Missed out on getting Castle Grayskullman figure this month but I'm hopeful of finding it on Ebay for a comfortable price.

I got hosed at the Ram-man launch. Had it in my cart at 12:01, went to checkout and it was out of stock while my order was completing. I've been a life long RM fan and this is the only figure I've wanted since the line began. I had to resort to eBay and ended up paying $58 dlvd which isn't too bad since it would have cost me $47 dlvd from Mattel.

I'm sorry to hear that, so I take it that the figures sold out in less than 5 minutes then? I'm surprised considering how they pushed these from January to February and still sold out so quick. Did you get a Jitsu since you lost out on Ram Man? If I hadn't had gotten them on Mattycollector.com I would have probably of done the same thing you did.

I didn't get Jitsu because the only figure I've wanted since the line started was Ram Man. He's been my favorite character since I was a kid.

Glad to know getting these are still a major league pain in the butt. I missed out too! Never woulda thought Ram Man woulda been that popular, especially since he's the most expensive one yet.

Mattel sure knows how to kill a line, I've never seen such poor treatment of a fanbase. They seriously need to hire some new psychologists in their marketing dept. These kinds of tricks don't make people want to collect the series, it makes them quit and move on to something more attainable.

Well honestly they really don't have many more popular figures to make and they are just milking the hardcore fanbase for all they can and YES it is poor treatment. The selling out of Ram Man in less than 5 minutes is totally unaccetable especially when they pushed his release another month, you would think that they have produced more than enough for that cash cow of a figure. I won't buy a subscription when you fail to show what you are getting for a half a year. I love the line but at almost 40 bucks a figure I hope they don't get enough subs for next year and just end it.

If they come out with another batch of ram-mans, will anyone remember or care that they sold out so quickly the first time? They're just experimenting on the public with a different form of marketing. I think that the psychological department is working perfectly because they are successfully f***ing with everyone's heads, making them think that these toys are more special than they are. Buyers won't know down from up and that's perfect for the seller. Don't get me wrong, I think the line is cool but all this "exclusiveness" is imho flat out predatory.

That's why I don't collect them I hate the "internet exclusive" nature of them.

Be sure to check your local Big Lots stores cause I found the Molar and Skeletor SDCC two pack there for only 10 bucks each. I also found some Mattel Ghostbusters 2 figures for those of you that collect them at 10 bucks each as well.

I have some of these: MerMan, Moss Man, Buzz Off, Skeletor (regular), Stratos. I really like the design improvements, and the packaging makes for easy display (I put a lot of my toys up for display). I have found it very hard to acquire these anywhere in person (I found some at a local ToyCon recently). The toy stores in my area don't have any around at all. I will be stopping by my local Big Lots today at lunch to take a look. Thanks for the notice!!!!

Boss they only sell these at Mattycollector.com but I usually go the Ebay route for those with subscriptions that want to get rid of figures they don't want. I too have these figures on a display case they are without a doubt one of the best lines going. I hope you find the 2 pack and build on your collection cause 5 bucks a figure is a GREAT deal!

So I guess I was too late! When I got to the Big Lots there wasn't anything up there. I asked a manager, and was told "Yea, we had some Master of the Universe stuff, but two guys came in here yesterday and grabbed everything we had". Dang it! I missed it by a day! LOL! Any idea how often these might get restocked?

I was wondering why one vendor at a recent toy show was trying to sell the Molar set for $40 and the Orko set for $30.00 . Those were the only ones they had and there are quite a few Big Lots in that area. I will try to stop by a Big Lots soon. I was surprised when I noticed Prince Adam taking a nap in Orko's package.

I'm seeing a lot of those on Ebay lately.

I was surprised to see these at Big Lots. Shocked might be a better word. I hadn't gotten into these due to affordability and not having internet. I bought a Moss Man, Catra, and the Mo-Larr/Skeletor two pack at a Big Lots yesterday. They had a few other characters such as Count Marzo and Icarus but if I can ever sort of collect these I will mainly stick to the characters I remember from the cartoon. I also didn't want to invest too much into this in case I can't afford any other characters from this line off the secondary market.

Wow I wish I had found like you had found cause I would have cleaned house! I only found the Molar 2-pack and Icarus figures on my runs. I broke down and became a subscriber for next year considering they are trying to finish the line in 2 years(or at least so they say). Does anybody know how often they restock at Big Lots?

Actually, I was really torn between getting the pieces I did and just leaving them all there. The collector in me could see one or two people coming in and scooping them all up. I suppose I wouldn't blame them. I'm sort of not comfortable right now getting into another line of collectibles but knowing what I do about these figures it was difficult to pass them all up. If I had confidence that I could eventually afford a complete Classics collection, I probably would have bought one of each. No idea about Big Lots's stocking regimen, the nearest ones are a 2 hour round trip drive for me so I don't get to one all that often.

Most of the ones across the country were cleaned out by scalpers and a few collectors. Word is they have pretty much burned through the stock they are getting by this point. I too collect the line.

I aspire to collect it. I have noticed the price for a He-Man has come back down closer to earth which is nice but I have also noticed some hefty price tags on characters like Fisto. Since this is pretty much a classic example of an almost 100% collector-oriented line some of the figures could be tough to come by. The figures are probably all I will be able to collect, no accessories like the cats or anything like that.

To bad their are no Big Lots around here. Our version in Canada Is Liquidation World which is owned by Big Lots. No MOTU Classics yet, but maybe sometime before Christmas.

I will probably wind up selling the pieces I bought because even under the best of circumstances, I couldn't consistently afford to pay $125-150 per figure as I have seen some of these go for online. With toys being in some major trouble when it comes to sales, it baffles me how Mattel feels the way they handle the selling of this line is doing themselves any favors. This isn't a very encouraging line to collect unless your pockets are very deep and you can have access to a computer whenever a figure goes up for grabs on the Mattel website. It took me 15-20 minutes of seeing what figures like Beast Man and Fisto go for for my enthusiasm for collecting this line go down to about zero. I should have just let the pieces stay on the shelf but at the time I didn't quite realize how crazy some of the prices really would be online.

I can get where you're coming from, I love MotU but I refuse to go into this. I have fond memories of the original toyline and most of the figures I have are the originals I had as a kid, but Mattel was never able to hook me with this collector-oriented hook. I love toys, really, but I want them to be just that - TOYS. I like what they're doing with these characters and it's pretty awesome to see the characters re-imagined and all, but I feel no incentive to collect them at all.
Make them 3 3/4 inch and we'll talk about it =))

I may or may not have been able to get these if they were sold in stores. A few of the characters are sold in 2 packs with DC characters for $40.00 a set. I love toys as well but these companies can see what's going on at retail and they still do things like with this line? At least the Batman TV Series figures are at retail.
