Hello everyone, I have been looking for information forever on Soma ninja/karate figures. It is how i initially ound this forum. i dug around all morning, but dont see anything... I have only found one with intact clothing, but have seen pictures of a couple more. They appear to be the same figures released as wrestlers, but with a different overpainted shoe scheme. I would really, really appreciate any info, and a carded pic will earn you a hug. Whether you like it or not. Thanks!

The figure on the left in blue is a Soma ninja; they made 4 figures total I believe. They made one red, blue, black, and white ninja. I think they were all the same figure just different color gees.
As for the figure on the right that is from a line called "Fantasy World" which they made a Total of 8 figures. 1. Fantastar 2. Hellord 3. Hercon 4. IronMask 5. Trikin 6. Dragonman 7. Nizard 8. Piro
Also as for the Fantasy world figures they did make them as wrestling figures, but I think they only made 6 of them. These are the ones that are listed on the back of the card.
1. Black Hawk 2. Jacky Jade 3. Blue Berry 4. Tiger 5. Ironmask 6. Buffalo

Thanks, but I think I need to clarify... I know who Fantastar is, he is only on the pic as a comparison. I was too lazy to crop him. And for the most part, I have the barest of bones regarding soma ninjas/karate guys (I.e. the various color, figure part sources etc). What I do not know, and am trying to find out, is the name of the series (and if it was multiple series) and ultimately, to see the cardback. I have seen the various color figs many, many times over the years. I suspect they might be the most common Soma figures. However, I have very rarely seen them complete, or even close to it. The blue guy in the pic above is hands down the most complete Soma ninja-style guy I have encountered. I have also seen a picture of the black Soma martial arts figure wearing a mask. It is cloth and matches, but I have no idea if this is how he came, or if it is a kid-mod. I am wondering if they were sold with and without masks, like Lanard Dragon Ninja guys. It is an easy way to pad out a figure line with variety... But Soma has never impressed me as a company on fire in the quantity dept. So, in short, looking for name(s) of series, pics of packages. Someone on here has to have them! This board is blessed with collectors of the obscure.

Sorry mate for the misunderstanding. As for the ninja figures in questioned they did come with a mask that I do know. I have 3 of them; the black one, the red one, and the white one and they all have mask. Also I have seen the blue one with the mask so that should answer that question for you I hope. As for what the line was called I am very interested in finding this out too for I have not seen these figures carded either. I will have to check with a couple of people, but I may be able to dig something up on these guys and get back to you on that. I have some of the same questions you have on this line and think it is about time to solve this mystery. Thanks, but I think I need to clarify... Thank you, it has been driving me nuts for years, but recently I have become obsessed. And like I stated earlier, they had to be reasonably common at some point... I see them all the time in lots of Remco AWA figures. And they are clearly me ninjas and not the wrestlers because of the difference in the paint on the feet (wrestlers=painted laces, ninja=painted sandals). I just picked up a carded wrestler from a guy I was working a large Remco deal with, and frankly, finally seeing the card for those guys was pretty anticlimactic. Now all my hopes are riding on the soma ninjas.

Actually, I think I have figured out why the ninja Soma guys show up in Remco lots, not the wrestlers. It is not a matter of rarity, but rather a matter of time. The Soma wrestlers where released in 1992 to capitalize on Galoob and Hasbro's successful wrestling lines. At that point Remco's wrestlers, and the AWA itself, were long gone. It makes sense that the soma ninja guys are found in early to mid '80s mixed lots, as that was pretty much when Ninjamania ran wild brother. This doesn't help me identify the line in any way, and is in fact super obvious... But whatever. As stated earlier, Imam obsessed.
