Very few collectors have ever seen any of these figures or know about them outside of Brazil. So I present to you the Brazilian adaptation of the Japanese Metal Hero 'Jiban' This toyline from Glasslite utilized a mixture of the original Japanese toys from Bandai and the re-used bodies of Monkian (for exclusive figure 'Morfus') and Vultureman ( for exclusive figure 'Abumaru'). These were released in 1990 when Jiban was very popular and aired on Brazil Television! Anyone else ever find them? Morfus MOC uses repainted Monkian body with exclusive(?) head mold. Morfus Loose Abumaru Loose uses repainted Vultureman body with exclusive(?) head sculpt. Abumaru Head close up Even though created for Jiban, I feel these figures fit in well with the original LJN Thundercats and are very, very rare to come by!

Hello all !
I am from Brazil and I can confirm that. In early 90's Glasslite reused the molds of a lot of 80's foreign series to create new characters...
I have all brazilian ThunderCats of Glasslite and I can say these japenses series figures were created from the molds of the original ThunderCats...
So, keep in mind:
1- Vultureman = Demon, the rhino-head (from Spielvan);
2- Monkian = Morfus, the lion-head (from Jiban);
3- Tygra = Rounin Haburamu (from Jiraya).
I have all three figures and they were reused molds of Glasslite ThunderCats (not LJN ones). Also, only Rounin Haburamu is a official character of japanese series. Morfus and Demon were created by Glasslite !!!!
Glasslite reused other figures like Glaxy Rangers to do the Jiban enemies like Dr. Jean Marie, Marshall, etc...
Another brazilian toy company called Gulliver also created an all new line based in a former series. They reused Secret Wars action figures and created the Future Warriors...

I have never seen this one. Japanese metal heroes series were very popular in Brazil, these unique toylines from Glasslite are very nice. I know Brazil was very poor in some areas during the 80s, were Glasslite toys mainly sold in cities and higher income areas? why are toys from there so rare now?

I really want to see a figure for the robot that's on the card backing. He's really cool! Did they make one for him? Seems like a main character if the's the one on the card. Assuming he's the main good guy and all these others are the villains.

It was adapted in the US into "Saban's Masked Rider"

Yeah I know. I believe toydejour was asking about the image Monteeg posted the link too- which is in fact Kamen Rider Black RX...... Unless of course toydejour is talking about the image in the very first post I made, then yeah that's Jiban- the info I posted explains it all....I don't know which image he's referring to exactly. I know who Jiban is, I'm the first westerner to discover these figures and I made this topic. mobile cop Jiban is the best of the Japanese metal hero series, I even own the Japanese dvd sets.

I found another Haburamu at a flea market yesterday....that's my second one !
Well, in the link I posted last month we can see Haburamu (Tigra's mold) in second image, under Kamen Rider Black RX collection...if you look carefully, you can see Mumm-Ra's sword on his hands... Unfortunately I don't know how to post the images of my TunderCats-like figures....
