It is not a backback...but her hair. The Bluish-Purple hair plugs into that hole.
Hope that helps.

Thanks guys!
However I found this awesome deal that helped offset the diassatisfaction....
I was the only bidder!!! I guess marketing is not so overrated. Had this thing been labeled more appropriatly, I may have paid way more!! Luckily I had the epiphany of looking up "Gallob" instead of merely "Blackstar"! $10.84 for a Warlock..... I can hardly believe it!

Good score on him Ramdog, you really can't go wrong for that price even if the figure clip is missing.

For the life of me I can't figure out which type of action figures these went with! Can anyone help me? They appear to be glow in the dark and from the 1980's. Other than that, I'm at a complete loss! Thanks! Attachments:

The figure guide on this site is amazing for blackstar and identifying the weapons owners.

i have finally got around to picking up this toyline. but, is it just me, or did the prices of blackstar figures drastically increase over the last couple years (at least on ebay)? i remember seeing moc figures running around $50-60 each not to long ago..

I'll kick this one off - I know that this line is notorious for variations, but as I'm sitting hear cleaning out my extra figures to save on room, I noticed this specific variation on John Blackstar's series 1 figure. I'm guessing that it's not that uncommon since I have several of each version, but I was hopong someone could shed some light on this detail. You'll notice that the hole on his back is located in different places. I know that the cape typically goes in the top center hole, but what's the deal with the hole on some of the figures that is located on the lower back off to the right? If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Also, please post you variations so that we can try to illustrate all of them!

My Blackstar's buried. Was his sword holder attached to his cape? I can't remember now.....

Haha - I think that the hole on the neck was meant for a cape and the hole on the lower back was meant for the sword sheath maybe?
I'm wondering a few things - did all series 1 John Blackstars come with the cape sheath and sword? Perhaps some came just with the cape and sword ( no sheath ) and some came with the sheath and sword ( no cape )?
Or, was there a different version cape that came with the verson that had the sheath hole - maybe a cape with an elastic that went around the neck? I'm completely confused!

Wait, the Laser Lights didn't have capes, right? Someone here is a Blackstar expert. Then all questions will be answered.

Correct - The John Blackstar Laser-Light does not have a cape. I know that there are other ( at least one ) Laser-Light figures that do have capes which attach differently than the series 1 capes.
But I Digress...

I have one of the vehicles, it's a re-color of the Horrible Hammer from the Infacables line. The art on the packaging was awseome!

There were several variations in the series. I have a few as well. Most notably-a series 1 John Blackstar with boots which are about the same color as his scabbard-much lighter than the darker brown fur undies he sports. Most of the variations were due to running changes during the factory production of the series....i.e. cost cutting. Changes in appendage sculpt, leg connection bands, & color/paint app variations. I love the Blackstar series, but these guys do not tend to age gracefully when compared to some of their contemporaries.

I just bought a Blackstars Meuton the other day and it has everything except the handcuffs. So I bought a pair of those little novelty finger cuffs as a stand in. Can someone tell me or show a picture of the actual cuffs that belongs to Meuton with something to show comparison. .

Blackstar... HELLO! I lurve this figure line. In fact it's what got me collecting (as a 'dult) in someways and researching the net for AFs. Blackstar is just about tops in my book! A few years back I picked up LL Blackstar, LL Overlord, LL Vizor, LL Palace Guard, & LL Kadray all MOC at an antique store for next to nothing. (I missed out on a MOC Super Powers Wonder Woman, left it for a few days - dumb of me). I'd remembered my best friend having these toys as a kid, that sparked, but for years had no way of knowing what they were. (sparking flint in back, was Galoob trying to get kids smoking??) Reading Crystar comics made me think it was Crystar for a few years... Also have a loose, dog bashed, flint n' spring missing, worse for wear Overlord. He really is the invincible wizard!! I even painted up my BMX to match Overlords colour design, complete with the two little blue triangles he has on his shoulders. -ahem- geek -ahem- Wish I lived in US sometimes because livin' in Kiwiland no-one knows what Blackstar is, they never show up by name on trade sites here... and I've never seen them in junk shops again. Though there's an upside to their obscurity here if I get lucky

Wow, neat! Any chance you could...y'know...translate the little write-up? I'd love to know what it says!
Who's the wolf supposed to be, I wonder? And the blue dude...I know the Trobbits were originally supposed to be blue-skinned, but is that supposed to be Balkar (or whatever his name was...always forget)?
The artwork is just awesome!

That is a very cool depiction of Blackstar, the style and lighting really suit him somehow. Mean.

I think Drekkus or someone else from the Netherlands or Belgium could do that without mistakes. I speak Dutch only a little (I can read the most). But to sum it up it says: Buy this door large poster for 5 Gulden (that's like $3) in a game store near you.

I scanned that add as well I got it from the dutch comic magazine called Eppo Wordt Vervolgd (To Be Continued) from Ocober 1985. I have it also in a 600dpi scan but can't upload it since it's over 100mb. I could translate it when i get the time for it, but atm i'm in the middle of an overseas moving which will take up several months of work with all the packing. I'm only collecting Trobbits so far. I have 5: Rif, Carpo, Gossamer, Balkar & Poulo. I thought there where 7 Trobbits in total, but I mostly see 6 listed. I'll try to find more info to see if there really is a 7th Trobbit.

I don't know if this was shown before but Blackstar and Infaceables were advertised together in Belgium/Netherlands: in greece they were sold as master of theuniverse under the same line. yes that was the name but not to be confused with he-man:p also all the infacables vehicles were all for blackstar but were later changed to the just infacables as blackstar didnt fare as well in the u.s. as else wher prbably due to having a toyline years after your show was caneclleds.

I found an image of the 7th Trobbit figure. His name is Burble. What is weird is that this appears to be a store exclusive from lulu-berlu made in 2007. Does anyone have more info about it and is this really considered a part of the collection because of it's manufacturing date? with the group:
