I was just reminiscing and remembering some rubber alien/monsters I had in the 70's. I got them from those quarter machines at the front of stores. There was one series in particular I really liked. I found pics of a couple of them: Is it correct to call these jigglers? Is there a better name for these types of toys? prizes? Anyone have any idea what these specific alien/monsters were called? I was surprised to see how much they go for on eBay. I had no idea they were so in demand.

Well it seems I've answered my own question. I'm not sure how to edit the thread title. These jigglers are referred to as "Rubber Uglies" and this specific assortment is "Creatures from the Stars" The red octopus guy in the upper left corner was cool because he was hollow underneath and I could stick him over the head of an action figure.

Jigglers make me feel sick - really, I'm not being hyperbolic to prove a point of anything, because I like the concept of them, who wouldn't like jiggling monsters? But the touch of them makes me feel sick (a lot of odd things make me feel sick, like floor change, plastic toys and soft toys in the same box, and jewellery). Just a weird fact I thought I'd share

There are so many odd-ball things like this that I think of and think "Ohhh, I'd love to pick up a few of those." but because they don't belong to a specific line I have trouble finding search terms for them on eBay et. For example, when I was about 5 or 6 we spent a week in Virginia with my Aunt and Uncle and they had this small store just down the road that had these candy filled plastic space ships. By the end of that week I had the whole lot of them. I'd give anything to find a few, but even if there were some out there, what do you search for? I don't remember what they were called. And "Plastic spaceships, candy " is a little vague .

That's how I felt too, but it can't hurt to try. Google images is great. Just keep trying different search terms and check out the pictures!

It's funny you mention Google image, because I do that a lot when I'm trying to find obscure and odd-ball stuff. I'm always amazed by how often I find what I'm looking for.

Well, I did a Google image search for "Candy filled spaceships" and the first hit I got was it! They were called "Space Fleet 2000". None were on eBay, but there had been a small lot a month ago. These aren't a high priority by any means, but at least now I know what they're called and I can check from time to time.

I think jigglers is the most common term. The Ben Cooper models are really nice, though I'm a huge fan of these old vending types too. I have a box of "Moon Men" somewhere. Any rubber toy coming out of Hong Kong has my vote!
