Chap Mei is at it again! I just discovered the existence of these but Toys R Us put out some new figures under their True Legends banner called Heroes Of Olympus. The four pack contains Zeus, Hercules, Perseus, and Medusa. Perseus is based more on the Titans remake than the 80s flick but we finally have a 3 3/4" scale figure of Medusa which is pretty cool. The four pack is $9.99 and then there is a set that is $19.99 which features a large, two-headed dragon and the Hercules figure. There is also a mega set for $49.99 that features a huge boat along with an octopus and the figures of Hercules and Perseus. I haven't been able to order them yet but the figure four pack and the set with the two-headed dragon are definitely at the top of my short list of wants at the moment. The wrist bands of Hercules and Perseus were paint ops that Chap Mei skipped to probably keep costs down but I figure if that detail bothers me enough when I get the figures that's what a little masking tape and sharpies were made for.

Looks like they borrowed the ship from the Vikings line. I might have to check my local TrU for these, though haven't usually seen any Chap Mei fantasy lines their in the past.

They look to have been released like this in the USA as well. If you goto the Toys R Us website and search "True Legends", you will find most of the line. Some of them show a pic boxed when you click on the item (the boxed pics are usually the secondary pics).

I usually dont like to leave stuff in the box, but these would look great displayed inside them.

These guys are great! My wife recently bought me the sets of Orcs and Heroes. (The Elves look awful, imho) I have been into various Chap Mei lines for ages, didn't think anyone else cared, tbh. (I have a large box filled with nothing but Chap Mei, lines ranging from 'Wizards Magic' on.)
Supposedly there was a line of Vikings, though I never saw it over here.

If by "over here" you mean the US, I understand they were foreign-release only. Anyone interested in Chap Mei should check out Ghouldrool's Chap Mei page!

If only they would articulate these figures! Would you be willing to pay more for the figures if they were more articulated? Just curious. I like the lower price point but the anal "details" part of me would like more complete paint jobs on some of the figures and articulation beyond the standard five points. However, as the old cliche goes, you can't have your cake and eat it too.

A lot of the True Legends line seems to be made by Chap Mei, but these figures don't look like that to me.

Here is the True Legnds Hercules before and after my touch up job with a gold colored sharpie. The rest of the figure is painted well, but I just had to do this!

Did you guys see these ones? Waoow! Those two are glorious. Especially the troll/ogre. Its cool how CM have just stuck to their guns despite being kinda underappreciated and not opting for licensed stuff. I hope they never do. Now theyre bringing more and more cool designs to the table. Chap Mei will be a line to remember fondly for the younger generation.

I don't like how the two arms on each side are melted into another.

Don't forget Darkfire (he's huge!), hes the 3rd one of the latest set that goes with the Battle Troll and Tree warrior. Picked up Darkfire and Tree warrior yesterday at my local TrU but they were out of Battle Trolls. Goonna have to try another location I guess.

I've checked these out at TRU a few times now. The low price, variety and simple articulation appeal to me. I was tempted to pick up the Tree Warrior. I haven't seen the dragon though, that looks very nice too.

FYI the tree monster guy only has articulation on his shoulder joints, just rotating, and hinged fingers and mouth. He's also hollow in back. So he's more like a playset than an "action figure".
But he's huge and awesome.

I could have swore I saw some pics somewhere on this forum of the tree creature "eating" an elf in someone's collection pics.

Picked up the True Legends Hydra & Hercules Playset at a Toys R Us Express the other day. Don't care for the "Chap Mei" Hercules, but the Hydra makes a sick mount for bootlegs.

Just got home from a TRU store and I noticed new True Legends Knights figures. Unfortunately, I don't believe they are Chap Mei product and they are pretty lame. There's a figure four pack, a couple of sets with a figure and horse, and I think one set with a figure and dragon. Sounds neat until you actually see them.
