Yes I saw them today at TRU and you beat me to putting up the link! I did pick up the 2-pack of Bolg and Gandalf and gotta admit the sculpts are pretty good and feel just as good as 3 3/4 Hasbro figures. I look forward to getting some more of these figures and see if they are solid. I never heard of The Bridge Direct Inc. in figure making and if this is their first line of figures then I'm looking very forward to seeing what more they can do.

At first I thought I should start ordering these from the TRU website but then I realized that they are not exclusive to that store. I will wait for Walmart or Target to get them.

Bolg looks like a death metal singer. This whole line looks really good, I'll have to convince my brother to collect them so I can play with 'em heh heh. (My brother is into 3-3/4 stuff exclusively)

Saw a few of these at my local TrU today. The first wave of 4" singles at $10 each, a few 2-packs and a 5-pack with Bilbo and 4 dwarves for $40. Also a few from the 6" line as well.

They look really nice but the only 6" figure i've seen is Gandalf.

I had tried not to even pay attention to these and avoid starting up another line. I totally caved when they showed up at Wal-Mart. Surprisingly, I held off on 'em for a few days contemplating. I was ticked when I started shopping around and noticed other stores like K-Mart and TRU had two packs after I bought the singles...so watch out...I noticed the two packs have repeat characters. I hope figures like Gollum and Bolg get released singly as well, or I'm screwed! I already ended up getting two Thorins to get the big Goblin King. Gah! I can't believe we live in an age where you have to start researching toys before you buy 'em.
These guys can pass for Hasbro figures, honestly. Although I do like 'em, it frustrates me to see that Bridge Direct also uses the same awkward up-mounted hip articulation Hasbro had been utilizing on most of it's Marvel stuff for a while. Even so, I do hope they go back and make LOTR stuff in the 3 3/4 inch scale after the Hobbit line is more or less done.

The Bolg and Gandalf 2-pack has a slightly weathered/ battle dirt paint look on Gandalf's clothes. The single carded Gandalf is cleaner. The Goblin Grinnah is a single carded figure that is not available in any 2-packs ( at least not yet ). I could not find any differences between the remaining single carded and 2-pack ffigures so I plan on getting more 2-packs when there is a sale.

These are still only at TrU around here, nothing at Walmart. Maybe now that Target is opening up this year it will be easier to find newer figure lines as Walmart really seems to be cutting back.

Has anybody bought these figures? I know in the UK they don't seem to be selling well and retailers are marking them down already.

Don't see them moving to fast at TrU. They are great figures but i think savy buyers know to wait until they go at clearance.

I've been holding off on these and waiting for a sale that doesn't seem likely to happen, 9.99 is way over priced for these figures. I'll wait for clearance if I can't find them at better price or hope they show up at TJMaxx later in the year due to poor sales.

I picked up the Goblin King at TRU's buy-1-get-1-half-off sale, and got my brother Grinnah - Although I REALLY wanted him for myself. The detail is awesome, nice quality figures. Here's a terrible pic, or else it didn't happen.

That is the most random arrangement I've seen in a long while. The kitten photo adds a nice touch. So far , the local K-mart and Walmart only sell single carded figures . I hope TRU has another sale soon.

Only seen 'em at Myers - almost entirely two packs of Bolg & Gandalf, one Thorin, one Bilbo, and a two pack Dwalin & Balin. Really into these, but at 12.95 for a single?! I'll definitely be holding out for some time methinks. That Goblin King definitely has a place in my want list.
What's the deal with Bolg anyway? Being released in this wave, shouldn't we have Azog the Defiler, is there a 3 3/4" version of him out at present?

I agree, way too expensive for the basic figures at £12.99. No idea why they've released Legolas and Tauriel instead of a nice Azog and Warg pack either.

I finally made the trip to the nearest Kmart and only found one set left in their clearance shelf that I wanted. I got the Bilbo and Gollum set for $4.00 . I called 2 other stores and no employees are aware of the 50 percent off the sticker price. So if it is marked $8.00 , it will ring up at 4. Single figures are $2. I would have bought Gandalf for $2 but there were none left. I think the Fimbul and Warg set would be close to $5.00 but they were out of those too.

Four months later, and I still haven't seen this line show up anywhere. Not @ Walmart, Target, Meijer or even TRU. The two K-Marts I used to hit both closed within the last year, so I didn't even bother looking there, but I still have one near[ish]by, so I'll check it out. Thanks for the heads up!

Sorry for the spelling errors (blame Tolkien).

I called kmart and the sale ended Sat. night. I don't know why they wouldn't keep the price low to clear out the remaining inventory. Those Legolas figures had a better chance of selling at $2 a piece. Now they will be stuck with over 20 of him at $4.00 each.
I think I am going to regret not building an army of $2.00 Grinnah figures. I really like that one a lot.
I was suprised to not see the single carded Thorin at all during this sale. Considering he is also in the TRU Goblin king set, I thought he would be a peg warmer.

So anybody going into (or picked up) the Desolation of Smaug line yet? While Bridge Direct's character release choices are a little... haphazard, at least you can complete the Dwarf Company now. (Thranduil is kind of appealing too) But am I to believe no 3 3/4" Azog? That's creezy talk! My only beef with the toys is that their accessories have the consistency of Gruyere cheese, but at the end o' th' day its just nice to have some fresh 3 3/4" fantasy figures.

I still haven't seen a single Hobbit figure in stores. I'm guessing Target, Meijer and Wal-Mart just decided not to carry the line. I have 50 or so of ToyBiz's LOTR figures, but I really hadn't planned on collecting this line. Maybe if I'd caught them on clearance cheap I would've picked up a select few. I'm just shocked they didn't seem to get much retail support. The LOTR line was a huge hit.

For sure, I reckon those LOTR figures ('01-'03) just had a lot more love put into them, even people that generally don't collect figures seemed to really enjoy them. Guess they were closer to the source? Newline or Weta Workshop having a more hands-on approach with their production I mean. The Hobbit figures don't have the same 'instant classic' feel. Took quite a hunt before I found them in retail, once they did hit pegs in decent amounts they were overloaded, heading to the cheap bin. And it was right between the two films after hype had died down. I'm no business guru, but I'm not sure The Bridge Direct handled the ball perfectly on this one.

Hang on a jiff, just thinking out loud - if the 6" Azog is literally six inches then he'll be roughly in keeping with the smaller scale figures, yes? Or is he designed to tower above the other large scale characters in this line also?
Gah, Tolkien, your all confusing me with your variable height-based fables!
... it's like Elkhorn trying to headbutt Northlord all over again ...

Guess they were closer to the source? Newline or Weta Workshop having a more hands-on approach with their production I mean. It is an exceptional line. The likenesses are outstanding. I don't think I've enjoyed collecting a line at retail more than that one. Yeah, when it was announced Bridge Direct was getting the Hobbit licsence my reaction was "Who?". I know ToyBiz went belly-up in the years between trilogies, so any hope for continuity between the two lines was out the window. That's partially why I didn't have much interest it. I'd be curious to know if the people who collected the LOTR figures have been hunting down the Hobbit line. Unfortunately the old Green Dragon collecting forum I used to frequent back in the day folded several years ago. I still can't believe it didn't get more support at retail. Bridge Direct may be a small time company compared to some, but The Hobbit is an A-list property. You'd think it would've been an easy sell.

The figures from the 2nd movie haven't surfaced at TrU here yet, still have figures from the 1st movie on the shelves. Actually Azog was made in the smaller line, i think is just in the UK only.
