1995 LGTI stamped under wings. I found these guys today and cant really find any info on them by searching 1995 LGTI. i know this is probably an easy one for most here, but i honestly have never seen these before. They are awesome tho, they really go flying when put on their dragon base. Any info on these? are they rare? not rare but uncommon? Or very common. Cool toys nonetheless. thanks!

hmmmm....dragon flyers...i think thats what these guys were called? their packaging was pretty cool if i remember right. they always were one of those toys that played a tick on me in the toy isle:
"hahahahha made you look"
they look cool at first but quickly turned lame...not much articulation and you could make them fly...kinda...the wings get in the way of everything. these guys are a perfect misfit for Robot Chicken to Pick on...they come flying to rescue the chick and end up cutting everyone to pieces... ;D ;D ;D

Yea kinda seem cool at first but beyond making them fly what would you do with them? Maybe you could tie firecrackers to them before you launch them? I think there is a thread about these on here somewhere...

They are called Dragon Flyz. Guy on the right is called 'Pale Blue Flyer'. Kinda' unique idea, like a mix between an action figure and a sports/model toy, but I know that if I'd ever had any as a kid I would've removed those wings eventually. Yeah, they released these in '96, re-released them in '06. They had girly equivalents called 'Sky Dancers'.

I have about 5 of these guys, all with dragons. Really cool toys! Anyone know if any weapons came with them? I have never seen pics with weapons. I guess if you have rotating blades on neck you don't need weapons!

as reasonable as the "loose with no accessories" sounds, turns out, after looking through some moc pics, some of them did come with weapons. looks like 1-color flat plastic gun-type things that clip to the wrists.

I don't really get how these guys were available. I usually go by this: www.figurerealm.com/checklist.php?action=checklist&seriesid=953&figures=dragonflyz1. They were available with launchers and also just the figure by itself? How do you sell a launching gimmick fig with no launcher? 2. The "Fist Force" were regular launchers with small, less articulated figs? 3. WTF is this then? 4. WTF are these? Late series figs? The whole style looks different.

I'm pretty good on Dragon Flyz, here's what I know:
First series (rubber heads, wings around neck, Galoob) 1995: The first set of six figures were released with a launcher - Z'Neth, Apex, Summit, Peak, Dreadwing & Fryte Three figures were then released with a launcher and a Gremwing (a little thing with wings that also flies) - Peak in green, Dark Z'Neth in red and Dreadwing with green wings. the almighty Riptor dragon was released with Master Z'Neth (Z'Neth in red and gold) and a Gremwing I can't quite work out when regular Dram and Dramen were released, but I seem to remember the first six figures being sold carded without launchers so maybe they were part of that release style, don't hold me to that though, there was also a McDonald's figure or so put out about this time (I only have Peak). 1996: repaints of all of the figures from 1995 were released without launchers on card to compliment the boxed figure and launcher sets. The Lost Years: There's then some stuff that's a bit hard to pin down, another series was released Europe, they're boxed with launchers (the double headed dragon launchers you sometimes see) and it appears that at least the three male Dragon Flyz were released. The blog Shesfantastic has also found a Nocturna figure from this time. Fist Force: A latter attempt at revitalizing the line, uses those hilt-shaped launchers, I don't own any so I don't know if they're smaller
Second series (smaller, Batman: The Animated Series style, Wings on backpacks) A completely different series released much later, in about 2002 I think, by Jakk's Pacific (who obviously weren't content with making horrid Wrestlers they wanted to make horrid Dragon Flyz too), these included some new (pretty impressive) Dragons sold separately, I bought Z'Neth at a bootsale out of sheer loyalty to the original line and to the character.

Thank you! That's been driving me nuts. Also I thought Gremwings were all big dragon launchers, and only that one was pictured on Figurerealm. So those McDonalds one(s) must look almost the same as a regular fig, huh? There's one in that pic in your intro thread, right?

The Gremwings figures came with launchers but they're regular launchers, only the almighty Riptor is a large poseable dragon (so only Z'Neth came with a large dragon). I've got a Series 2 Back of Card picture I stole off eBay ages ago, can I post that? On the McDonald's thing...no that was just be me being confusing in that thread, here's a picture of a McDonald's one: He's there next to the modern Dragon Flyz, and that should give you an idea of how big he is (the Goosebumps and Power Rangers stuff is about 5").

NEVER seen one of those McD's. Cool! The general consensus around here is eBay pics are public domain, so post away. It's just personal collection pix that need permission to be used.

This should be a complete overview of the first year and early on in the second (up to the carded repaint figures without launchers)
