I recently got these in a small lot with some Burger King Universal figures. They're about 4 1/2" (115mm) tall and have head, arm and waist articulation. No makers mark or date. The coffin has a mechanism for the figure to 'pop up' Any ideas ?

Do they have any leg articulation? Can you see a date stamp anywhere on them. Kinda cool figs!

No date stamp, in fact no markings of any kind that I can see.
No leg articulation either, which is a bit of a shame. They are kind of cool though, especially the zombie guy, I'm curious to know if there's any others out there.

Zombie guy look a bit like Leech from X-Men, could he be one of these hundred of X-themed figure Toybiz launched in the 1990's?

Thanks for the idea, I'll certainly look into it although I have my doubts he's a Toybiz figure. The articulation seems wrong and Toybiz usually have a makers mark somewhere. I suspect they're both from the same line, I've just no idea what it is

Hello, this guys are from a classic monster line. I have a mummy and the same white zombie. Yours should have at the back a screw with a triangle head, until I know those screw heads are mainly used in japanese toys, but I am not sure if this figures are from a japanese line. I though they were from a Scooby Doo fast food line, but now I don't know what to think about them. Here's pic of the "Frankenstein" from the line. This Frankenstein is picture a friend sent me, sorry for the quality. I'll try to post a pic of the mummy if I get a camera.

Thanks hudasa21, that's the line, mine have the screw as well.
Thanks for the Frankenstein pic, so there are at least two more out there.
I had thought fast food toy myself, but the lack of any identifying marks would be unussual. Apart from the lack of leg articulation the quality of the plastic and sculpt seems to good for just a cheap knock-off line.

Gort, see if it says anything on the underside of Dracula's casket. That zombie figure also comes with coffin that he can spring out of. The coffin has "Maxx 2003" underneath it, nothing else. I've tried to figure out what line this figure goes with before, to no avail.

Nice spot Zinggia, the coffin does indeed have 'Maxx / China 03' underneath. I missed that earlier.
I'll try and do some more research with that info

Nice, a werewolf as well, and the mummy looks great.
So far I've had no luck trying to ID the line, I even contacted the owner of a horror figure website.
Great diagram as well, maybe if we find other figures with the same screw and feet holes we may find the make?

McDonald's is the only one I know of that uses triangular screws. They use them for almost all of their toys. The hex peg holes are kind of common. Maybe they are McDonalds UK Exclusives. BK released horror monsters a few years ago in coffins: vampire, creature from the black lagoon, werewolf, etc.

Got them Creature Crypts by Maxx Marketing, a kids meal giveaway in Taco Bell in the US and KFC elsewhere. Looks like there was some kind of bat as well as the figures we've got covered here. The figures have names (the werewolf is Wolvadian, Frankenstein is Beastor, Dracula is Count Vlad (?) can't make out the rest) which is probably why they've been so hard to ID. Thanks to everyone who contributed, these have been driving me mad.

That's great!! finally we know the name of the line, thanks a lot Gort. I've never seen the bat that appears on the top corner, looks fun. I also identified the Robo Bots, I have a couple of those little robots and didn't know what they were, thanks for the link. Mystery solved

Awesome! Thanks for doing all the heavy lifting, Gort. I probably never would have got around to looking into it again, but it is nice to finally know the answer.

I live in the UK and I have managed to collect a complete set of these Creature Crypts. I have a Zombie, Wolf, Vampire, Franky and Mummy (had to get this one from the USA) but I have heard talk of a vampire bat figure. Is this true? as I have seen no photographic proof that this figure exists. If someone has this figure could they post a picture so I can try and complete my collection as I don't know what I am looking for regards tycoontoyboy

no problem. i believe they were just called famous ghosts, its napoleon, lincoln, poe and a girl i forget if its marie antoinette or anne boleyn but thats the whole line. they all glow and look really cool, ive tried to take pics but they dont come out. of course they are a solid piece no articulation at all.
i just need the mummy and mostly the vampire to finish this line.
