Gotta share a recent find and rebuild my posts on here. Any info on this is appreciated, did it come with armor parts? was there a silver version?

I'd say someone has just taken there battle cat and had it chrome plated. I've noticed alot of auctions on ebay where people have g1 optimus primes etc for sale where they have done exactly the same thing.

Yes thats what it looks like to me someone just had it plated...is there any difference between this cat and panthor or battle cat...or even from the big jim tiger that was originally used for the mold? i dont think i have seen any of them with that hole in the gut before? but that might be from a holding bar that went into the cat while they dipped it into the plating material??

Oh, oops didn't give more info. It's blow molded hollow and it's definitely:
-not a chrome plated cringer. The deep part inside of the mouth was too deep for the plating powder to reach and you can see the unplated color is a cream white. -the seller had it listed under a generic title with a foot soldier riding it, chrome plating is expensive and if it was done to deceive it would have been listed better. I won it for around 20 shipped.

What did the original stamps say? This one has two Asian characters stamped on the back left leg Edit in, here is a link on the vacuum plating process. The results are unique and much different than just blasting something with gold krylon: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vacuum_metallizing

Here's an explanation: It's not a plated Cringer but a knock-off Cringer that has been customized by someone by plating it and the Chinese markings are the trademark of the customizer? Maybe you could get someone to translate the markings? The only reason I suggest this is because the resemblance to Cringer is uncannily so.

ive seen a carded silver one similar to this figure once years ago. I cant remember the line name, but it was a legit ko figure... if i remember right it was foreign. my guess is that this is from the same iine. so Im guessing its not a custom, but rather a KO or bootleg.

Man that thing is bizzarely awesome. I have a MISB Mexican bootleg Battle Cat/He Man set, where the cat is white with black stripes....but I had never seen or heard of vac plated ones.

Let's see if this works....the bootleg Battle Cat is in the left back corner on the bottom shelf (behind the regular US one). This is an old pic - I'll try to get a better one but my toy room is under renovation right now so it's tough to get to stuff.

Just for comparison sake, here is my Bootleg (Mexico) He-Man and Battle Cat. These pieces are no longer in my collection but I can say that the detail of them was terrible. Both are blow molded and are not even close to being as clean or detailed as the originals. If your plated cat is blow molded, then they did a great job. The fact that he has teeth is amazing!!

Guarantee this is most likely a Taiwanese or Korean knock off due to the Asian characters. I have a gold chrome plated Lion-o which came from South Korea in a nice box and has Korean characters stamped on it's back.
