I don't do crazy expensive. The way I collect is by buying lots, keeping a few pieces and selling the rest. I did some fact checking, and these don't turn up very often. If I can't build the line using my model I just won't build it.
This is a hella cool line though. I also noticed they were incorporated into the new Thundercats cartoon which is a nice nod.

Complete loose figures will run you $100+ for each. Still need one last figure myself, it will take some time to complete this line, especially if you don't want to overpay.

Yeah these guys are tough to get. Put it this way, I spent 180 dollars getting a mixed lot of 80's toys that I was able to keep a decent Mako figure and sell the rest for 140. I also kept some other figures, so I'm not too bummed about it. But throwing around chunks of money like that is not fun :/ He's easily one of my favorite figures though. On the flip side, I scored a 100% complete and awesome condition T-Ray in a small lot of figures labelled "space guys" for 40 dollars

T-Ray is the one I got. From the looks of him this line would have worked well with Thundercats. Was it a spin off?
As I said before the Tigersharks made a cameo in the new Thundercats cartoons.

I think it would have worked well also. I'm not really sure what it lacked, but I remember NO one knew about it when I was a kid. A few people did, and I think one of my brothers friends had a Spike Marlin figure, but I wish it had gotten more exposure. I know its a long shot, but it would be so cool to eventually see bandai do updated classics figs of the original entire run of Tigersharks. These two guys are probably some of my favorite figures:

Love the collections fellas! I think these are so cool looking, but I already collect so many lines, there's no way I could afford these unless I stopped collecting AD&D, JLU, SHS, MOTU, Star Wars, MUSCLE, Pee Wee's Playhouse, all my vintage videogame stuff, my windups, etc. I've always wondered why these were so expensive though? They must have been a really limited run..Anyway, Kudos on the collections and displays!

I recently saw some pics of some of the unreleased stuff from this line on one of the toy wiki websites. I forget his name but the frankenstein dragon (Dragonstein possibly?) guy is AWESOME! Too bad they never released him. Also had some cool vehicles and a playset they never put out.

Yeah they large Sark vehicle looks incredibly cool. I wish we had gotten that released in some fashion. It's up there next to the Thunderstrike in amazingly-cool vehicle designs (IMO). I also wish we could get a Tigersharks DVD of all of the episodes. The only ones I can find are super grainy VHS recordings on youtube, which are still cool, but I wish they'd release something proper.

I was surprised at the size of the action figures. They are much larger than others out there.

Yeah, the Thundercats were a great size as well. Does anyone know if they are going to release the Tigersharks cartoon again?

Tigersharks are one of those unicorn lines that are nigh impossible to find. The cartoon only aired in a block called The Comic Strip. It was accomanied by Street Frogs, Karate Kat and something about monster kids at summer camp? The show itself was as good as Silverhawks or Thundercats complete with a catchy intro song.

Holy crap. Is anyone else seeing that proto online? are we allowed to talk about it, because WOW. I thought the article here had clarified all protos of the series? the catalog also shows two other possible figures "Shad the Bad, and Walleye". I'm thankful to at least get to see stuff like this. Very cool.

I was able to pick up the entire line of Tigersharks a few months back. All are minty fresh off the card and 100% complete. One of my new most favorite lines!

The reason Tigersharks failed was because it was aired on sunday mornings in a block called "The Comic Strip" ....the 3 other cartoons aired along with it were absolutely terrible (Karate Kat- extremely forgettable waste of animation cels, Street Frogs- literally the worst cartoon Ive ever seen, and Mini Monsters- the only somewhat decent one aside from TSharks) and if Tigersharks was marketed on its own it would have lasted longer. There are only 10 episodes remaining in circulation and the other episodes are considered lost although Warner Bros. Does have it in their archive, it can not be released due to copyright troubles. There was an entire second series of figures planned, which the Grunt prototype pictured above comes from. All of Captain Bizzarelys pirate crew were to be produced as well as the vehicles, Dragonstein, and female character Octavia. The same person who designed the Silverhawks toyline sculpted the Tigersharks figures. Other prototypes of the unreleased figures do exist in private collections. Dragonstein's head sculpted in dynacast sold on ebay back in 2002 and hasnt been seen since.

Thanks for the extra link of where to find these Tiger shark characters. I am always on the lookout for sites that aren't mainstream where I can broaden my collection in an authentic way.
