If any of you are having a delay on the Crystal Skull mail away I heard that they are starting to mail them out again. I'm due 3 and one of those was suppose to come by the end of last year! I still had one certificate ready to send in but ran out of time. I then found out the offer was extended to Jan.1 so I sent the last one I had off around Christmas time. The check just now cleared late this past week.

I picked up a bunch of t-shirt Mutt Williams for $1.00 each at Wal-Mart about a week ago or so. That makes my 3 3/4 line complete w/ 2 of each except for the TOD series and Vogel.

I was looking through the clearance aisle of a store today and happened to notice this Sallah from the now extinct Indiana Jones line was featuring a shave the other Sallahs I've seen didn't have. It's probably not worth anything, but I thought it was an interesting goof as I had never seen one out of all the Sallahs I have seen.

This is a copy of the postcard I got from Hasbro regarding the Crystal Skeleton figure. Today I was at a Wal-Mart that put out what must have been 2-3 cases of IJ figures they must have found in the stockroom or something. Unfortunately, there wasn't any Temple Of Doom figures in amongst the stock but I did pick up three Russian Soldiers for $1.00 a piece. I also spotted some IJ items at Big Lots.

I got the same post card as well. You know it's funny they say the line didn't do so good which is why we never saw the Temple of Doom figures in the USA and yet they seem to have sold enough figures to have a MAJOR delay with the mail away Crystal Skeleton??? What is the truth Hasbro seriously!

What is the truth Hasbro seriously! It's hard to say why the line was so quickly killed off. I did find some TOD figures here in the US. They may have only put enough out nationwide that they lasted only about an hour on shelves, but they were in release .

I think hasbro overestimated the collector base for this line and that the KOTCS would actually be a good movie. The first waves suffered from very shoddy paint applications and it kind of looked like hasbro did not put any effort into quality control. The last lines were the best but in the end the movie failed to draw in the kids to play with the toys.

Temple of Doom figures in the US??? Where did you buy them at? I bought them at, of all places, a Dillons store. They had been reduced to I believe $2.99 a piece as soon as they hit the shelves. Someone had already gotten there as the Indy and Short Round where already gone.

Thank You Hasbro, I bought a deluxe indy with Ark for 2.00 a while ago and he promptly broke out of the package, I contacted Hasbro Consumer affairs who had me return him, in exchange they sent me the 12 in ARK OF THE COVENANT, this thing is huge and very well detailed.

Temple of Doom figures in the US??? Where did you buy them at? I've got three full sets of the TOD wave. I bought them mostly online, but I did see them at stores once or twice. At Meijer both times. It's a silly rumor to say that they weren't shipped to the states - they were. It was just in extremely limited quantities. Nowadays the T.O.D wave is at least a hundred bucks for a full set - although occassional snipes on eBay might net you them cheaper.

My question is are there a bunch of TOD figures sitting in a warehouse somewhere that might appear at a closeout store like Big Lots or was whatever made already distributed and that was it?

I think that we will see a large amount of the TOD wave show up at discount prices like we saw here in Canada, Hasbro must have made many more of these figures since they were planning to continue the line. I think that Hasbro is just waiting for the retailers to clear out the first three waves before releasing anymore.

Wow that Ark is a nice looking piece! I sure hope we see the TOD wave but I'm favoring that on wishful thinking really.

I got that 12 inch ark, it looks like a tissue box holder or a pretty nice jewelry box. I sent away for 2 crystal skulls and the ark, got all three as well as the little indy and horse as a freebie.

Hasbro must have made many more of these figures since they were planning to continue the line. I think that Hasbro is just waiting for the retailers to clear out the first three waves before releasing anymore. This is not likely. This line was released in early '08 and then canceled before Jan '09. What you see on the shelves is it. Hasbro's warehouse is practically empty of I.J. stuff, and they've already shipped clearance to places like Big Lots. What's lingering on the shelves is all there is, and Hasbro officials have even gone online stating that the T.O.D. wave will likely be difficult to find anywhere but Online Retailers. Hasbro dropped the ball big time with the Indy franchise, and their projections for the lines failure appear to be inaccurate, when using the Crystal Skeleton back order problem as a gauge. In any event, the TOD wave of Hasbro's Indiana Jones line will join the annals of Indiana Jones toy history as scarce and unsupported; along with the vintage Kenner Marion, the Streets of Cairo playset, and the LJN Indy line as well.

Basically the line died due to very poor assortments in every single wave. Half of each case, from every wave, had practically the same Indy Jones figures from KOTCS. That's why there were the same figures all over the place.

Basically the line died due to very poor assortments in every single wave. Half of each case, from every wave, had practically the same Indy Jones figures from KOTCS. That's why there were the same figures all over the place. Indeed. For me it were the following two issues I had with the Indy figures. First and foremost, paint application. No line should have facial paint application that is so horrendously bad you can dig through an entire case of figures and still not find a figure with droopy eyes or cross eyes. Hasbro seemed to have developed problems with getting the eyes right on ball jointed heads because SW: TAC had problems as well, mostly pupils pointing upward, making the figures look asleep. But this was worse! Which I don't understand, because other companies seem to have no problems applying eye paint to 3 3/4 inch scale figures and get it done properly. Second, a little horrible marketing ploy concerning the title character of the line. It's okay that a wave has two different versions of the main character but what is NOT okay is that over the entire stretch of waves there is something - arguably- wrong with each and every Indy figure that they made. The likeness is off, there's no hat, the articulation sucks, the hat is removable and too big, the stance is too wide, or the holster's gigantic, but every bloody time there's a problem with the character that makes it just. Not. Perfect. And since I've been in Star Wars for a while now, I know Hasbro and I know this is completely intentional. It's so they can do a character again and again and still have a reason to sell you the character twice or even three times over. Nevermind deluxe offerings - there will always be something inherently wrong with the main hero. Always. The best Indy you can get for your collection doesn't exist - you have to make it yourself. Get the head of a TOD Indy as it's by FAR the best head, and slap it on the two best bodies in the series, a KOTCS body for Indy with jacket or a rocket launcher Indy for Indy without jacket. The ball joints are 100 % interchangable and the skin tones match. And the Mutts were awful. Both bad quality control and bad judgment to put him in a single wave twice. Why not ditch the Mutt with Snake for a Marion, a Mac, or an Oxley.

I'm with you, I'm trying to make myself believe KOTCS doesn't exist! I think that's why I stayed away from the line, that and I never saw any TOD figures on the shelves in my area. The one thing that really tempted me was those Target exclusive multi packs. The Last Crusade Set with all of them on top of the tank was beautiful.

well i have heard alot of people say the canadian customs is basically infamouse as the most difficult in the world. but i guess thats actually a good thing.
i can understand how that would annoy you, but pretty much everyone ive seen online says theirs arrived beaten all up no matter what. lucky for me im a loose collector i guess.

It took me quite a while, but when I receive my Lost Wave Marion Ravenwood that I recently purchased on ebay I will finally have completed my 2008-era Indiana Jones 3.75" collection. After laying low from collecting for a year, I have purchased the German Mechanic and then now Marion from 2011's Lost Wave over the past couple of months. Marion wasn't cheap as she definitely made the top 5 single most expensive figures in my collection.
