humm this is a line ,i can remember as i had them when i was a kid . im sure thay were caled action jackson ,but thay were not the action man size . the ones i remember were small kits ,were you built the bodys yourself (came in a box about the size of a family pack of matches ..the big box of matches?,). there was a back and front ,place the arms and legs in place and close the front of the body to the back ,then you pop the head/neck straigth though the body and it keep it in place (also the arms and legs had joints at elbows and knees ,). thay also came with items (the snow type came with skis and stuff )(the rescue one came with med. stuff) . came anyone remember em or know of a site about them ?

On the bottom of the figures I have is the date 1977 Biewan Barter. Their heads are kinda hollow till you put their hair, hat, head dressing on.

Toyboxraider, your Indian is from the Heroes line by Hestair, they came packaged either as single figures in boxes or as twin packs carded. I think I've got some spare accessories fo the Indian Also, I think the figures Catgut is describing may be Action Jack. Check out Luke's site for info and pics www.geocities.com/lukemeadley/

Wow two mysteries solved, thanks gort. Do you have any other info on this line of Heroes by Hestair. I noticed they are similar to Catgut's figures but you are certainly right they are different. At least I have a name for them now. Any more information would be icing on the cake.

I don't have a huge amount of info. I had a bunch of these as a kid, and a few now ;D From what I can work out the initial range consisted of:- Astronaut Cowboy Indian Brave Indian Cheif English Soldier German Soldier Army Medic Policeman (British Bobby style) Later came a couple of aliens And there was also a Space Buggy, British and German Army Jeeps and an Army Ambulance

I have the white and red skull-face guy. Never knew what line these were from, but I've always liked the figure.
