Now, I know you read that topic title and said "Rugby? The sport? Hey, this belongs with the sports themed threads!", right? Well...no...weird, I know, but feast your eyes on this four inch fiend: How do ya like dem apples?!?! So, what is this guy? From what just about anyone can glean, it's some kinda Masters of the Universe style knock off (or bootleg). Made by some company called FAR MEN. I'm not sure of the year it was made...no markings on the figure itself or dates...even on the strange package. Clearly, the backer seems football related, so it does not really make sense. You might think that since the bubble is stapled on, that it's some weirdo's handiwork...but no...I've seen other versions of these little MotU knock offs before, and have also seen many a crappy European action figure using the ol' staple method on their blister bubbles. My guess, is that this company may have just been so "ghetto" that they utilized unused cardbacks from old sport-themed figures. Maybe? Any input? Unless, some rugby players do indeed look like this...hey, I've never been to Europe and ain't much of a sports nut...whatevs! Spain must be a crazy place to live. Here is our boy out of the package...he's made of a very light, cheap, solid plastic. His articulated head and arms are made of rubber with simple paint applications. The boots pop off! Armor can also be removed...no he's not naked...he has the classic He-Man undies sculpted on, just not painted in. His weapon is simple plastic. Yeah, he don't hold it too well. I'm not sure if it's just a bent sword, or meant to be a little whip. I'd like to find out how many styles exist...Heck, I just wanna know more about these in general. Help! I've seen others, but this is my first. They may be miniaturized versions of other, larger MotU knock offs called Guerreros del Espacio (Warriors from Space)...I think...so many odd KOs out there...hard to keep track! Here is our unnamed cycloptic warrior (cardback is blank...no info!) next to some of our favorite mini MotU knock off pals! See how he stacks up with the best of 'em. So, if you got 'em...whip 'em out...I wanna see EVERYTHING! Until then, keep your boots on and your temple treasures lost...I'm outta here.

i do not have any of these, but I do have a wrestler from Argentina, a Playwell El Gigante, that is stapled on the card and from speaking with some other wrestling collectors, they indicate that some of the bubbles on items from there are stapled on rather than glued.
I hope you did not just open a MOC item.

The counts a crazy man figurecollector, I bet he did open MOC. Good thing about it though is you can just bend the staples out and remove the bubble with no damage. Then when your done playing with him, put him back in and press the staples through the holes and bend them down again....presto, MOC once again.

i almost got this guy myself! i wish he was bigger. the head appears to be a very poor bootleg of Ridal (the cyclops) from Tomland's various 3 3/4" lines. Tomland+MOTU= incredible.

Yeah, for those of you not familiar with those weird mini Galaxy Warriors...some indeed have the "dreaded" swastika on their armor...bah, dirty Nazis are such poseurs...because of them, most people assume the swastika is some big bad evil insignia...not true...there are many types used in many cultures...basically a "good luck" symbol. Go figure. Figured I'd mention that so no one gets creeped, or something, in the future. (Laugh Out Loud)
Oh, and yes...yesssss...I did totally open him up! Completely deflowered!!! Yeah, I know some collectors cringe about that, but sometimes ya gotta do whatcha gotta do. Odds of me finding one loose an complete are probably slim. Besides, he told me to release him from his secret ancient prison......and for the record, I did not get the candy he promised me beforehand.

Odds of me finding one loose an complete are probably slim. you may find one with the armor and limp sword, but for sure those boots would be a goner.

I had gotten hold of a few more of these over the course of time...dang...I thought I'd shown off more of these since this thread was started? B'ah! I can't keep track. Anyway, out of the four of these Rugby guys I have, I was able to snag one under what I assume was the correct banner of "Guerreros del Espacio"...further proving in my mind that the whole Rugby cardback was just either a running ,mistake or just some lazy cost-cutting measure for packaging these cruddy, yet awesome figures. Here's a weirdo with and odd, helmeted dino-platypus head. The armor is removeable and the gun pretty much does NOT fit in his hand. He kind of has to cradle it. Eh. Probably my favorite character design so far. Man, my camera skills are getting worse instead of better! Here's a group shot of the four I currently own. One is and obvious He-Man knock off, the other is the green dude form earlier posts, and the other is a strange horse-headed guy. I've seen another one of these mini MOTU KOs that look almost like Alf in an ancient ID thread once, but could not re-find it. Rats! There was recently a cool pterodactyl-headed figure in a mixed lot of figures on eBay...but I lost out. Double dammit! If anybody won that lot and doesn't need that guy, lemme know. I still wanna see how many more of these exist. I kinda wonder if the same or similar molds were used for both the smaller versions like these or the larger Guerreros del Espacio figures also made by Far Men.

I've seen some of the Guerreros del Espacio, but never the cool Cyclops guy. Not nearly enough cyclops figures about.

More of these guys! Under the (correct) banner of "Guerrreros del Espacio". Behold! ...oh, and I did NOT pay as much as you might think, if you keep track o' that sorta thing... I was absolutely FLOORED when I saw proof that the weird horned guy from the title banner was, in fact, real and not just for the artwork. The lager Guerreros del Espacio guys have their own version of Skeletor, but he looks very "traditional" or colorful as Hell. I had temporarily put all my other Far Men characters away, and was too lazy to whip 'em out for a six-figure shot of all the known characters in the 4-inch line. I was looking for the Alf lookalike for a while, but at least I knew he existed. So glad to get viking Skeletor! Viking Skellie comes with a scythe and Alf wannabe comes with this sweet devil pitchfork. It hit me...the company that made these is called "Far Men"...say it fast. "Farmin'?" Check out those...*ahem*...weapons! WHOAAAAA-OHHH!!! Where I come from, it's cornbread and chicken! Where I come from, alotta front porch sittin'!

Who agrees that finding figures like these are just as exciting(if not more so)than mainstream, "normal" figures?

Whats funny is that if something like this showed up in a dollar store these days they probably would sell pretty well.

Here's the more rare Rugby variant of Skull Viking Dude. Seems the only difference is an unpainted chest plate.
