For the first time, I saw this new line by Hasbro. Interesting idea making a pocket sized line which I think was a good idea but man are they over-priced in my opinion, weighing in at $8.44 a piece at Wal-Mart. Wow.

Picked up my first figures from this line last night. Silver Surfer and Hand ninja. Both pretty sweet. I've got at least Thing, Black Panther, and Moon Knight on the wish list.

I just picked up the Comic Version of Deadpool, and I'm going to put him in my Cobra army. He fits in great with the 25th Anniversary figures, he even has some of the same weapons. I don't really collect Comic figures, but if they keep making cool villains like him I can add to my Cobra ranks, I'm all about it.

Really expensive but I'm collecting them. They appear to have the best manufacturing quality among all of Hasbro's 3.75" lines. Been fantasizing about superhero figures in this scale for years.

That seems to be the nice thing, a lot of people are just getting a handfull of favorite figures. Although I admit I went a bit overboard already, and the Secret Wars packs look fantastic. I just hope they quit making Spider-Mans. I don't need dozens. I didn't buy any of the single packs thankfully.

Secret Wars two packs are now at Target. These figures look so nice, I'm offically hooked on MU.

I felt this line is improving and needed a thread here. I recently got two variants of the Iron Patriot and wanted to make sure that the one without a helmet is possibly a rare variant?

Yeah the unmasked one is the variant and seems it is going to be quite a hard to find figure.

If you've not picked up the Galactus figure, I highly recommend to do so. It is a fantastic figure,. whichever version you get.

Finally was able to find a Thanos and I also found a clear Vision which I'm guessing is a rare variant cause on the card he is colored, can somebody confirm if he is kinda rare variant?

The original release of Vision about a year ago was the version you see on the card. Phasing Vision (the clear one you have) is found in new revision cases that Hasbro has been releasing in the last month or so. Since there are a bunch of different revision cases phasing Vision will likely be easy to find in some places and impossible to find in others.

Be on the lookout at your local Targets for their exclusive Marvel Universe 2-packs cause they have been put on a quick clearance price of just 3.24 each.

I've already picked up four, the Wolverine/Ninja and Spidey/Green Goblin pack I passed on orginally and both of the Black Panther/Iron Man packs they had. I might pick up some more if they are still there next go around.

I wonder if Target will have the same set up in the toy section when they come to Canada as they do in the U.S. Our Zellers suck so bad...it is like a retro toy store of the last 3 years but only the junk is left. They never get anything new because they will not blow out the old lines and left overs and have no room for anything.
Anyone want some wave one G.I.Joe movie action figures??? there is 10 covergirls warming the pegs here for you...marked down to an amazing $6.97 (from $9.97)[/b] I read the first part of this post, and then saw the date...from two years ago...what makes me laugh is that there is a hand ninja still on the peg in our Zellers priced at $9.97 Canadian. Our Walmart does not have the same set up as the U.S. ones and really does not get any figures at all. I have to relie on ebay, online shopping or trips to the U.S. Still hoping a wave 2 of the new Joes comes in (1105 to 1108)

I doubt there will any left on the next go around cause those are some great clearance prices. I found like 10 to 12 packs in total at the 3 Targets I went to and the one I got 8 packs at I was lucky cause they didn't have the clearance sticker on them yet.

Am I crazy or are a lot of these figures HTF? I still can't find an Archangel but I've finally found an Apocalypse and boy does he look vicious. I saw on one of my packages that Cable has a baby on his chest, what's that about and is it a rare variant?

Post by mrjayberry on Jul 10, 2011 20:23:00 GMT -6
The baby is named Hope and was the main plot point in the recent Messiah Complex storyline. I haven't read it but the basic plot is she is the first mutant born after most of the mutants were depowered. Cable took her into the future to train her because people were trying to kill and capture her.
There are two versions out there, one with Hope and one without Hope. I don't know if they've gotten a wide enough release to tell if one is rarer than the other. For what it's worth the one I have was the Hope version but these haven't hit at any of the major retailers around here.

I did see 4 Cable figures at my Target only because they got this big display box of Marvel Universe figures and I looked over a few Cable figures just to see if there was something different but I think I would have noticed a baby on his chest amoung the four. I would favor that the one you got is rarer variant. Do you know the story on the death face variant of Arachangel?

You want to know about death face Archangel backstory in the comics?
I'd like the death face variant better if it had come with the full wings and the compacted wings were an extra accessory.

I agree the small wings are lame but the face looks cool. Yes I was curious if you knew the story cause I was too lazy to look it up. It's no big deal I'm sure it's likely onl Wiki.

Angel lost his wings in the Mutant Massacre crossover, Apocalypse gave Angel his metal wings and transformed him into Death (Arcangel) one of his four Horsemen.

Thanks for the info on that, I do think his Archangel look is a major upgrade from before. Now just to find a few of his figures so I can open one.

Does anyone know which Absorbing Man is considered the rare variant? I picked up 2 in the none metal form cause on the card it showed him in metal form so I took his regular form as a variant, was I right to pick these two or did I make a mistake?

Generally neither one that much rarer. I know right now the flesh version is easier to find. It also sometimes depends on where you live. I know with, for example, the Giant Battle Giant Man he only got the red version and I had to trade for the yellow and blue version who was abundant in other parts of the country.
