ive always avoided the adult vinyl toy market partially because they can get really expensive and alot of limited edition stuff, and partially because i only collect 3 3/4" figures.
well i bought my first vinyl figure and probably the only one i will ever get, i got it because it had a particular appeal to me. but when it arrived one of the legs was fairly bent to the side so it doesnt stand quite as nice as it should. normally when this happens with my little action figures i put it in boiling water for a few seconds and they automatically straighten out. but i dont have any experience with vinyl figures and dont know how vinyl would react to that. i worry it will get all warped and messed up worse like a record left in a cra can do.
anyway i was just wondering if anyone knows a good way to straighten out a vinyl figures limb.

Limited Editions sure are a pain in the neck: they make you feel stressed when thinking of getting it.

Yeah, if it's an expensive figure, I don know that I'd mess with it. Maybe buy a cheapo vinyl figure or one in bad shape already and see how boiling water would react? The only ones I ever collected were Mighty Muggs, I think they're vinyl but could be wrong. I

Yeah, what Else said. If you can find something that you can be almost certain is made of the same material, but cheap and expendable. There's so many different kinds of vinyls, plastics, PVCs, etc. I know that in the sign writing and tee printing industries they frequently use heat to easily manipulate their vinyl material, but that's a total different density. Maybe you could ask here: radiantdreamer.net/anime-pride/differences-in-plastics-abs-pvc-vinyl-resin-polystone-oh-my/

i contacted the guy i bought it from and he said the boil in water was what they use on vinyl figures. so i did it very quickly and it didnt warp any but still wasnt bending so i left it in for about a 20 count and it got good and flexiblei put something between the legs to let it cool back down and settle, i havent checked it yet to see if it stays but it didnt warp thats what matters.

Hair dryers are usually the best way to go with vinyl figures (I have a ton) if you only need to heat a certain part, like a leg to get it to stand. I have actually put vinyl figures in a very low temperature oven for a few minutes when I wanted the whole thing to get soft and malleable.
