I've had this toy for a very long time. It was hanging from my uncle's Camaro Z-28 rear view mirror and I loved it so he let me have it. He put the screw thing through the top so that he could hang it. It's pretty highly detailed and I used to love using it as a puppet. It says "made in japan" under the jaw. Anyone know what this is? www.flickr.com/photos/75221031@N06/sets/72157629057581901/

If it's marked "Made in Japan", there is a big chance this toy was made before the 1980's. Why? Because my mother told me of how many "Made in Japan" toys she had when she was a child; and she was born in 1947. It's during the 1970's, she said, that "Made in Japan" stuff was getting rarer and rarer... and more and more expensive; Japan was getting richer a s a country and its industries were getting into more "serious" buisinesses like electronics and cars. So, a rubber piece marked "made in Japan" has to be a very old one.

Cool! Thanks for the info Bowheadedwhale. I don't know how long it was hanging in that camaro or where he got it in the first place but yea it does seem better quality than my vinyl stuff I had during the 80s like sharks and lizards and such, at least the paint job seems better.
