Here's a nice little oddity I picked up at a recent toy fair, 2002 MD Space Robot They're basicly generic die cast and plastic robot toys, probably from the 70's / 80's, about 3 1/2" (9cm) tall. I've seen variations on these guys a few times and had been looking to pick some up. They're kind of cool in that 70's robot sort of way, and with shooting fists capable of taking out an eye at ten paces Virtual Toychest has a page for Star Fleet Defenders, same bodies, different heads. These were made by AHI in 1977 but I'm guessing they all came from the same factory at some time or another. www.virtualtoychest.com/starfleet/starfleet.htmlI've also seen at least two other similar examples, same basic construclion, but with a different body and lower legs (the die cast parts), one owned by Hudassa21 and the other by a member of RJ. Does anyone else own some of these little guys? Any more information?

I have the black & white one, the orange & black one, and one that isn't pictured. They are pretty cool, and their fists shoot far! I have no info on them however. The pics you have of the carded figures are the first I've seen.

Yeah, info seems pretty scarce, and while I don't think they're expensive, they are pretty difficult to track down as no-one knows what they are. ...and their fists shoot far! hehe, no modern safety standards here

I got the ones that I have from a woman in Arkansas. She had a big Shogun Manzinga listed on ebay as a 'Buy It Now"for $25 (complete, box and all). I bought it and a few days later she sent me an email saying she had some some (5) smaller figures that were like Manzinga, only smaller. I offered her $10 more and she took it. I didn't see any pics, but for $10 it was worth the gamble. When the box arrived it was two of the figures in your pic, one from the same line (missing 1 fist), and two of Mattels 5" Shogun Warriors complete with everything but the box (instructions and all the little red swords and drill fists etc.). It made my day.

Yeah, that time it was. I've been burned on a few blind buys. I've come out ahead overall though.

Spring loaded projectiles are so much weaker than they used to be. Those are pretty cool, I've seen other little robots like that I can't really remember what they were called though. $25 bucks for a boxed Mazinga! You slung her a big chunk of man meat.

That's interesting, all of the ones I've seen so far have shoting fists, maybe your's are a later version to fit modern safety laws? Are they still die-cast (body and lower legs)?
Hudasa21 has an orange, black and silver one with the same torso/waist as the one Clambo has, so there are definatly at least two body types.

Torso and lower legs are die-cast metal. You've probably done this already but look up the crotch. Does yours have a spring there in between the legs?

Just checked (ok, so I may have noticed earlier, just by chance...) and yep, spring crotch. That makes at least four versions of these

I've got the gold Silver Warrior loose. They're alright, not near as cool as the shooting fist robots.

Yeah, out of all the small scale die-cast robots I own these are probably my favourites.
What amazes me is how many we've amassed between us that still have their fists, by all rights they should all have been lost years ago!

I got three fists in a lot recently. Also, two of these guys I ripped off of their cards, each of them came with a set of back-up fists. I'm having more problems with their arms.

Note that his name is MONDALE spelled backwards, this was released during the time that Walter Mondale was a presidential candidate [/quote]

Sweet collection! How big is the white/silver/red guy? He's pretty big, I put him next to the normal one for comparison...

Cool collection!
The 'jumbo' is fantastic, did you get that from Japan?
I've not seen the Warriors From Planet "X" card before, I wonder just how many names these have been released under.
