Which GI Joe figures did you think where awesome when you were younger that you now think are crap?..............
I used to like Captain Grid Iron, Blaster and the Mega Monsters but years later I thought they where just crap. Captain Grid Iron had those ridiculous football grenades, Blaster had sleeves in flesh color and two pieces of his helmet painted black so they looked like bits of hair hanging out!! And the Mega Monsters where just completely rubbish toys.

Shockwave (his head is way too big for his body) Road Pig (his haircut stinks) Sergeant Slaughter (totally lame but he was crammed down our throats)

My era was '82-'87 ('87 being the year I turned 13). I consider that sort of the Golden Age of "ARAH", and as such there weren't many stinkers, but Dr. Mindbender (Who I never loved or thought was particularly cool but none the less owned) is pretty lame when you look at him today.

I could never Stand Sgt Slaughter (Sgt Slammer over here in the UK) even when I was a kid, my mate had the Warthog and I used to always insist on him getting killed off near the begining of are games when we played!

I enjoy the different opinions but I have to say I love Dr. Mindbender. That cloth cape with the printed Cobra logo kicks but. I know it sucks that he has no ears but I got over that.
I have always been kind of irked about Zandar's big head and pink scarf.

I thought Zandar was the shiznit. I loved that his whole body changed, not just a little sticker. Same goes for Zarana. I also liked these two because they really embodied the 80's style of clothing that I was so fond of back then: Bandanas, fluorescent clothes, torn jeans, heck yeah!

I thought Heavy Duty was awesome, but now I can't stand that neon cap.
I also thought Raptor was cool, but not so much anymore.
I have always loved Chuckles.

I used to HATE Chuckles but now he's one of my favorite second-tier character figures. Funny how our opinions change over the years.

I loved the Snake Eyes Version 3 that I used to have. I now have a 25th version of that figure. I loved also Battle Corps Shipwreck, Robo joe, and the original Rock Viper and Night Creeper Leader.

As a kid I always thought the figures with more accessories were the best, but now I see a lot of them as just being ridiculous. Captain Gridiron is a great example.

There seems to be two different generations with Joes and kids who played with Joes. One when Joes were kind of re-launched with the new cartoon and Captain Grid Iron and his group in 1990 and the older generation with Hawk and his Joes in 1982. Most of you guys seem to be from the younger generation??
I agree with the idea that accessories make them cool:
Bats V1 Snow Serpent V1 Eels V1 Tunnel Rat
but then again these guys were ok figures but the accessories made them silly:
Salvo Downtown Backblast Rock & Roll V2
Off the top of my head mine would be:
Eels V1 Bats V1 Recondo Roadblock V1 Stalker V1 I could go on and on...lol...

I guess I'm the only one who still likes Captain Grid-Iron! I was big on sports as a kid I always like the sports themed figures like Bazooka, The Fridge, Hardball, Cutter, Red Dog & Sgt. Slaughter. All they needed was a hockey themed one with a goalie mask or something.
As a kid, I always thought the cobras looked really cool, but as an adult, a lot of them are rather effeminate with all that purple. They don't even have a cool dark purple, but a bright ass purple nearing hot pink.
I love the Dreadnoks, but I never really like Thrasher and his green striped Bouffant! Zanzibar was ruined with that pony tail.
As for the Joes, the original group from 1982. They are really boring looking and look too similar to one another.
