Yeah, a lot of those images on the backs of the packs are such a tease, aren't they? Even the palace playset seems to show sculptural difference from the actual piece as well as color variation (the dome is multicolored like stained glass). Most of those images are probably early stage or prototypes...happens a lot with many toy lines. They end up going with more cost effective paint schemes and such. Off the top of my head...scope out the cardbacks for Defenders of the Planets...I know they have many actual variations, but the sculpts and color schemes utilized for advertisement are not even known to exist. Thanks it's what I figured out, yes haha now when I look close this line would have been even more awesome if they had stuck to the plan. The paint schemes are really cool on the cardback. Vulturas polearm as example, red and silver and the one I got, little glossy gray plastic. I guess it was pretty common, I think I have seen these quiet a few times as a kid that they where different on the package. I was just hoping that red helm existed since there usually are a few variations in any line. Got to check some defender of the planets cardbacks :P

I just got my third dragon queen and noticed that two of them didn't have the earrings. So I figured it was just paint wear, but then I noticed the eyes and the mouth. What do you think? This is my first one This is one of the other two

Sorry bro. If its any consolation I was beat to a Lords of Light listing the other day even though I found it within the first 8 minutes! This the first loose figure I've seen for sale in months. I went to bin and it said there was a problem, went back to listing and it was sold. Is this what happens when two people try to buy something at once?

Are these things so expensive now? :-/ Wow It did look brand new I've seen ones go for 50 euros years ago Don't hang yourself just keep looking and I'm sure you'll get one eventually. :) It took me 4 years to find a figure i wanted after missing out on the only one i had seen before it. But i got it. 8-)

And in very good condition too.

really concerned you said this. I know you probably meant it as a joke but it's just "stuff". If it is sending you into bouts of depression and anxiety maybe you should back away from them a little and not have to collect everything. I know I get depressed about little things too but remember it is just a little thing. Just concerned.

Until just this moment I had no idea the Palace of Gems was actually released. I need to find one asap. I am new here and since my motu and pop collections are close to complete I figured it was time to branch out. The first line I heard of that was similar to either pop or motu was Golden Girls. When some one first asked me if I had any at a local toy show I seriously thought they were looking for Bea Arthhur, Betty White, and Rue McLannahan (sp?) dolls as in The Golden Girls TV Show. That night I googled Golden Girls toys and was blown away with what I saw. It was the greatest female line I had ever seen. As a married adult male I had a hard time convincing my wife and kids that daddy was going to add new 'friends' to his pop collection but once I showed my 8 year old daugher who is into the rock star look she was hooked to. No joke that next weekI went to the local swap meet and found my first, and sadly so far, only Golden Girl, Saphire. I really like this line and wish it were more readily available. I would love to get my hands on Wild One next as that si the one my daughter likes. So for you who know the line better than me and have a lot more do you collect loose, moc, and do you get into all the different outfits? I was able to avoid getting into the different outfits of POP but if the different outfits make the figures even cooler then let me know.

Yes POP = Princess of Power. It took me awhile to figure that out as well from ebay and other forums. I was stuck on what motu stood for for a long time as growing up I referred to it all as He-man not Masters of the Universe.

Because YOU demanded it! A shot with some figure interaction! Sorry, don't have all the official characters so I cut in some knock offs...... THAT GREEN_AND BLUE DRAGON IS AWESOME!!!! Yet I guess it's not from the Golden Girls line, right?

Okay, folks here's one to get the ole noggin' joggin'. Clickin' around figure sites, I stumbled across some archived pics of GG characters. I don't pursue Golden Girl but saw a snapshot of Prince Kroma loose and suddenly had a memory blast like nothing else! Hadn't noticed before because of his cape but... I had a KO back in 1986/87 that I distinctly remember because my brother broke it the same day I opened it (thanks, Malcolm). Exact body sculpt as Kroma, same silver but no accessories, no cape and a completely different head sculpt (black hair - not rooted). Came carded not boxed, and definitely wasn't called Golden Girls. I'm not expecting carded pics to come flooding in but if anybody else even remembers this line (or character) that would be a start...

I'm also interested in the figure you speak of. So far I've only found girl characters that are knock offs of Golden Girl Goddess of Wonder(Golden Girl and She-Ra), Goddess of the ultra Cosmos and Galaxie Girl(Want to find these). I don't think I've seen a male character in any of those lines. Would be very cool if golden girl had a fourth knock off line.

Thanks, Rawlin Someone on this boards gotta' know something. Other notes on this figure; * had Remco/TMNT style ball joint pegs at the hip/leg (does GG use bands or pegs?) * had a bubble in the plastic of his nose which eventually split over time leaving a crater (now there's quality!) * face bore zero resemblance to Kroma, more of a 'John Blackstar Lite' generic look. I haven't seen another since. Lay at the back o' the closet til I threw him out early nineties I believe. Ha, as a kid I totally thought he sucked. Now I'd flip if I saw one (in any condition). Funny how that works.

Anyway this is how their hip joints looks... it made a horribly load snapp when put back on.

Are Golden Girls worth as much as Princess Of Power figures, today? depends on rarity, I guess the cheaper ones are as much as the cheaper POP figures, as far as moc goes, I've seen GG misbs go upwards 80usd, I'm sure there are POP figures that would go higher then that. I've seen the castle sell for 150usd 2 times, I missed it both. But what I really want is a misb or mib olympia with chariot! soon 4 years of searching now, missed the only 2 I've seen Fun fact, Golden Girl was more expensive then she-ra when they where in stores Prince Kroma is probably my fav in the series lol even the name is funny.

I'm missing very little in the golden girl line. Since then I have missed out on a good bunch. But before that comment I had actually missed out on 2 palace of the gems already. So when that turned up and I missed it I got pissed at myself and went a bit emo haha. It usually sell just a few each year so to get one you got to keep the eyes open. I haven't gotten it yet neither Olympia with chariot.

Yes! Excellent. I'm pretty amped to be able to follow up on my own post here from 2013. A few months back I was helping to clean out some stuff from my Mum's place.(she's a worse hoarder than I am) Actually I'm pretty grateful for her hoarding nature right now. I picked up this at the time; Okay, curb your enthusiasm right? It's exactly the same as Golden Girl's Prince Kroma leg, I know. Except I never had any GG figures as a kid. This actually belonged to some obscure space-themed KO guy I mentioned earlier in this thread. My brief wave of excitement turned to bitterness however, as I didn't find anything else relating to the figure in the room I was clearing out and gave up on him, assuming he'd been thrown out decades ago. I kept the leg anyway (to torture myself with?? dunno) Until; Ta da! Last weekend I took a bursting car load of stuff back to my place for my parents because, unbelievably, they're moving. Between childhood junk, plushes, board games, boxes of stuff I hadn't seen in over 25 years, there he is. And he's hideous, even more than I remembered. Ack! Check that goofball smile. Eyes also have the paint app slapped right over the eye-sculpt edges. In my original post I mentioned a bubble in his nose plastic which split open pretty quickly, leaving him to look like he's suffering drug related nasal corrosion (guess it was the 80s) Okay, so I'm excited about a severely damaged, dirty GG knock-off which I hated as a kid here, but it's something I haven't seen since about a quarter of a century, plus it gives a solid starting point to any possibility of solving a mystery instead of working from my rambling memories. "Aw, c'mon Vultura, I can be badass too!" Who knows, with luck his other leg is in a box I haven't ravaged yet, and with a drop of silicon sanded and painted for his coke-nose, he may turn out pretty as a pearl. I wanna say his original card art depicted him with a helmet and laser pistol, neither of which he came with. And I'm guessing for a name along the lines of "Cosmic Hero Goof" or "Space Laser Dork". Any clues??

A further discovery/update to this bootleg GG guy. Turns out the head sculpt is borrowed 100% from AWA Remco wrestler, Greg Gagne. (apparently he has two types of head mold) Funny, cos I never did see Golden Girl or Remco wrestlers in stores as a kid in New Zealand, just seems we were getting crappily made bootlegs consisting of amalgamated parts from both instead, hmph.
Still doesn't bring me much closer to knowing anything about the original card/title though. Guess it's just nice t'know that if you see a Galoob GG bod with an AWA head anywhere out there it may be an 80s bootleg rather than some child's custom swap.

Hey everyone, not sure if anyone can shed any light on this, but I'm trying to research the Golden Girl line and I'm having trouble finding much information. Specifically, one thing I'm trying to find out about are production defects or variations that occur. As I've been collecting the line, I've run into quite a few, and I'm wondering how common this is when people have been collecting "in the wild."
Most of the defects that I've been seeing are dolls (still sealed in box) which have been packed with the wrong shield. Less often, I've seen sealed dolls, specifically Wild One, who are wearing the wrong cape (she has the red/black cape that Dragon Queen has instead of the ivory ragged cape that she normally wears). But today I got a photo from a Seller on ebay that I was buying a couple of the figures from that was very strange!
The box says Rubee, the shield says Rubee, and it's still sealed, so I'm guessing the accessories are also Rubee? But the doll inside is Onyx. This is the first time I've run into a sealed box where the doll is wrong - and the seller said that he had two of them! If anyone has any info about production/packing mistakes for this line that they've seen, I would love to hear them! Thanks!
