A lot of good info in there, and I've never used the Google translator until now. I've bookmarked that page. I never knew Matchbox made figures-or did they? I didn't think they made a sword or shield, either, but they are pictured on the back of the box.

I saw the pic on the site and it is misleading, there are two picture there. If you read further down the article you will see that Panosh Place redesigned the lions and added figures to the line up. If you ask Me for the American release, Panosh Place made the best Voltron.

Yeah I find it a lot easier to just focus on the Panosh Palace (Is it palace or place, I keep seeing it both ways) toys. Thankfully I'm not a full completeist or I'd go crazy trying to get all the small weapons that came with each lion

I think someone posted oics of the Panosh catalog last year in the Rogues Gallery (the search function should find it for ya). It was the catalog that featured the unrealesed second series so not sure if the vehicles are in their or not. They weren't the largest of pics though.

I got in a huge Starriors parts lot today and noticed a bunch of the same Voltron part....at least until I compared them. So I have 2 seperate molds in both silver and black and what I think is a knock off weapon. Is this a variant, or did certain lions come with the one on the right and others come with the one in the center? Here's some comparison pics: (The possible knock off is on the far right, the top pic is the only one that has all three in it to show the correct scale, the next two are pieced together) Here's the black and silver ones without the possible KO guns. I don't think there are gold variants, I think it's probably just yellowing, but if I'm wrong please tell me

shogi the 'knock off' gun seems to have better detail than the genuine items, is that the case?

Ah, cool. A Voltron discussion already in progress.
I've been doing some sorting lately.
I have two small Diecast lions (3 and 2). Both missing heads. They got the silver stickers with a 1981 stamp date. I also have a large #4 Lion, Diecast. He's made in Taiwan, not Japan and has GOLION on the silver sticker. These 3 belong together, correct?
I also have 4 of the large plastic ones, Panosh I believe.

I went to a local thrift store/liquidation place I visit often. I was talking to one of the guys who runs it and asked if he had any 80s toys, figures, etc. in the back. He said no, but after talking more, he comes out of the back with a Lionbot unplayed with in the box. He told me he wanted around $300 for it, haha. I got home and see they sell for generally $70-$100 each.
I'm thinking of offering $50, because it does look cool as hell.

In Australia the single boxed panosh place lions came with all chrome weapons except for the tail guns which were either black or an orangey/red colour, The Voltron boxset came with the exact same weapons but they were coloured either red or black ( except of course the voltron sword and shield which were still chrome) Also if it has WEP on the toy it is made by panosh place

I have been going through boxes of old toys I found recently. I have searched all over the toy and can't find any markings on it. Does anyone know what toy this is and what show it's from or if it's even worth keeping? Attachments:

He is a Voltron bad guy named Robeast Scorpius. You can look him up in the figure archive right on this website!! Just need his red mace to complete him!

red and black go to the 33/4 size and the silver goes to the metal version. if you have gold its the reissue. I'm not completely sure of that, I seem to remember having silver accessories as a kid and only had the plastic version. I have read somewhere else that the full boxset version of the plastic one had silver but the individually boxed lions had black and red.

Panosh place only ever made a plastic voltron .The metal voltron is made by matchbox I have the complete set of single boxed plastic panosh place lions(all with chrome weapons) I also used to own the single boxed set when i was a kid (it also had chrome weapons back then ) I have the plastic panosh place giftset full boxed version (with coloured weapons) . Thats not to say that the giftset didn't also have a chrome weapons version as well but from my experience it always seems to have the coloured weapons

So the full plastic set could have come with Chrome or black/red, depending on the type of set?

I have heard that the panosh place 14 inch voltron boxset version can come with either chromed or coloured weapons but from the endless auctions I see on ebay it always seems that the boxset version only ever has black and red weapons. So I believe the boxset only ever came with those coloured weapons.

This sort of looks like the main Voltron thread so I hope it's okay to reply here after all this time. Was looking at an old screenshot of a Volt auction, and was curious about it. Faces look different and coloring differs too. And one has two buttons on his shirt, and the other one. Red trim on one guy. Is there a list of known variations on these guys? Thanks and happy New Year.
