GW do you have a blue tranclucent Jaga? I don't know if they made one, but it would fit in great with the line. I think there was one produced in limited numbers for a toy show recently.

BONUS! I just got in an accessory lot I won off Ebay and scored Tygra's whip! Didn't even know it was in their! I have been looking for that whip since i picked up my Tygra figure at Value Village about 10 years ago. I love when that happens, got my Lynx-o shield the same way. Now for Bengalis hammer......

As promised a long, long time ago I would post pics of my maroon hair Lion-O. For reference purposes I put red hair Lion-O on the left in the photo. The torso on the maroon variant is also more yellow than orange. Again, my camera isn't ontop of the food chain so the differance between the figures don't look that big, but it's totally visible when seen live. Also, the stamps under the feet differ a bit. The three variants I have (orange, red, maroon) all say "©1985 TELEPIX, LCI, T. WOLF LJN TOYS LTD." under the right foot of the figure. What differentiates the stamps for these three figures is that the red Lion-O says "D2" on the right foot and "D1" on the left, the maroon says "B1" on the right and "B2" on the left and the orange says "2" on the right and "1" on the left. Any ideas?

I pulled out my box o' Lion-O's, and this is what I came up with. I have two labeled with E's (red hair), one labeled C (red hair), two with B's (red hair), four without letters - numbers only (two orange, one dark orange and one red), and four with a mixture of B's, C's and numbers. My guess is that the letter signifies the machine number and the number the lane or mold number. I would guess that they started production with one machine, the one without letters, and this machine had four molds for each leg labeled 1-4. These probably started off as having orange hair and then switched to red hair. As popularity increased, they brought new machines on line (B, C, and D) each having four molds per leg. Eventually they used the E machine which used at least six mold per leg. Please realize this is pure speculation on my part. I don't have maroon hair Lion-O, but I do have a yellow torso/face Lion-O that's labeled B2 and 4. I always thought this one was yellow due to too much time in the sun, but it could be a paint variation. Centurn - do you have the accessories for the Maroon Lion-O? Do the colors match the hair?

Well, I got it off ebay and it came with all red variant accessories. Since I know of no one that has a carded maroon hair variant this guy could just have had this Lion-O lying around and all the accessories from another figure or this is really what it came with. It doesn't look like this figure have been exposed to too much sun or something making the hair change color because it's still all shiny. And your stamps theory sound about right. I also pulled out all my other loose Lion-O's and noticed that one leg can say B1and another just "2". So I'm not gonna dwell on what all combos mean. I'll let someone else do that I am about to display my TC collection so any advice are welcome. How to give them the best climate to keep them from getting age spots, how to clean them and all that. Can age spots and "stickyness" be contagious? I don't want my C9,5 Pumyra to catch action figure smallpox from Safari Joe.

Concerning the age spots, it seems that only a few of the final series of figures get them. It is something to do with the plastic that was used to make the figure that breaks down over time, so I don't think it is contageous. My guess is that if the figure doesn't already have them after 20 years, it should be good. Pumyra, Jaga and Lynxo were the worst for this.
As for the figure stickiness, I have noticed that this can happen to a figure being stored to long inside a certain plastic bag or container. It is some kind of chemical reaction that can happen over the span of many years from the 2 plastics interacting with each other. I have had a few figures I opened that were MOC that had this (from various lines), or a figure that was stored in a cheapo ziplock baggie for 20 years.

I just recalled that I have another version of Lion-O. As you all may know there are: orange hair, red hair, rounded neck and the non-light up mold. I have a maroon hair Lion-O. Does anyone have this variant? I hope it qualifies as a variant. As usual, I have most of my figures boxed but I will locate my Lion-O figures and take a comparison photo to post here. I bought this figure from a guy in Portugal from ebay. It clearly is another color than the red and orange and I don't think it got this color over time due to perhaps exposion to sunlight or what-have-you. It has minimal wear and looks taken care of in genaral. Be patient, pictures will be posted! Meanwhile, anyone else recognize this? My friend what you have is one of the variations on an 8 back Lion O with energizer battery offer.Reason i know is because i received a 8 back Lion O with battery offer and noticed the hair was maroon in color. I always thought 8 backs were all orange. Keep him good because i think it is very rare, as most 8 backs were orange in color and think about it how long were these battery offer Lion O's on the market...Not for long. Here's a comparison pic

the thundercats line is great, i'm based in the uk and was lucky to pick up most of the line for very little, i remember buying 5 jaga helmets in 1 go once for 20p. the non movable snarfer and ravage figures were rather difficult to get though and i had to buy from usa.

Just received a damn fine "as-near-mint-as-one-can-find-loose" Astral Moat Monster. I got it at a decent BIN price too. I recently lost another on an auction and that got me down but had I won it I would have had to pay even more than I did for this fine specimen. Whaahooo!! When will a complete mint Cats' Lair come my way I wonder and at a reasonable price

Ebay is probably the best place to get weapons you don't have. I bought two of Bengali's hammers on there. Now, I have two complete Bengalis. WHoop

I haven't found a Thundercats bootleg thread (if there's one, please move this post). Here's a photo of a bootleg Sword of Omens I bought earlier this year. It's from the 80's and was released by Dickie in Germany/Europe Some translations: Laser sword, needs batteries, with 4 different alarm sounds (pretty annoying LOL) and light

I love researching the few foreign variations of the T-Cats line. Theres very few of them out there and every so often something new turns up! (Those Brazilian figures were basically unknown to western collectors until I brought them to light!) -Play-Ful Argentina Ben Gali with Silver original style Hammer weapon -Play-Ful Argentina Jackalman with Blue highlights -Play-Ful Argentina Lynx-O made with Jaga's repainted Body -Play-Ful Argentina Exclusive 'Shuttle Gun' accessories. Only released in Argentina! -Playful Argentina Panthro with real metal chain links for his nunchaku (not a major variant, but still cool I think!) -The Brazilian repaints with new head sculpts: actionfiguresca.proboards.com/thread/12628/thundercats-molds-used-brazilian-jiban-European Exclusive Stinger -European Exclusive Driller

Saw this on evilbay. Any idea? It said it was 2 1/2 inches tall, but doesn't look at all like the Tcats mini Slithe. Is it a custom?

Love Thundercats but just can't afford to start another expensive vintage line right now. I'd like to have all the Berzekers/Rampagers though, they're cool on their own...

Probably my second favorite toy line aside from MOTU. I was always impressed as a kid with these figures and also the "toughness" of the toys. They were heavy and could take a beating. I always wanted a mail away Mumm-Ra when I was a kid but never got my hands on one until I was an adult. By then, they were a dime a dozen and not at all cool. The more I read the Thundercats related threads, the more I want to start collecting them full on.

I'm enjoying Thundercats too but didn't realise until recently the prices on some of the figures! I'm not looking to collect them all but I like the Bengali figure until I saw the price lol I did pickup a boxed Thundertank with treads for $45 which I though was good - would really like the Mum-Raa tomb as well

I'm two away from a complete Thundercats figure set now - all I need is Captain Cracker and Cruncher, I also really need to replace my Pumyra due to some childhood play-based paint wear and Mumm-ra's helmet (i think) but it's being bothered when I could spend that money on characters I don't have - like Cracker and Cruncher.
The Berzerkers are some of the best action figures produced, and they're durable - my Ram-Bam is in great condition when you consider he's battered down many a toy castle's door in my life alone, and he was second hand then.
Hmm I may need Driller too, I haven't seen him in a while, typical to loose one of the priciest ones.

Hello all !
Nowadays, I purchased a small lot of action figures and it included a Bengali of ThunderCats...
When I got him in hands, I realized his chest was olive green !
First, I thought the chest was discolored by the years or even the sunlight....but it seens only the chest (front and back) is green; the other parts (face, arms and legs), are in regular blue.... On his chest, he has a white armor like a belt...small parts of it lost the white color and it seens the base is really green...
I can read 1987 LJN TOYS LTD. LORIMAR - TELEPIX on his right sole...
Does anyone know if my Bengali is a variant or only a discoloration figure ?
Take a look:
Thanks so much !
