I was going through some of my vintage BSG ships and I noticed that my Stellar Probe had some white pieces to it when the toy itself is grey. Now I am pretty sure all the Vipers are white and all the Landrams are grey but did they produce the Scarab or Landram in both white and grey? Just wondering if any BSG experts out their can shed some light.

I haven't seen like that before.
That Cylon supposed be gold color on gloves and upper boots with it's gold plated body & head.
It has silver color on gloves & boots.
Is that a real variant or painted by owner?

Never seen that before. Either it was painted or somebody was hung over in the factory in 1978 and mixed up the parts ;D.

OK I just picked up a Daggit with tail at the toy show on the weekend so I am looking for some more of these figures, I kind of got addicted to the new show. This seems like a pretty easy line to complete and the figures are pretty inexpensive on Ebay. What should I be looking at paying for the second series of figures?

Pricing is somewhat higher for the 2nd series compared to the first. Last I remmembered most of the second series loose and complete will run you $25-$30 loose and complete. I have a few figures for sale on my store including Lucifer, that you may want to check out. www.action-figures.ca/catalog/index.php?cPath=58

I finally completed my BSG 4" figure line today with a Lucifer that just arrived in the mail. I picked him up using a Buy It Now for $20. The last figure I picked up before this was Boray in a 50 cent action figure bin at a flea market last Summer.

I currently have Starbuck. I had Adama, the Cylon Centurion, and the Cylon Commander when I was younger(seemed like I waited forever to get that cylon commander in the mail). The two I'm really interested in getting are Baltar & Lucifer.Too bad Mattel never produced more of the human characters(Apollo, Boomer, Sheba, Cassie, Cain, Tigh, Athena, etc.) They probably has licensing issues with the other cast members.

They should have at least produced Apollo! Its actually to bad that they didn't produce the ships so you could put the 3 3/4" figures in them. Why they wouldn' follow the success of the Star wars line I'll never know.

As I've mentioned before, Majestic Studios should look into launching a line of 3 3/4-4" figures(with a little more articulation and accessories) along with vehicles and maybe a few playsets based on both the original series and the current series. I'm already thinking of the stop-motion fan film I would do if these were available. A parody of the whole "Dirk Benedict VS Katee Sackhoff" thing.

It seems this was sold on Ebay last year for $5100! Would have been cool if it was made. Also here's an article in an issue of Starlog magazine that has more opics on the ship: www.lurexlounge.com/bsg/starlog27.php

That box looks worn, like it was produced and made it to someones attic. I'd buy it.
...and a Borays' club.

Hello - does anyone know the background story on the Mattel line of Battlestar Galactica figures? In particular why was there no figure of Apollo produced? It is strange that a main character like Apollo was not produced when Starbuck & Adama were produced in the 1st batch. I heard a rumour that Boomer was a proposed figure. Did Richard Hatch object to his figure being produced? Flipper

Not really sure why they ended the line so quickly. Thought i read about it on a Website years ago, but can't seem to find the info now. You might want to check out this site in detail, as it might have more info somewhere www.lurexlounge.com/bsg/figures01.php

As I heard it Richard Hatch did not want his image used or wanted more money or something for it.

As I heard it Richard Hatch did not want his image used or wanted more money or something for it. I suspected that was the answer as it just seemed so strange that a main character was missing from the line-up of action figures. Although, now it seems that Hatch is a big surporter of BSG - it would be nice to see any custom figures of a Mattel Apollo figure.

i just want to give a shout out to Mattels Battlestar Galactica figures of the 70s, Fantastic- i know the faces were mostly unpainted etc, but these guys ruled, only the boray really let the line down, b ut for durability and play value the battlestar stuff was great.i remember being astounded at the cloth capes compared to the vinyl capes the star wars figures had at the time- and how cool an alien was the ovion when you were 8? fabulous

Although it was 6 years before I was born...i agree, the battlestar line is really awesome. I started watching the series on netflix awhile back and now i am in search of the figures....the only thing I currently own is the 4 pack gift set. Lucifer and the gold cylon are IMO the coolest.

I watched that series too and thought the Viper spaceship was on of the coolest ships made; small and compact without the pesky wings which could get broken like the X-wing fighter. The cyclon ships were BA too. I don't collect Battlestar items but I do have gold and silver cylons. Cylons and Stormtroopers - that's some evil we can all get behind.

that boray really is the most lame ass piece of crud ever tho isnt it- i mean how long did they spend on the guy? but the other figures are classics i mean true toy classics- fabulous.i had boray once his legs dont move he is hardly painted badly sculpted and his head wobbled like it was gonna come off- when you have 3 points of articulation, for one to be really crap thats goin some.-haha i suppose he has a charm- i just dont know what it is.lol. i liked the joint of meat he has as an accesory - no gun- hes gonna club you to death with his dinner.

yeah, all those reasons you listed for disliking boray are some of the reasons i like him so much. "he's gonna club you to death with his dinner" made me laugh so hard! also, i just picked up this lot on the bay. do you thing that is an actual cylon commander? or a centurion painted gold? the item description stated "cylon painted gold (and painted badly)." i am HOPING that the person who had sold it maybe just wasn't aware that a gold version had been released. I don't know though, the gold does seem rather matted compared to commanders i have seen, and the arm spray does look sloppy. then again, the picture is kind of hazy. any thoughts? i guess i just may have to wait until it arrives in my mailbox.

I think the Boray is pretty cool, hes gonna be the next BSG figure I get. They could of made him a little more detailed, but I kind of like that undetailed look too
