Oh Great Moderators/Fearless Leaders
I do not know if this topic is going to go anywhere or if it even has a place. Sometimes when my mind wanders, I get
involved with numbers. My job deals alot with numbers and how they can reflect whatever someone wants them to. They can be positive or negative. The intent of this is not to be looked upon negatively, but I was looking at the membership number of 1,055 and just wondered to myself how active the membership is. I did not take the time to look at every member,
I do not have that much time.
What is interesting, at least to me, is that I have been a member since Sept 25, 2005, (albeit not always a vocal one judging by this being my milestone 50th posting, but always an active reader of the forums) and that this posting puts me into a tie for 79th in terms of the most postings. From this, it seems to me that there are a considerable number of members that are not active, or at least vocal. Of these 79, one last signed on
in 2005, 5 in 2006 and 4 have not signed in this year. That takes us down to 69.
I am sure that there are people who sign in regularly like I did for a considerable time just to read, but it would seem that the vocal/active membership is somewhere in the area of maybe 100 people considering that there are new people and additional new people continue to sign up. Would the elimination of those members who have not been active since 2006, or the rendering them to an inactive status provide you with needed space in the event you want to expand the website at some point? Take, for instance, the first name in the member
listing, named "1977". This person joined the day after I did
and was last active Sept 30, 2005. Have those who enter solely for the purposes of selling their phones only to be yelled at by
Clambo considered members?
Just a series of thoughts. As I said, my mind wanders.
