Im not sure if they had a Lego thread somewhere but I wanted to mention that my wife and I went to Disneyland for my birthday and we stopped by the lego Store. They had these Sets brand new just arrived that morning. I will also continue to use this thread to post my old School legos! Lord Of The Rings Monster Fighter

I really hate all this licenced stuff Lego now do - goes against the founder of Lego's ideals...true they had Exxon and Shell Lego but that was quaint in a Lego world...old Town, Castle, Space, Pirates even used to be brilliant...and the current stuffs so over priced...I prefer the charm of the older stuff. Some of the new City items are okay but not as brilliant as the old stuff was. There was a charm in their simplicity in a sense.

While I don't blame people for buying the licensed stuff (they're only human ) I don't like it either. I always liked the simplicity of legos and stuff that is blatantly licensed just strikes me a little as selling out. Not to mention these days you get less legos, more packaging and less room for creativity. Seems like a lot of the newer lego sets have about as much interchangeability as your average action figure line. The sets pictured are cool in their own right but don't represent the educational or imaginative spirit of the old school of legos. If you are into Harry Potter and stuff though I would think these would be VERY attractive! You have to admit, Legos are cute ;D.

Lego very nearly went bankrupt because they built a product of such amazing quality that people never threw them away. That led to declining sales. The licensed stuff truly saved them.

The licensed stuff truly saved them. Interesting point, I'll admit that I have some legos from the 80s and they are, beyond some light scratching, in great shape.

I love most of the licensed stuff, just because its sometimes the only cool stuff to get. The castle and pirate themes dont last very long, and those were the coolest back in the day. Now legos have a shelf life of like a year then new stuff comes out and replaces it. Then the second hand prices skyrocket
