I posted this at sectaurs.org for those guys, but I figured I'd share here as well. According to their archive, I have (well had, the collection is in the midst of a large trade): -a loose/complete Stellara figure (unreleased) -a complete Night Fighting Dargon figure that is on a mock-up cardback. A cardback that I didn't see on Sectaurs.org. -all 3 of the unproduced Series 2 Creepers -The unproduced Series 2 Rhine-Ox creature -And a resin mock-up statue of the unproduced Series 2 Bodyball. Again, this is resin, not plastic. It's in pieces because no real connections exist. It seems the sculpter used some sort of putty to keep things together. I can only imagine this was created by the original sculpter of the figure, but then again, I'm not really familiar with toy creation. For Pics: www.blueharvestcds.com/raretoys/sectaurs/FYI - Her brother has 2 other of the uproduced creatures. Swipe and one of the other smaller creatures. We'll be getting them back soon.

These are super cool! Its to bad that these figures were never made. You were very lucky to own these figures at one point or another. If you have any of this stuff left and want to sell it, I would definately be interested.

Sectaurs was awsome. I was very suprised when I found out recently that it only survived one series of toys. That hive playset was friggen huge! I never had the fortune of owning one myself by a pal of mine did. We used to play with that thing in his sandbox everyday after school. Good times!

Thanks for the offers guys, but all of it is gone now except for Stellara and the Bodyball resin statue. And I'm 100% comitted to honoring the trade. Unless my contact fizzles out, they'll be gone soon enough as well. But I doubt he'll fizzle out. This guy is a HUGE Sectaurs fan.

hey whatever happened with this stuff? who got what and is any left? First let me say that more Series 2 stuff was found around Thanksgiving last year!!! I completely forgot to post it here. If you've ever seen Series 2 pics in the Coleco catalog, and compared the accessories pictured with Series 1, you'll notice that not one little accessory was duplicated. Each accessory for each figure had it's own mold. Now, what my brother-in-law found in my wife's old house was an inter-office envelope from when she worked at Coleco. It was a 1/4 full of Series 2 accessories!! Nearly everyone's accessory in multiple. Some I had 1 of. Some I had over 20 of. So it stands to reason that an unknown quantity of all Series 2 figs were produced. God knows where they are though. So far that bag of accessories, Stellara (seen in Toyfare #104 ), and the resin mock-up of Bodyball, are still here with me. They are also still promised to the guy I'm trading with. His final trade items is something custom that is taking quite a bit of time to complete. Oddly enough I haven't heard from the guy for a long while. 3 e-mails with no response for weeks. But he's been known to take a long time to respond before. It'd be a shame if something happened. The guy's a gigantic Sectaurs fan.

I'd be interested in some of your duplicate accessories if you ever wanted to get rid of a set. Didn't the guy used to run the sectaurs.org Website? I think it has been down for awhile now, I hope everything works out!

I think it has been down for awhile now, I hope everything works out! He didn't run it, but he was a big poster over there. There's a shot he now owns the domain now, but I don't know for sure. As for the accessories, I promised it all to him. To seal the deal mid-2005, I offered any new Sectaurs finds in my wife's old house, on top of what we have. I never thought I'd find something so eBay/Trade-able, but a promise is a promise.

I figured those of you who responded bookmarked this, so I'll post this here.
I'm starting to have my doubts about the trade I have in place for Stellara, Bodyball, and the bag o' Series 2 accessories. I don't want to go into details, but I'm having something unique done for me that takes quite a bit of time, and the guy I'm trading with is very busy. However, when I send a monthly update e-mail, it could be 1-3 months before I get a reply. 3 months last time, and currently I'm pushing 3 months for a reply again.
So at this point I've started to wonder exactly what these things would bring in if I were to sell it all outright to another collector. I know Sectaurs isn't exactly popular...or even known....but I was curious as to what I can reasonably expect to get if this falls through. Keeping in mind that I'm not giving up on my current situation as of yet.
Feel free to respond here or via private message.

Maybe I'm slow, but I thought that Night Fighting Dragon was released in the first series. What am I missing? My mistake. I should've included a little footnote in my very first post. The Night Fighting Dargon that I had was indeed released, but the one my wife got from Coleco was put on a mock-up cardback as a test. I imagine the figure was a regular release they had in the office, but the cardback was the unique item. It was a different design then what they went with for the line. Unique, but not Series 2.

Circa 1992- I was growing out of action figures. The local scalper- er, "collector "was a shop called Toy Wizard. Man, I just about sold everything to him. I needed the money for compact discs. Man. I sold all my Sectaurs- which was practically the whole line. Damn, if only I could turn back time...

I just got my first sectaur figure today. Its a Dargon with parafly, with the box. I think its complete as the figures are still tied to the box with twist ties. I must say I am pretty pleased with it I think this line is pretty cool, the way the figures have a little bug buddy that comes with them, and I like the way they look.I have wanted to start on this figure line since I read the little article about them in Toy Fare. Is this a hard and expensive line to complete. Also how many of the second series figures are out there as I know they werent mass produced and a few have surfaced (like the girl). Also does anyone have any other information on this series line, like where to find the tv shows if they exist, and the story behind the line, like the origin. were this men that were hit by radiation and obtain insect like powers, sort of like a cross between the Hulk and Spiderman or what how did they come about. Im really interested thanks Matt

Sectaurs is a really cool line, with a great look and better quality. I thinks it's so cheap to get it loose. I have a entire loose set plus a lot of doubles and it doesn't worth so much. I'm still missing The Hyve playset, but I waiting for a cheap one, don't want to spend hundreds of $$ for it.
The cartoon series are only five chapters long and is VERY hard to find. There's a guy on ebay who sold it some time ago, but I never see it again. I found the first and second chapter on the Edonkey with a really poor quality. On the intro they explain the story.

This is not a hard line to collect. These are pretty easy to come by. The hardest piece is the Hyve Playset, but it shows up often enough and will be in the $75 - $250 range depend on how nice or complete it is. The figures fetch a decent price in the box. Loose they are cheap. The second series was never released and unless you worked for coleco or know someone who did there is no way you will have a chance at any of those 2nd Series prototypes that slipped out the door. This is a great line and still cheap for good toys from the mid 80's. I am still in the process of completing this set for myself. All I have so far is 3 figs, a few weapons, and the playset: The cartoon can be found bootleg on ebay. Anybody have any good pics of their Sectaur Collections?

whoa that is a sweet collection. I love the huge furry spiders. I now have to make a decision and get them loose or mib. Cause most of the stuff I collect i get upopened, but these look two sweet to leave in the boxes. Maybe I will have to go the loose route on these havent decided yet.

for SpiderFlyer you are almost assuredly gonna have to buy him MIB...finding complete loose examples is QUITE difficult with the winged Insectoids(DragonFlyer, SpiderFlyer, Wingid, and Parafly)...had a buddy working on reproduction wings, but i think that project has stalled at the moment...

Nice Collection!!!! I am so jealous!
The Riders are very difficult to get loose mint with wings. They go for a decent amount in the box.

turnbolt, as far as the story of sectaurs...it is actually suprisingly well thought out and developed for something that never really did get past the first arc/act...it's mostly all just set up...
there is an 8 issue(i think) series from marvel that fleshes things out the best, there are also the mini-comics that don't do much more than establish what is going on, there is the cartoon which takes a few liberties with the other mediums and then there are the original tv commericials, of which i've only seen a few, but they have a continuing storyline that continues from each commercial into the next...for instance in once Pinsor is trapped or whatever and in the next episode/commerical nightfighting dargon shows up to save him...that sort of thing, cool thing about the commercials is the opening sequence is in live action, no Sectaurs, but you get to see the Ancients...
now, that you have the gist of where the story is(there are some picture books and coloring books that don't add ALOT), i'll tell you the gist of it...
essentially the Sectaurs are split into two "races" the Shining Realm(heroes) and the Dark Domain(villians), as usual they fight each other all the time...
Dargon's father left the Shining Realm leaving Dargon's uncle in charge, in general all the Sectaurs shun technology, as there was a great cataclysm that destroyed the elders, laid waste to the planet, and unleashed various gases/contaminents/etc that has mutated the life on Symbion...so, advanced technology is looked upon with fear and superstition, a few secret people follow/study the ancient technology and they are called Keepers...Mantor is the heroic keeps and Scorpia the evil one...essentially the Dark Domain(when not fighting each other) and the Shining Relam have an uneasy peace in the beginning of the story(whichever version it is) that eventually unravels as they quest for the mysterious Hyves ramp up...the Hyves are essentially Ancients control centers/bunkers and some zany stuff always goes down once they manage to find one and get inside...
however, we have a tendency to always find out about other Hyves, so the actual secret(s) is/are never revealed...we never figure out where Dargon's dad went, Dargon never becomes king, nothing ever really happens 'cept finding a hyve and learning that is JUST the beginning...we do get bits and pieces like how the telepathic bond between Sectaurs and Insectoids works, that Sectaurs DO have skeletons, etc, etc from the various media...
i hope that gives you a basic idea of the story and themes they used, it really WAS well thought up and developed...it just NEVER caught on enough to get that "second season" of stories that would have developed it more interestingly...
i have always figured there was a planet of the apes twist at the end, the ancients are us, humans...and suprise that is WHY the Sectaurs look SO human...right down to He-man's haircut and Man-at-Arms moustache...
but it's STILL a kick @$$ line...my favorite feature is the weapons and webgear, SO F-in' cool...
