Ebay and from another collector. Unfortunately I never owned any of these as a kid. I only need a few figures and a few accessories to complete mine. It is a super cool line and it amazes me that it was not produced longer. I guess back then boys just didn't play with dolls.

I just got my 12" Obi-Wan lightsaber i bought on Ebay. I spent $20 on it but it was worth it to complete my figure. The MOTU Sorceress staff I sold recently pretty much paid for it anyways.
I only need a Boba Fett to have the whole line, but I want to try and find him complete (it is cheaper that way). The IG88 gun I needed recently sold on Ebay for $30, which was to steep for me.

Just got a great deal on a complete R2-D2 with box on Ebay for $17. He is super white and clean and has both Death Star plans. The box is kinda beat up but its still cool to have. Only Boba Fett and a few weapons to go!

Would you consider the vintage Yoda puppet to be part of the 12" figure line? I kinda do as he is the proper scale and he was a puppet in the ESB & ROTJ movies. I just picked up a loose one at the Flea Market for $5 and he looks great with my 12" figures.

(can't remember) I would like to buy a puppet Yoda with box for my 12" figures collection one day. $5 is a great deal! ;D I bet It'll looks great with 12" figures line. Congrats!

I think you can pick up a loose one on Ebay for around $10-$25 depending on condition.

While I dont consider him part of the 12 inch line as he has no accessories or movable parts (the true halmark of the action figure), he is none the less a very cool vintage toy, and fairly affordable to.

My cousin had one of those when I was a kid. He might actually still have it? We would always make believe that he was Luke and I'd play the part of yoda (through the puppet) traning him in the ways of the force. Good times!

I recently came across a 12 inch Luke Skywalker at a garage sale - it got a buddy of mine and I talking. He said that he used to have one as a kid but his came with a medallion that Luke wore around his neck. I assume it would be the medallion Luke, Han, and Chewie got at the end of Star Wars: A New Hope. I have scoured various sites on the web and can find no mention of this. Do any of you know anything about this mysterious medallion?

The old series 12" Luke didn't come with a medallion, but I think that one of the late 90's 12" Lukes did. Maybe your buddy made one for his Luke.

The vintage 12" Han Solo came with the medallion of which your buddy speaks.

Thanks Grizzlor - in talking to him a bit more he thought he remembered both Han and Luke having one (he told me later that he had a 12 inch Han as well). I'm betting he had the one that came with Han and he remembers it as 2.

I was happy to find a 12" Boba Fett at Value Village last week. He had none of his accessories but was in decent shape and for $3.99 you can't go wrong. He is actually one of the last 12" Star Wars figures I needed and I had a spare belt and gun for him though still need his backpack and cape (wookie scalps to but will probably never find that).

i try to avoid getting out of my one scale or i would go crazy trying to get everthing but i do often consider getting the vintage 12" ig88. i remember like 15 years ago he was way too much but they seem much cheaper now that there have been a few modern company releases of him.

The vintage 12" figures are the best. Maybe my favorite Star Wars toys. Even if they're scuffed or sun damaged, they rule. I'd way rather put money into collecting these then Gentle Giant's big re-boot of the classic 4" figures as 12"ers. I just feel they're too much for what they are.

I agree with Garage sale scavenger on the gentle giant re-boot, they are very expensive. However, I think they are cooler than the original 12" line. The only figure from that line I thought was cool was Boba Fett, I think the others are just a bit mundane!

I have some of this line, including Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett, R2-D2, C3-P0, Jawa, Darth Vader & I too have the Yoda puppet which I definately consider to be part of the set! I'm obviously still after the Stormtrooper, Han Solo, Priness Leia & Obi Wan, & I need a few of the accessories for the others, but can anyone tell me what are the other figures in the vintage set?

I think I heard that Lucas wanted to make all the figures 12" but decided that a scale model of the millennium falcon for the 12" figures would be impossible. I am guessing he made them 12" because 1960s GI Joe figures were so popular. Anyway, Lucas created the 3 3/4 scale and then others followed suit. Such as GI Joe, Micronauts, Black Hole, etc.

I have a complete Boba Fett and a Darth Vader ( just need lightsaber). I am selecting one figure at a time and completing it with Ebay purchases for accessories. I put my Fett togethor for less than $150.00.

I have never collected this line but when I was a kid I remember going to a store and seeing them on the shelf but I was so into the 3.75" figures I never had any real interest in them. I have a cousin that early in the 80's he found a 12 inch C3P0 at a park and still had it last thing I knew.

It took me years (wasn't trying to hard to acquire one I guess) but I found my 12" Fett this spring at Value Village. Had some of his accessories already like his gun and belt so was finally able to match them to the figure after all these years.

I just completed my 12 inch Fett. I got repo wookie braids off EBay. The vintagebraids were very exspensive so I passed on them. To me it does not matter as I would never part with it.

I have the complete 12 inch line. Granted, most have repro parts, but nontheless, I am proud to own them all. I found a guy from the UK who makes repro boxes and inserts for the line. He's definitely received my business and now they are all protected in near original looking boxes.
