I recently bought an Imperial marked Fire Dragon. It's identical to my Remco fire dragon from the Ramar two pack but it's less rigid and is a brighter red. Does anyone know what it's from? Or is it just one of the many Imperial dragons?

Recently got an Imperial beast mount with a grey/silver saddle...I had thought these existed but was never officially sure 'til now! Grrrrrreat!!! I'll post some proof later...but anybody know if they made the saddles other than orange, pink, gold and silver? I know I saw an old trade ad somewhere, sometime that showed purple saddles, but who knows if they were just test shots or prototypes or something.

I finally got a nice collection of the harder-to-find Imperial monsters and beast mounts over the past few months or so! The silver saddle beast was the most recent. I actually forget how I first heard about or even saw a version like this before. The only recent memory was from an auction I lost maybe a month or so ago. About a week or so I saw this guy. In the past, I had hunted the blue two-header to no avail. I made the mistake of trusting a blurry photo on an eBay auction where the seller used an odd reddish background, making a green dragon look bluish...darn, my mistake (I eventually got a blue one though). I saw this guy here in a darkish photo...looked silver...I could've asked the seller, but I'm kinda...slow in da head, so I bid. It looked silver enough.Well, I was right...! Now, is this color saddle truly rare, or just rarer. Personally, I'm not sure. Any help? I've only seen the sabertooth serpent with a silver saddle. Here's a comparison shot with a gold saddle:

I bought this guy today. I'm an Imperial collector (mostly of the dragons/motu stuff) but I hadnt a clue they made a panda. I know of the lion, tiger, elephant, rhino, and horse of the regular animals but have never seen this. Are there more regular animal Imperial figures?? i sorta remember an eagle from childhood and maybe a bear... I have a 1979 kangaroo from Imperial. I'll try to show you someday on the scanner.

I got a Pink on top of figure rhino, is it scarce? If you mean a Rhino Avenger with pink paint, yes, that figure has been released in a pink-painted variant.

I've been trying to hammer out what figures are rare or not from the Imperial lines myself...as far as I can tell, the blue painted versions seem to be the rarest....BUT...I'm not an expert....yet!

Yes, the variety of monsters/fantasy animals was a lot more various back then. It seems now animal toys tend to be more "scientific" than "imaginary" today than twenty-five years ago. Of course, the variety of "real" animals is a lot wider today than back then (just look at the wonders Safari ltd and Bullyland lense every year); but in the other hand, we lost a bit of "imagination" for that. Different eras, different values.

I have aquired a tan version of the typically green (although i have seen one purple) two-headed dragon by imperial. It is copyright 1983. The figure does not appear to have been green and then faded although i wont consider that an imposibility just yet. If anything, it seems to be a mixture of grey and tan. It also seems to have been hand-painted. I have searched for another like it, but I found nothing of the sort. I just want to know why mine is tan, if it is rare, and if it has some potential monetary value. Thanks for the help! Attachments:

maybe a couple years ago when a few guys went imperial crazy it would have been worth a bit more. the 2 headed dragon comes in TONS of color varieties. a couple of the more unusual ones MIGHT get you $20, but typically they all go for under $10. i've had imperial dragons in at least 10 variations over the years, but i downsized to just keep my very first one. it's a bright red and yellow one, which i believe was part of a jc penney's exclusive set that included 4 knights, a wizard, a king, and 2 horses.

Don't have any of these, but that could change. Most are pretty affordable.

In case anyone still cares, that Imperial gorilla pictured earlier in the thread is officially called the "Congo Gorilla." As far as I know, it was never marketed as King Kong. But I think it does look a little squatchy.

That is very original, to use the giraffe and the wolf as steeds for your figures!

Here are a few Imperial Dragons I just picked up, I think they look pretty nice with my non Imperial Asian creatures.
I also have these 2 Imperial Gorillas or King Kong figures.

anybody that might be interested.......I picked these guys up from Walmart and they are pretty much the same size as the imperial dragons and are very cheap also (like under 10 bucks ) they display really well next to my imperial stuff. I threw the remco figure in there for size comparison. I will try to add another photo of all the imperial stuff I have soon but its all scattered about at the moment. i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm18/zombiebloodbank/IMG_20150427_214544_zpsjwxrlqxh.jpg

Well, it could be King Kong, since Imperial also made a Godzilla figure, if I remember well. yes, it should be a king kong by imperial, 1978
