I won these a while back and didn't get a chance to show 'em off 'til now. Anyway...I was on a mini-figure kick and came across these on eBay. They were advertised by the seller as unproduced Batteltech figures. I was never big into Battletech, but knew of it. To me, it was the unsuccessful Exo Squad ripoff, sorry! Anyway, did a little digging and couldn't find any info on these, so I assume they are indeed some kind of unproduced figures. Any confirmation?

Here's a closeup...the only markings on the figures are copyright 1987 LT1 (or LTI). I never owned any Battletech or saw any in person. These guys are about two inches tall, similar in size and proportion to Air Raiders and even have a small slot or groove on their bottom right ankles.

Here is a closeup of the robot...same deal. Never saw the show...so if these are Battletech, do they have names? Don't know if these were prototypes, mock-ups, or just had low production or whatever...tried looking 'em up, but no dice. Maybe I just overlooked them. So, once again, can anyone confirm exactly what these are?

Now I know who outbid me! Those are most definitely NOT Battletech figures (the dates should give them away). They are made by Lionel and they are called Power Masters. I have a couple examples but not many. As far as I know, they were Lionel's only attempt at making action figures. They came with large backpacks that had mechanical actions, and there were a few vehicles made if I understand correctly. Anyway, that's what they are, congratulations for paying more than I wanted to pay for them.

By the way, I hope my response indicates that they were indeed produced toys. I don't have most of those figures, but I know the yellow robot and the guy in turquoise were definitely produced.

Heh, honestly...I just kinda liked 'em, and didn't care if they were unproduced or not. I just, well, kinda bid "whatever" at the time. I think the weird fantasy-style warrior was probably the icing on the cake. I'll post him up some other time. Thanks for the ID...I'll have to look into those toys...never been on my radar before and now I'm curious.
Oh, if anyone cares, I think I ended up paying over forty bucks for the lot. Did I get "ripped off"...eh, I dunno. I'm bad with money to begin with.

Yeah, that fantasy figure is a mystery! Now THAT might be unproduced!
It was a tough call on the lot because I know they're supposed to come with accessories and stuff. I used to buy that sort of thing before, but after accepting some harsh realities (seriously, am I EVER going to find Ben Gali's hammer by itself?), I just don't like to pay a whole lot if something is incomplete.

Here's the cardback as promised. It shows your yellow robot alien guy along with the other characters in the line (most of which are in this lot...minus their backpacks/vehicles/etc). Enjoy!

Wow, never even heard of this line...neat though. I tried looking up what I could on these toys before...ha ha ha...should have known...all I could get was info on Transformers Power Masters! Kinda frustrating, so thanks for posting the pics...these guys may not have been unproduced gems, but still I'd guess they are at least obscure and/or rare (to a point). At any rate, they are still pretty cool little guys, and I'm glad to have 'em!

The guy who runs the Super Toy Archive has a carded Lucky Cooper figure that he called "unproduced," although he wasn't sure. I like that they're produced so that there's actually a shot of getting them. I get the feeling they are pretty scarce though, especially considering that Lionel was not known for action figures.

It's 2018 and there is still not much information on Power Masters out here on the internet. With that said, Perhaps if and when someone is interested we can start piecing it together. I have a number of boarded figures, boxed figures, molds, documentation around color pallets, early sketches, correspondence between the toy designer and Lionel. Let me know if anyone is interested in a bunch of pics.
