Anyone remember MAC (Mobile Action Commmand) by Matchbox? I think they were mid to late 70's. I had a few of these and some Action Jack knock off figures. Best of all was the Rescue Center playset. This has got to be one of my favorite chrismas presents ever The playset also scaled well with 3 3/4" figures so this got plenty of use closed up open and from inside

I have seen those figures around over the years but never really new where they came from (always though Fisher Price). Interesting playset, are the floors made of cardboard? The whole thing looks pretty fragile.

I would say it's pretty robust, the construction is hard plastic and quite thick. I must have got it when I was about 7 so it survived a long time in the firing line without much damage (although I'd recommend not using the hinged top as a carrying handle : The floors are cardboard, but the distortion has occured while it's been in storage and not through play. I see what you mean about fisher price, I think the first Star Wars figures really moved the bar for lines like this when it came to figure detailing

Wow I had this as a kid and I loved it. But I could not remember what it was called.
Thanks for posting that great pic!

That doesn't look like to bad an example. If anyone was interested it looks to be missing the arm of the crane and it would be worth checking it has the upper floor. It should also have a one man lift (not shown in my photo) that runs between the 3 floors.
